Main purpose
The Head of People leads Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE)'s HR team directing and overseeing all staff-related activity and holding responsibility for developing and delivering the charity’s People Strategy. The role is a strategic partner to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Working alongside SLT in an advisory and partnering capacity, the Head of People helps ensure organisational decisions are informed by workforce insight and that CSE has the people, capability and culture needed to deliver its strategic objectives. The role works with line managers across the organisation to build people management capability and ensure that wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, and people-related legal and policy requirements are consistently applied.
The role spans the full breadth of the People function, including strategic business partnering, employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, wellbeing, EDI, people operations and digital transformation. The Head of People leads and develops the HR team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, proactive and people-centred service while building on the good practice that already exists within the charity and driving continuous improvement for the benefit of the charity and its employees.
As the senior People professional at CSE, the role balances strategic leadership with practical operational delivery across the full breadth of the People function, requiring the successful candidate to move confidently between strategic thinking and hands-on implementation. The Head of People provides expert advice on complex people matters, develops and implements people policies, frameworks and processes, supports organisational change and improvement, and translates organisational priorities, values and culture into practical people initiatives that support both staff and the wider organisation.
This role is likely to appeal to someone who enjoys building, improving and embedding great people practice and who is comfortable balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery across a broad and varied remit. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.
We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.
You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

About Working Well Trust
Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.
We are expanding our team of IPS Employment Advisors in our IPS service in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. You will be based in one of NHS mental health treatment teams in Bethnal Green, Isle of Dogs or Stepney and Wapping areas, working 35 hours per week. This IPS services at Working Well Trust has been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment.
Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. The Mental Health A&E Link worker will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in A&E, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
They will encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery; through providing emotional support, signposting and completing onward referrals into mental health support. They will work closely with A&E clinical staff, integrated discharge teams, CGL, Bounce Back, and mental health liaison teams, to proactively identify referrals into the crisis alternatives service to facilitate timely discharges from A&E.

Working in our purpose-built, Cytech-approved workshop, you'll teach cycle mechanics, support learners to achieve accredited Cytech qualifications, and guide them as they refurbish donated bicycles that are returned to the community.
As one of two tutors, you'll inspire and motivate learners, adapt your teaching to individual needs, monitor progress, maintain high workshop and safety standards, and work closely with prison staff, volunteers and the wider Life Cycle team. You'll also contribute to quality assurance, record learner outcomes, and help ensure every refurbished bike leaves the workshop safe and roadworthy.
The role is both rewarding and challenging, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds, but you'll be backed by an experienced team and have regular opportunities to share learning and best practice.

You're an enthusiastic and skilled cycle mechanic who enjoys helping others learn and develop. You'll be able to build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds, motivate learners, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
You'll be organised, professional and confident working independently, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, security and workshop practice. Most importantly, you'll share Life Cycle's passion for creating opportunities through cycling and be motivated by the chance to make a positive difference in people's lives.
Experience of working with challenging client groups, the cycle industry, or delivering recognised qualifications is desirable, as is a Cytech Technical Two, City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent qualification.

Purpose of the job
To work with Thames21’s Head of Finance and The Roding Rises delivery team to oversee the administration of The Roding Rises, a three-year project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund that aims to kick-start the revitalisation of the River Roding. This position will work alongside Thames21’s Head of Finance and The Roding Rises Project Manager to ensure that every day finance functions for The Roding Rises project operate efficiently and accurately. To successfully deliver this job, the postholder will have a strong eye for detail and have experience in budget management/bookkeeping to ensure funding claims and invoices are paid on time.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Track project costs against projected budget to ensure budget vs actual expenditure is effectively managed, raising concerns early with Thames21’s Head of Finance and The Roding Rises Project Manager.
• Complete The National Lottery Heritage Fund claims process at agreed intervals to ensure an appropriate cash flow.
• Assist with relevant reporting tasks back to project funders.
• Work with the Thames21 Head of Finance and Thames21 Finance Officer to ensure all payments are completed in a timely manner in line with internal financial processes and any outstanding payments are managed in line with the approved funding agreement/ project proposal documentation.
• Support The Roding Rises Project Manager with the administration of the Roding Grant Scheme.
• Support the development and integration of improved financial tracking and reporting processes across wider Thames21 teams.
