We are looking for an Anti Social Behaviour Officer to join our Housing Team in East London also covering Harrow, Barnet, Camden, Newham and Lambeth, to contribute to developing a safe and inclusive community for our customers.

In this busy role you'll work alongside your housing management colleagues to tackle all forms of hate crime, nuisance and anti-social behaviour. 

You'll manage your own caseload and build effective working relationships with external agencies, including the police and legal advisors.

You'll make a big difference to people's lives within an experienced, supportive and supported team. 

What you'll need:

• You'll have previous experience of anti-social behaviour related housing management services or be able to demonstrate transferable skills and experience from a similar type of customer facing role.
• Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour and resolving conflict
• Knowledge of safeguarding, mental health and the process of going to court
• The ability to be self-motivated and highly organised
• Strong IT skills including MS Office
• The ability to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies
• This is a new role so you'll have to be open to new ideas and change
   

What you need to know: 

This is a hybrid role where you'll working in the Wembley office two days a week.

The role is permanent, and you'll be working full time.

The starting salary is £35,000 - £42,000 depending on your experience. 

You'll need to be happy to travel to support the customers in your area.

A basic DBS check will be completed if you are successful.

Responsibilities

The Legacy Administrator will support the smooth running of the Legacy Team, key responsibilities include:

• Processing incoming legacy post daily, scanning and uploading documents to the First-Class database. (Post is received in a variety of ways).
• Monitoring the legacy inbox, responding to calls and emails, and managing electronic filing.
• Processing all legacy income, liaising with the Database Team to ensure correct allocation and maintaining the legacy pipeline.
• Managing a personal caseload of pecuniary legacies in the UK and Ireland, liaising with executors and solicitors (training provided).
• Issuing formal receipts for income received.
• Building strong relationships with co-beneficiary charities and, with support, liaising with external professionals to minimise costs and maximise opportunities.
• Maintaining and updating the legacy database with new notifications and relevant information.
• Supporting team operations, including preparing agendas for weekly meetings and covering colleagues during annual leave.

The Organisation

On behalf of a leading UK membership organisation in the not-for-profit sector, we are recruiting for a Head of Financial Accounting. This organisation represents over a million members and operates with an annual income exceeding £200 million. It has a complex financial structure with multiple entities and funds, making this a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced finance professional.

The Job

As Head of Financial Accounting, you will take ownership of the organisation's financial accounting function. This is a newly created role due to the need for extra headcount and organisational support from the finance team. This organisation does have some historical issues with their financial accounting, meaning there is a backlog and a need to improve processes. There is also a current reliance on Excel, which they would like to change with plans in place for a new system implementation. The complexity of the organisation and the situation mean the incoming person will have the opportunity to have a big impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing statutory accounts and regulatory returns for the organisation and its subsidiaries.
• Managing group consolidation schedules and reporting.
• Acting as the main liaison with external auditors and regulators.
• Leading a project to insource financial accounting functions currently outsourced.
• Driving improvements in financial accounting policies and processes.
• Advising senior leadership on technical accounting matters.
• Potentially managing 1-2 team members.

This is a high-profile role within the finance team, reporting to the Deputy Finance Director and contributing to the organisation's financial governance.

The Person

• Significant experience in financial accounting within a large, complex organisation.

• Experience managing projects such as insourcing or systems change.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Charity People are delighted to be supporting a Voluntary Service Council to recruit a Strategic Lead.

The charity has been administrating and managing grants for around two decades. They have a collaborative grant-giving programme, where they work with local people and organisations to raise funds that are distributed across the borough to charitable organisations that are working locally to tackle inequality and change lives for the better in Merton.

The Strategic Lead will lead, develop, and manage the giving programme for a charity in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners. This will involve the development and implementation of a programme strategy and business plan, as well as supporting colleagues to develop and implement fundraising, marketing, and grant-making strategies and plans.

Key responsibilities

* Organisational strategy & business plan: Develop and implement an innovative programme strategy and sustainable business plan for the giving programme and align strategy and plans with funder objectives and the wider aims of the charity.
* Partnership development: Identify and secure new partners to support the giving programme's success, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders (London Borough of Merton, Merton Chamber of Commerce) to unlock fundraising, marketing, and grant-making opportunities, convene and facilitate quarterly Steering Committee meetings and produce update reports, and represent the giving programme.
* Grant-making: Assist the Grants Manager in developing a comprehensive grant-making strategy, including participatory practices, and ensure robust monitoring and evaluation for all grant-making initiatives.
* Budget management: Oversee programme income and expenditure in collaboration with the Finance Team, lead on budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting; produce quarterly finance reports for the Steering Committee
* Fundraising and marketing: Support the Fundraising & Engagement Manager in delivering a sustainable fundraising strategy, and work with the Marketing Manager to implement an effective marketing strategy that enhances the giving programme's profile.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of developing and delivering community programmes across borough or equivalent. You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
* Ability to create, develop, and deliver quality programmes and projects
* Significant experience of staff or volunteer line management and development
* Ability to network and form positive and productive working relationships with a range of people from different professional and personal backgrounds
* Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
* Excellent co-ordination and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and plan own workload, manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
* Experience of gathering and analysing data to evidence outputs and outcomes
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to innovate, inspire and gain respect at all levels of an organisation
* Understanding of fundraising

You will also need to be able to demonstrate good local knowledge of the voluntary sector, knowledge and understanding of outcomes focused work, and excellent IT skills including experience of Office365 and databases. If you have worked within a grant-giving organisation before this would be beneficial.

The charity is based in Mitcham (CR4 3UD) and you will be willing to attend the office at least 1-2 times a week, as well as be able to attend meetings and events within Merton. There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted. The ideal start date will be January or early February at the latest.
