You’ll need to be confident in carrying out interviews and focus groups, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. This role suits someone who is organised, curious, and reliable, able to manage their work, meet deadlines, and produce clear, impactful outputs.

The role
The Domestic Abuse Prevention All Risk Perpetrator Worker will strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified through all levels of risk. 

The purpose of this role is to move the perpetrator along the spectrum of awareness; acceptance of impact; desire to change; to voluntary engagement in behavioural change to end the cycle of abuse for children who are victims of domestic abuse. 

The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will work with people on: awareness raising and developing motivation to change with people who recognise they are at risk of or are harming their partner (low risk), individual case management and group behavioural change programmes (standard and medium risk), intensive case management aimed at high harm and/or significant recidivist perpetrators. To do this, the Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with existing agencies as part of a co located multi agency approach. 

The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the victim/survivor IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved. 

The Prevention, Action and Support Team (PAST) provides an intensive case management service for individuals (all genders, 18+) identified by the police as high risk, high harm perpetrators of domestic abuse.  The intervention lasts 8 – 16 weeks, (with potential extensions based on the duration of the perpetrators inclusion in the perpetrator panel cohort).  Cases are referred through a police-led perpetrator panel (e.g., MATAC or DATAC).

PAST’s intensive case management approach balances support, accountability, and disruption to deliver tailored interventions that enhance victim safety, provide perpetrators with opportunity for change – while ensuring they are held accountable for their actions.

About you

You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.

Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities. 

You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client.  You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person. 

You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems. 

Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will have an understanding of trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable. 

Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

About The Skill Mill 

The Skill Mill is a multi-award-winning social enterprise providing employment opportunities for young people aged 16–18 involved in the criminal justice system. We deliver environmental and community improvement projects that build skills, improve life chances, and reduce reoffending. 

Young people aged 16-18 will be employed by The Skill Mill for 6-months, working in small cohorts of four, under the direct supervision of a dedicated Supervisor. During this period, the programme integrates practical skills training, offering short courses and on-the-job instruction in areas like environmental management, construction, and recycling, using tools such as trimmers and lawnmowers. Purpose of the Role:

To support young people aged 16+, particularly those involved with The Skill Mill programme, by delivering tailored, person-centered pathways into education, training, and long-term employment. The postholder will act as a trusted advisor, helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and transition successfully into sustainable opportunities with partner organisation and local employers. 

Support for young people from the Pathway Advisor will begin in the 6-month employment phase, with liaison with the young person, Supervisors and Commercial Sales Manager, to begin to build relationships, understand aspirations and identify potential opportunities.

About The Role

At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe no one should face dementia alone. Every conversation, every visit and every small moment of reassurance can make a real difference.

We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive Luton team working 28 hours per week over four days, Tuesday to Friday on a fixed term contract 31st March 2027.

You will be walking alongside people living with dementia and the people who care about them living in Luton. This is a role built on trust and kindness. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.

Your days will be varied and meaningful. You might be visiting someone at home, offering calm reassurance over the phone, or working closely with GP surgeries and other professionals to make sure the right support is in place. We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.

You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you

You will have:

- An understanding of dementia, or a willingness to learn about the experiences of people living with dementia and those who care for them.
- Experience providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.
- You will be able to listen and communicate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- The ability to manage your workload effectively, with appropriate support and tools, and to balance competing priorities.
- Confidence using IT systems to maintain accurate and confidential records.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred approach, with respect for diversity and individual lived experiences.
- The ability to travel independently across Luton and wider on occasions.
- The confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding. You will be required to speak publicly at events about dementia, delivering information and signposting people to further resources and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build supportive, trusting relationships with people living with dementia and their carers across, recognising and respecting individual needs and circumstances.

- Deliver support through home visits, telephone contact and partnership working with GP surgeries and other professionals.

- Signpost and connect individuals to appropriate local services and community networks, reducing isolation and increasing access to support.

- Facilitate and deliver regular peer support groups across Luton, creating a safe, inclusive environment where people affected by dementia can share experiences, build connections, and access tailored information and guidance.

Job Purpose

The Finance Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining robust financial systems and procedures that support the Project Manager and staff team. The role ensures that all staff meet their budgetary and financial management responsibilities, safeguarding the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of the organisation’s financial activities and records.

As the organisation expands its trading and income-generation activities, the Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the transition towards reduced reliance on grant funding. The organisation works with approximately 50 funders annually, managing multiple budgets with varying timescales, reporting requirements, and deadlines.

Main Duties

1. Financial and Management Accounting

• Undertake the day-to-day input of transactions onto the accounting system and the maintenance of financial records including the inputting to Sage and completion of postings to meet the month end timetable. Oversee the banking schedules of cash/cheques received.
• Ensure that all nominal ledger control accounts are reconciled monthly, followup and investigate any queries or differences and authorise any resulting journal entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts / financial management information for review by the Project Manager. This includes comparing budget with actual and reporting on any differences.
• To approve monthly petty cash reconciliations prepared by the Administrative Assistant.
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and supporting schedules for HMRC.
• Maintain and update the fixed assets register and oversee update of asset/equipment register for insurance purposes. Calculate and record depreciation.
• Prepare statutory accounts and audit schedules in conjunction with the Treasurer and Project Manager; liaise with the auditors during the annual audit as required.
• Issue sales invoices as and when required.

2. Financial Systems & Information

• Contribute to the continuous process of reviewing and updating financial systems and procedures and providing an internal audit function.
• Create and maintaining an up-to-date financial procedures manual and assist with policy review.
• Liaise with, and provide financial information, to the Board of Directors, Finance Sub-Committee, Treasurer and the Project Manager.
• Keep abreast of current legislation on charity accounting and VAT

3. Payroll

• To lead on payroll administration by ensuring sufficient funds are transferred timeously, and reporting changes to GCVS Payroll Provider including new starts, leavers, salary or hours changes, and sessional/overtime hours worked.
• To lead on pension administration including maintaining the NEST pension scheme, keeping records on deposits, new starts, leavers, salary and pensions due for each month, and ensuring payments are made timeously
• Archiving finance files post annual inspection.
• To assist with monitoring of sickness and holidays
• To assist keeping accurate records of all staff annual leave.
• To ensure records and reports on occupational sickness pay are maintained.and that staff are not overpaid.

 4. Support to Staff Team

• Assist team members in setting up and maintaining systems to meet their financial responsibilities and compliance with the accounting and reporting requirements of funders. Provide support, advice and information as required.
• Assist team with preparing and monitoring their annual budgets. Ensure that revisions to the budget are put in place.
• Review monthly management accounts and projections to year end with the Senior Staff and ascertain reasons for variances; and make amendments as required.

5. Funds & Cash Management

• Monitor bank balances in conjunction with the Project Manager ensuring that cash levels are maintained to meet payments as they are released.
• Check and release authorised payments to suppliers, staff and volunteers.
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the monthly cash flow forecast.

6. Budgeting and Project Planning

• Assist team in preparing budgets for funding applications and project proposals. Assist in maintaining the Funding spreadsheet.
• Meet with staff team to review cost centres and account codes required to meet the reporting requirements of all new grants.
• Prepare grant claims and financial reports to funders, in conjunction with Project Manager and/or other relevant staff, ensuring that progress reports reflect outputs in line with project plan and expenditure to date.
• In liaison with Project Manager, ensure that claims and reports are submitted according to the deadlines set by funders. Correspond with funders to address any queries that arise.
• Ensure that the grants ledger is kept up to date and reconciled with the nominal ledger.
• Ascertain the payment schedules for all grants receivable and update the cash flow forecast.
• Regularly review the grants ledger to ensure that grant instalments are received in accordance with the terms of all grants and liaise with funders to chase up outstanding grants / alert Project Manager.
• Prepare audit schedules and grant expenditure statements and liaise with the auditors during grant audits.
• Prepare annual budget projections, cashflows and update on a regular basis.

7. Team Working / Other

• Work co-operatively with other members of NGCFI’s team to deliver agreed objectives, including supporting volunteers relevant to role, which can include vulnerable adults.
• Attend and participate in meetings, including Finance Sub Committee, Board meetings if requested and staff meetings as required.
• Attend relevant meetings and provide regular briefings and work reports to the Project Manager and be administratively self-servicing.
• Attend training as necessary in order to meet changing needs, new technology developments and service requirements.
• Positively represent and promote NGCFI as an organisation to external agencies.
• Ensure that the NGCFI’s Financial, Equal Opportunities, health and safety, and other policies and procedures are followed through in practice.
