We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Fundraising & Community Engagement Officer to join our Communications, Marketing & Engagement team. You will lead a range of fundraising and community engagement activities – from writing high-quality grant applications to developing local partnerships, sponsorships and community-based opportunities.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, proven experience in fundraising and the confidence to build strong relationships with supporters, partners and community organisations. You’ll bring a genuine passion for generating income, connecting people and building inclusive communities.

You’ll be proactive in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, engaging directly with potential partners and promoting our work to grow Homefield’s supporter base. You’ll also coordinate fundraising events, develop compelling stories that showcase our impact and contribute to strategic projects that enhance our reputation and long–term sustainability.

This varied role combines relationship-building, income generation, community engagement and creative problem-solving – ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, spotting opportunities and making a tangible difference.

What You’ll Do

People and Culture

• Work closely with the Operations Manager and Director to help create a positive, healthy team culture that reflects our values and priorities.

• Turn people and culture plans into action, focusing on practical changes that improve day-to-day working life for our team.

• Stay up to date with UK employment practice, especially in education and purpose-led organisations, and use this knowledge where helpful.
   

• Run team satisfaction surveys and feedback activity, and help turn what we hear into clear, practical improvements.

• Support and promote equity, diversity and inclusion through everyday people processes and guidance.

• Work with external HR or legal advisers when needed to help ensure we follow employment law and best practice.

HR Operations

• Be the first point of contact for everyday HR questions from the team.

• Give clear, practical HR advice, knowing when to escalate complex or high-risk issues.

• Keep HR systems, records and documentation accurate and up to date.

• Support updates to HR policies and help ensure we meet employment law and GDPR requirements.

• Work with Finance on payroll changes and provide people data as needed.

Employee Lifecycle

• Manage recruitment administration, from advertising roles to coordinating interviews and preparing offers.

• Support safeguarding and safer recruitment by coordinating all required education-sector pre-appointment checks in line with KCSIE, and maintaining an accurate Single Central Record to ensure compliance before appointments are confirmed.

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, inductions and exit interviews

• Support key people processes such as probation reviews, absence management and performance conversations.

• Help coordinate employee relations processes (such as disciplinary and grievance cases) with senior support.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

• Has CIPD Level 5 (completed or working towards, with support to complete)

• Has 2+ years’ experience in a generalist HR, HR Officer or HR Advisor role

• Has a good working knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practice

• Has experience supporting employee relations cases using agreed processes and guidance

• Is highly organised, with strong attention to detail

• Is a confident, clear communicator able to build relationships at all levels

• Can handle sensitive issues with discretion, empathy and professionalism

• Has experience using HR systems and managing employee data accurately

• Experience in the education, charity or purpose-led sector

• Experience supporting or improving HR processes, templates or documentation

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK’s growing Community Fundraising team as a Regional Fundraiser, which is expanding in response to sustained year-on-year growth and our ambitious five-year organisational strategy. As a Regional Fundraiser you will lead on developing and managing relationships with supporters across the Central region of England — including individuals, community groups, and corporate organisations.

You will play a key role in delivering our community fundraising strategy by identifying new opportunities, nurturing long-term relationships, and inspiring people to take action and raise vital funds. The Fundraising team is a small (7) but mighty team driving fundraising efforts across the UK. The team currently raises over £5m predominantly through multi-year strategic partnerships.

The Senior Development Manager will lead new business through securing new significant partnerships, major donors and maximising commercial opportunities and line manage the New Business Manager.

The events team is responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of a full programme of paid for in-person and virtual events (such as our Annual Conference, and Annual Leadership and Workforce Summit) and for delivering a large portion of the free events that take place across The Fund; including online events, roundtables, workshops, receptions and dinners. The events team ensures that there is a co-ordinated and uniform approach to delivering virtual or in-person events, and that each is delivered to the same high standard.

This role will give you an exciting opportunity to work in our busy events team within a well-respected health think-tank and charity. You will work with colleagues on planning and delivering a mixture of pay-to-attend conferences (virtual and in-person), roundtable discussions, dinners, and free online events. You will also manage the content design and delivery of our joint-badged events with our sponsors, Corporate Partners and Supporters.

You will lead on several events in the schedule; developing content in line with colleagues across The King’s Fund and more widely in-line with our new strategy. You will be responsible (with the rest of the events team) in ensuring they are insightful, run smoothly, keep to strict budgets, are delivered to a very high standard, meet the expectations of colleagues and delegates, and enhance our reputation and public profile. You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our portfolio of in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

To join us, you’ll need a degree (or equivalent) and experience in planning and delivering virtual and in person conferences and other smaller events. With this background, you’ll know how to research and develop event content to create engaging programmes and attract wide audiences. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead effective logistics arrangements in preparation for and on the day of events. We’ll expect you to work hard to support the team and you will be given responsibility for your own areas of work. You’ll also need to be flexible, diligent, and comfortable being the main point of contact for many people from sponsors to speakers.

This role is a Community & Events Fundraiser for St. Joseph’s Hospice, focused on inspiring and supporting individuals, groups, schools, and local businesses to raise vital funds. What we’re looking for in our Digital Video Production Officer:

- Experience working in a professional video production role

- Previous professional video editing experience, using professional video editing programmes such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve or similar

- Experience of working to house style/brand guidelines

- Experience working in a digital marketing team, as part of a large organisation

- Strong understanding of the role of video in today’s digital marketing landscape

About the Role

The Events & Community Fundraising Manager is an integral part of our ambitious and forward-thinking Fundraising & Communications team.

This postholder will deliver The Connection at St Martin’s Events and Community Fundraising activity. They will line manage the Events & Community Fundraising Assistant, with a particular focus on their work on our annual Pilgrimage event. They will work in conjunction with the Director of Fundraising & Communications to develop and implement an action plan for these important functions.  

This role will develop, manage and grow an enthusiastic and motivated team of challenge event participants, pioneer our involvement in the collaborative London Walk event, lead on our emerging Special Events programme, and identify new opportunities and networks for our Community Fundraising remit.

This role requires someone with a strong track record in Events and Community Fundraising, with a solutions-focussed mindset. They will need experience in translating sector best practice into action, and to be excited at the prospect of innovating and pursuing new Events and Community Fundraising opportunities for the organisation.

As a respected and growing organisation, BPNA is looking for a highly motivated individual who can use their dedication, attention to detail and reliability to help us develop further. We are seeking to appoint a UK Short Course Co-ordinator to join our small team which is based across our Bolton and London offices. This is a full-time, permanent post based in Bolton, working 37.5 hours a week (7.5 hours per day x 5 days per week). The British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA) is the professional organisation for doctors who specialise in the care of children with neurological disorders. The BPNA has developed a number of educational programmes for doctors in the UK and overseas both online and face-to-face. This role directly supports the education of healthcare professionals across the UK, impacting the care of children with neurological conditions.

ABOUT YOU

This role would suit an organised, efficient and practical person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good deal of common sense. You will also have diplomatic skills and the ability to build good relationships. You will need to be flexible, have an ability to problem-solve on-site, provide online zoom support, set up equipment such as computers and data projectors, and to organise highly educated people whilst remaining calm and maintaining a sense of humour. LOCATION

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate full commitment to the vision and values of Willowbrook Hospice. The role will be crucial in ensuring we are able to ‘Deliver the best care, delivered with compassion for our community’.

The Head of Finance’s key priorities, in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, are to lead and support the strategic and annual financial planning processes, and to prepare and analyse accurate and timely financial information for the Board of Trustees and the Directors of the Trading Company, ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements.

Main Duties:

1. To provide an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

2.   Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance on a monthly basis against plan by the preparation and issue of monthly budget statements.  Make recommendations on costing assumptions to be included within all budgets. For example, inflation rates.

3. Support the strategic direction of the business by leading on the preparation of 5 year financial forecasts to support strategic planning and to ensure the long term financial viability of the business. 

4.   Prepare and maintain financial accounts in a timely fashion and ensure they are consistent with external financial reporting standards and requirements.

5.  Provide monthly financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

6. Prepare cash flow reports on a regular/quarterly basis and monitor cash requirements and advise the Board of Trustees, Directors of the Trading Company and Executive Leadership Team on the liquidity position of the business.

7.  Provide advice on all financial matters, including issues arising in connection with charity legislation, to ensure that the business meets its legal financial obligations and complies will all external regulatory requirements.

 8. Liaise with H.M. Revenue and Customs and VAT consultants regarding records and payments and ensure compliance with all regulations.   

9. Ensure the provision of a monthly payroll service and ensure delivery of an accurate, reliable and quality payroll service to all staff.

10. To liaise with all regulatory external bodies in connection with any financial or charity matters, i.e. auditors, accountants, bank, solicitors, Charity Commission, Companies House, insurance company, pension advisors and others.

11. Annual completion of the Charity Commission self-assessment, ensuring that we comply with best practice. 

12. Attend the meetings of the local networking groups as required.

13. Review and monitor performance of the business’s investments and provide up to date reports to the Board of Trustees, enabling them to make appropriate investment decisions.

14. As part of financial reporting, complete regular analysis of all income and expenditure, supporting budget holders as required to identify areas where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.

15. Support in the preparation of business cases as necessary across the business.

16. Support in the preparation of benchmarking information to assist in the determination of opportunities to improve the organisation’s financial position.

17. Support the business’s efforts to maximise income from all sources providing financial information and attending committees and other forums as required to assist in this.

18. Develop and maintain an asset register of all property across the business. Ensure capital accounting policies are agreed annually by the Finance Committee. 

19. Ensure appropriate financial procedures, financial governance and policies are in place across the business and ensure they are regularly reviewed and appropriate. 

 20. Ensure good systems of financial control and checks are in place for all assets. 

21.To manage and support staff in the Finance Department, ensuring they have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.

22. Ensure that all members of the leadership team (ELT and SLT) and the board have the necessary knowledge and support regarding financial matters including the provision of training if necessary.

23. Attend committees and key meetings  to present relevant financial information at the request of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

 Performance Standards:

1. Annual income and expenditure budgets are approved annually and monitored monthly.

2. Management Accounts are aimed to be completed within 10 working days of month end and available for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.

3. Regulatory requirements are met as and when they fall due.

4. The provision of an accurate and reliable set of annual financial statements.

5. Meet with statutory and external organisations in a timely and professional manner.

6. Quarterly VAT returns, Annual Corporation Tax returns and other statutory returns are submitted in a timely manner.

7. With regard to financial records and reporting, to comply with and meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission.

8. Completion of all Charity Commission regulatory requirements.

9. Ensure that we have robust financial systems in place for all assets and liabilities incorporating monthly reviews of creditors and debtors.

10.  Ensure financial information requirements of the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company are met in a timely manner. 

11. Ensure that the business has financial systems and processes in place that will comply with regulatory requirements for healthcare services. 

12. Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team participating in all relevant meetings contributing where possible, to the achievement of business objectives.

13. To take rotational responsibility as Out of Hours Duty Manager, if required.

14. Provide advice, support and information to the Executive Leadership Team; Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company on financial matters enabling the business to meet its objectives.

General Duties:

1. To liaise with Head of Human Resources to advise, where necessary, on all salary and pension matters, keeping up to date with changing legislation.

2. To communicate with the banks, HMRC, Department of Work and Pensions and all other relevant external bodies regarding all pension, tax and National Insurance issues.

3. To liaise with all Senior Leadership team colleagues to ensure payroll data is accurate and kept up to date.

4. To liaise with the Head of Fundraising in matters relating to fundraising income and expenditure and the fundraising and lottery database, ensuring that any information is an accurate reflection of income and expenditure.

5. To liaise with the Head of Retail in matters relating to the trading company’s income and expenditure, ensuring that all information provided is accurate.

6. To verify that insurance cover is appropriate and adequate for the various business functions and to ensure that it is kept up to date.

7. To ensure that there is compliance across the business with financial statutory regulations and internal financial policies.

8. Ensure that there is a robust information governance regime across all financial matters across the business.

9. To undertake and manage the annual appraisal process for the Finance Team, identifying any training and development needs.

10.  Ensure that all members of the Finance Team attend mandatory and statutory training as required and that evaluations are undertaken to monitor effectiveness.

11. The post holder will adhere to all relevant legislation and policies of the business.

• Supporting the delivery of regional adult learning awards, including coordinating nominations and selection processes; undertaking all administrative tasks; and working with L&W’s external affairs manager to manage relationships with clients and award winners.

Events

• Supporting the delivery of L&W’s in-person and online events, including our annual Employment and Skills Convention and Get the Nation Learning Awards ceremony. This involves undertaking administrative tasks such as managing registrations, liaison with speakers and delegates, supporting delivery of events on the day, and working with the external affairs manager to manage relationships with sponsors and suppliers.

Other duties

• Support the external affairs team with communications tasks, for example website updates, drafting and preparing marketing emails and social media posts, distributing press releases etc.

There will be a requirement to attend in-person team meetings based in the area on a quarterly basis and other parts of the UK when our wider fundraising territory and department get together.
