Over the last 10 years the ICAS Foundation has awarded over £2m in funding to support university students studying accountancy and finance. Each year we help around 100 students studying at universities across Scotland and England. The Head of Income and Engagement will work as part of a small team being the sole fundraiser for the ICAS Foundation alongside the current Foundation Director who has delivered key acquisitions in the last 12 months.
The key focus of the role will be to deliver income targets to meet the business plan and strategy 2030, including creating the fundraising strategy required to fulfil our growth aims. The role will manage a newly appointed Marketing and Communications Manager and have access to the Foundation Administrator. The role will promote our work in improving social mobility by awarding bursaries and grants to young people who would benefit the most from the additional support ICAS Foundation can offer. As well as financial support, this also includes a mentoring scheme and support with internships and graduate roles.
The role will also offer the opportunity to work closely with the Foundation Director and support our engagement with charity supporters and members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS). The role will enjoy a variety of work in income generation and engagement of a membership body and firms within the accountancy profession.
Job Purpose and Duties:
The Head of Income and Engagement leads the strategic vision for fundraising initiatives at the ICAS Foundation, ensuring sustained financial support for impactful programs that enhance social mobility in the accountancy and finance sector.
Membership Fundraising:
• Develop and implement strategies to expand the Foundation's membership base, aligning with organisational goals.
• Execute engaging campaigns across diverse channels to attract new members.
• Outcome: Increase in membership numbers by 9% by 2026.
Individual Giving:
• Design and implement compelling campaigns for diverse donor segments.
• Develop personalised stewardship plans for major donors.
• Outcome: Achieve a 10% increase in individual donations over the course of the year.
Corporate Fundraising:
• Identify and engage corporate partners for sponsorship and donation opportunities.

Legacy Fundraising:

Event Fundraising:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events to generate revenue and increase visibility.
• Collaborate with the events team for engaging experiences.
• Achieve a specified fundraising goal for each event and increase Foundation visibility.
Strategic Vision and Planning:
• Develop and lead the strategic vision for fundraising initiatives aligned with the Foundation's long-term objectives as set out in the 2030 Strategy.
• Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy resulting in increased financial support and sustainability.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
• Provide leadership and direction to the marketing and comms team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. • Ensure cohesive teamwork leading to effective fundraising outcomes.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyse fundraising performance, generate reports, and provide actionable insights.
• Regularly report on fundraising metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.

The role:
The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial management and financial controls for the Fidelity UK and international Foundations, including leading on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning and delivering the annual reports and accounts for all four Foundations. The post holder will prepare all finance papers for Board and Finance and Investment Subcommittee meetings and will support the oversight of the Foundations’ investment portfolios. This role will also be responsible for managing all payments made by the Foundations, in addition to ensuring risk and compliance guidelines are adhered to at all times.
The person
The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally with experience of the charitable sector, and a strong track record of day-to-day financial management in a comparable role. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You will have a proficiency in accounting (with a relevant finance qualification) and will be able to evidence the successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring against budgets. Additionally, you will have strong analytical and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills, and hands-on experience of explaining complex financial information clearly and concisely. Finally, you will have a high degree of humility and a collaborative style and will be able to pro-actively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.

As the Senior IT Operations Officer, you will be the welcoming face for new team members, ensuring they're equipped and trained on systems for a seamless onboarding experience.
Additionally, the Senior IT Operations Officer will be responsible for coordinating, planning and leading IT-related services and activities and developing IT related policies and procedures. The role will also provide technical and administrative support to departments and users to ensure that they can make optimum use of the organisation’s IT networks, systems, and associated hardware and software.
You will be responsible for promoting digitalisation initiatives across the organisation and have the responsibility for managing the IT budget and procurement, overseeing implementation and maintenance of IT systems and technologies that support strategic and digitalisation aspirations.
This role will work with members of all teams across the organisation with a particular emphasis on the Strategic Management Team (SMT).
To be considered for this role will possess excellent IT skills, especially in Office 365 and Windows 10 Pro. You should know your way around computer systems, how to keep them secure, and how to manage networks and databases with hands-on experience with computers, networks, and cloud-based systems. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and will enjoy training and onboarding new team members, ensuring a smooth transition into the organisation.
