The Bone Cancer Research Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising Assistant to join our fabulous Fundraising Team and to act as a first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries.
As an integral member of the Fundraising team, the Fundraising Assistant will support the delivery of a range of successful fundraising activities across the organisation, in order to maximise income for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. By providing our supporters with a first-class fundraising experience, you will give them the tools, knowledge, and materials they need to raise as much money as possible to ensure our life-saving work continues.
Our supporters are at the heart of all we do at the Bone Cancer Research Trust and the Fundraising Assistant role offers a unique opportunity to work with our fantastic fundraisers and supporters daily.
From head shaves to skydives, dress-down days to marathons, you will provide excellent stewardship support and help us to develop solid and long-lasting relationships with our supporters, groups and companies based across the UK.
This exciting role is a fantastic introduction into the wonderful world of fundraising, and it will give the successful candidate the opportunity to learn about different fundraising income streams, all whilst making a huge difference to people affected by primary bone cancer.
Duties will include:
- Providing administrative and operational support across the fundraising team;
- Developing excellent and enduring relationships with current and potential supporters;
- Supporting community-based fundraising volunteers and groups;
- Assisting with the organisation of BCRT’s fundraising campaigns and events;
- Representing BCRT at events;
- Administration of Facebook fundraisers and use of our digital platforms to thank fundraisers and record supporter data;
- Inputting accurate information into our database and maintain up-to-date records to help us make informed decisions;
- Managing stock levels and orders, liaising with suppliers, processing orders, and working with the team to ensure the fulfilment of orders.

Both Children's Homes with be working with children who have experienced trauma. Salary - £45,518per annum (£23.34ph rising to £29.18ph for weekends)

Main Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager you will manage a residential care team and have responsibility for a residential children’s home, ensuring a high-quality service within the home is developed and to perform within organisational policies and procedures, the National Minimum Standards and the legislative framework pertaining to children’s homes.
The Ideal Candidates
We are looking for existing Registered Managers or Assistant Managers, and a proven record for getting results from their staff team.
We are looking for the following:
- Registered Manager’s Award (RMA Children) (combined management & care award).
- Significant residential childcare experience
- A sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and expectations.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership.
- Ability to achieve service delivery to national standards.
- Passion to develop further services for children/young people.

About the role
As Assistant Shop Manager, you will play a key role in managing everyday operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will be involved in volunteer recruitment and management as well as processing donations, engaging with the community, and delivering the highest standard of customer service through your team. QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities. As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak. QAC offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life.
Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. Following a recent re-brand, the post holder will also be integral in ensuring an efficient and effective roll out of the new branding.
QAC also has an enterprise arm consisting of Sight Village (a touring exhibition supporting those with sight loss), All Formats (a transcription service) and Carbon Fibre Canes. These are all supported by the Marketing and Communications Team.

Hours: 37 hours per week for 52 weeks per annum
Salary: £35,885-£40,256
