About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior PR and Communications Manager to lead our PR and Communications function and play a key role in raising the Charity’s profile as a global leader in cancer research funding.

You will lead the development and delivery of a proactive and reactive PR and communications strategy that enhances our reputation, drives awareness, and supports fundraising across all income streams.

Managing a small team, you will work collaboratively across the Charity and hospital to identify compelling stories—from groundbreaking research to powerful patient and supporter experiences—and bring them to life across regional, national and sector media.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

• Deliver the Charity’s PR and communications strategy to increase visibility, reputation and engagement
• Manage and develop the PR and Communications team, ensuring high-quality, impactful output
• Track and report on media performance, coverage and KPIs.

Media Relations & Reputation Management

• Develop strong relationships with national, regional and specialist media
• Lead proactive media engagement, including story sell-in, press releases and media briefings
• Manage reactive communications, including handling sensitive issues and advising on messaging
• Identify opportunities to position senior leaders as thought leaders within the sector.

Content and Storytelling

• Oversee the development of high-quality, compelling content that showcases the Charity’s impact
• Lead on the production of the Charity’s supporter magazine Progress and key publications, including Annual and Impact Reports
• Work closely with clinical teams, patients and supporters to source authentic, engaging stories.

Campaigns and Partnerships

• Lead PR activity for flagship campaigns and events, including The Banham Marsden March, Celebrate a Life, and the Ever After Garden
• Support major fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships and new product launches
• Collaborate with Marketing and Digital teams to maximise reach across channels.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong relationships across the Charity, hospital and external partners
• Work closely with clinical teams, senior leadership, and celebrity/VIP stakeholders to maximise appropriate PR opportunities
• Ensure consistent and accurate representation of the Charity’s brand and messaging.

We are looking for a confident and strategic communications leader with strong charity sector experience.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in PR and communications within the charity sector
• A proven track record of delivering impactful PR strategies and campaigns
• Strong media relations expertise, including handling complex and sensitive issues
• Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
• Experience producing publications such as annual reports or magazines
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

• Knowledge of the NHS or healthcare environment

What you’ll do

As Head of Service, you will lead the delivery of a national, evidence-based intervention programme supporting young people at risk of exclusion, grounded in CBT, systemic practice, and a whole-school approach.

You will have strategic and operational responsibility for developing, managing and evaluating the service, ensuring high-quality clinical governance, safeguarding, and compliance with the programme’s randomised controlled trial requirements.

Working closely with practitioners, researchers and partners, and drive inclusive, anti-racist practice while building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective outcomes for children, young people and families.

What you’ll bring

Essential requirements:

• Relevant professional qualification and expertise: recognised clinical or related qualification with strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions for children and young people, particularly in school settings.
• Extensive clinical and safeguarding experience: experience working with at-risk young people, including managing risk, safeguarding responsibilities, and providing clinical supervision.
• Proven leadership and team management capability: ability to lead, supervise and develop multidisciplinary teams delivering structured interventions.
• Ability to work within research frameworks: experience adhering to intervention models and contributing to programmes aligned with research requirements such as trials or evaluations.
• Communication and partnership skills: confident working with schools, external agencies and diverse communities, with strong cultural competence and inclusive practice.

The Finance and Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing our day-to-day financial systems, overseeing the running of our database and website, and providing administrative support for the general running of the organisation, including project managing our community and fundraising events. You will provide support to the Executive Director and other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of Teach for Tomorrow.

We are a small and passionate team that work on a hybrid model: your place of work should be within easy commuting distance from either London, Manchester, Coventry or Grantham.

Your Key Duties and Accountabilities

Finance Administration

• Place, track and process orders, invoices, expenses and financial transactions

• Maintain Quickbooks with all transactions, provide reports as required and maintain the interface between CiviCRM and Quickbooks

• Set up payments for authorisation in the bank account as required

• Generate contracts as required

• Maintain relationships with suppliers, venues and partners

• Manage the interface with the company pension provider and pensions regulator, making payments as required and ensuring all statutory obligations are met

Database, Website and Knowledge Management

• Maintain the organisation database and provide reports and information as required by team members

• Ensure that the website is up-to-date and upload new resources, information and news stories as required

• Monitor analytics relating to website and support the management of Search Engine Optimisation

• Ensure that the knowledge management system and processes are maintained, including website and database change logs

• Maintain the relationship with the website and database provider/sand ensure that the monthly retainer is monitored and reviewed

• Liaise with the Data Protection Officer to ensure that all statutory requirements are met in relation to data protection and UK GDPR

Operational Coordination and Administration

• Manage external vendor relationships, in particular - but not exclusively - website and database providers, HR and Health and Safety providers, Safeguarding support, IT support services, Accountant and Auditors, and memberships of organisations such as the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)

• Maintain filing systems online and in hard copy (where required)

• Maintain policies and procedure documents, ensuring updates are made as required and updates are provided for reporting to board

• Be first point of contact for general enquiries and monitor all general communication channels

• Provide general administration support as required

Events 

• Work with the Chief Executive and other staff to ensure successful planning and execution of fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events and all related activities. Responsibilities include: managing invitation process, tracking registrations and gifts, running and circulating reports

• Provide logistical support of the events on the day

Perform other related duties as required by position.

There will be an occasional requirement to work outside normal hours to support evening events – with a late start and late finish – but if this is expected, advance notice will be given.

Mind in Croydon is s recruiting a Rapid Responder Practitioner to support the delivery of Building Brighter Futures (BBF), an innovative partnership programme designed to improve access to early mental health support for young people in Croydon.

This role will provide timely, relational and trauma-informed support to young people aged 15–19 experiencing emotional distress, emerging mental health needs and complex disadvantage. Working as part of a multi-agency team, the postholder will act as a key point of early engagement, offering brief interventions and supporting young people to access the right pathway at the right time.

Building Brighter Futures is a three-year programme (funded until 31 March 2029) focused on early intervention for young people aged 15–19 experiencing complex disadvantage. The programme brings together a partnership of voluntary sector organisations, including Croydon Voluntary Action, Reedham Children’s Trust, Mind in Croydon, Off The Record, Croydon Drop In, Palace for Life and Reaching Higher.

The programme aims to reduce waiting times, prevent escalation of need, and improve young people’s experience by providing rapid access to relational, non-clinical support and clear pathways into longer-term or specialist services, where required.

The Rapid Responder Practitioner role is central to the programme’s front-door and allocation model, ensuring young people receive timely contact, appropriate assessment and coordinated support, while minimising duplication and repetitions.

While the role is hosted within Mind in Croydon, it operates as part of a multi-agency delivery model, with close coordination, shared practice standards and collective accountability across the partnership.
