We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."
The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research.
The brand tone is ambitious, collaborative, rigorous, trustworthy, optimistic and resolute in pursuing a future without childhood cancer.
We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.
Job Purpose:
The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
- Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
- Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
- Monitor website and social media activity.
- Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
- Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
- Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
- Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
- Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
- Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
- Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
- Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
- Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.
- Steward and renew existing partner relationships through exceptional account management.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop co-branded campaigns, marketing assets and employee engagement initiatives.
- Track and report on fundraising activities including pipeline, projections and results.
- Develop fundraising marketing materials and content for website, social media, etc.
The person:
A highly motivated, organised, goal focused, self-starter with;
- 5+ years of corporate fundraising, sales and/or account management experience
- Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
- Experience of bid writing and supporter stewardship
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop compelling fundraising proposals and presentations.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Entrepreneurial drive and commitment to achieving targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Sound understanding of fundraising compliance and best practices.

The Community Fundraiser West will join our West region, to raise awareness, generate and grow our income through community fundraising activities.

Who we’re looking for:
A rare breed of marketer/fundraiser and data analyst, with the unique ability to analyse and interpret data, you’ll be able to tell the insight stories needed to drive and evolve campaigns and develop new products.
You’ll have a natural curiosity to explore and interrogate all the data points available to us (both on and offline), being able to clearly communicate to non-technical colleagues at all levels.
You’ll have experience of working either as part of a marketing team or directly with marketers or fundraisers, and be able to pro-actively provide insights that deliver real change.

Key accountabilities:
Use insight and analysis to inform and guide the Fundraising and CX team:
· Work with the Head of CX to manage all campaign analysis and insight projects and ensure that interpretations of the findings and insights are delivered to the appropriate stakeholders in order to inform and drive future performance and strategies
· Manage the analysis of fundraising campaigns and products, working closely with the relevant fundraising teams to identify key learning and make recommendations for future activity
· Build dashboards and ways of visualising data that fundraisers can use on a daily basis to track, report on and optimise their campaigns
· Work with others across the CX team to report against testing schedules and strategies
· Run segmentations as required for fundraising teams
· Ensure that completed insight is effectively disseminated to internal customers and that they understand and use it
· Work with the Head of CX to guide, plan and implement market research as required
· Work with the management team to ensure reporting, performance and insight is made available across the organisation for all key channels and activities eg website, CX journeys, email etc
· Stay current with legal and regulatory frameworks, including; Data Protection legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice, to ensure that all campaigns comply with current email best practice in the industry.

The way people are accessing support is evolving and we need to ensure that we are developing support services that reflect the complex needs of a brain tumour diagnosis using a range of platforms, from a traditional phone line service to innovative, engaging and instant solutions.
Supporting a wide range of people, from those who are looking for general information about treatment or care, to those who need more detailed support from the point of diagnosis, you will be passionate about improving the lives of those affected by a brain tumour. You will be comfortable providing emotional and practical support and information across different channels; capable at breaking down complex, scientific information in an accessible and personalised way and committed to developing pioneering resources to support our community in smarter ways.

Who we’re looking for:

Key accountabilities:
· Provide specialist emotional and practical support and information to people affected by brain tumours, their friends, families and carers through a variety of solutions including phone, email, webchat, online, social media plus new evolving channels
· Provide high quality information which reflects the most up to date research, clinical information and treatments, in a way people can understand. Conducting the research yourself and adapting your communication to suit the person you are supporting is key
· Offer coaching guidance to empower individuals, helping them to achieve the appropriate next steps
· Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Development Manager to recruit, train and manage volunteers who assist in delivering support services
· Lead on aspects of cross team projects and develop new resources that meet our community’s needs, while collaborating with other teams and external partners
· Identify gaps in knowledge across the Support Team and identify possible training areas
· Develop information for our website and other resources, for example, writing initial drafts and reviewing information
· Plan and facilitate online and in person events for the brain tumour community, including online meet ups for young adults
· Day to day management of our online peer support
platforms, for example our Facebook groups for Young Adults affected by a brain tumour diagnosis
· Update and maintain accurate contact information on the CRM database, producing data reports as required to evidence the impact and reach of our support services
· Identify, manage and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with The Charity guidelines
· Review day to day tasks across the Support Team

Experience:
· Background experience in a supporter, help line, health care, science or psychology related role
