Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Based across 4 residential services based in Croydon (11 minute walk from East Croydon station) you will need to be able to travel between sites during the night shift to provide full managerial support. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, supporting the night team who predominantly work Monday to Sunday 20:00 - 08:00, you will work within these hours, as well as daytime hours to attend trainings and meetings. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota.

About the role

We're looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will support the Service Manager to provide leadership and line management to a team of Night Recovery Workers and Night Concierge which totals around 10. You will be present to ensure a quality service is delivered 24 hours a day, working closely with the day teams to ensure quality handovers. 

You will provide general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles, supporting a service which focuses on Forensic Mental Health for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated individual to lead the service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. You will have knowledge around the Mental Health complexities that residents can face, and have a can-do attitude which can help empower the team to deliver their KPI's. We look for:

• Experience in working with people who have enduring mental health and complex backgrounds
• Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve KPI's
• Ability to provide advice, guidance, and support to the team on all aspects of service delivery including resident related queries
• Willingness and ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
• IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software

Role description:

We are seeking a technically excellent management accountant to play a central role in the finance team at this young and vibrant charity, preparing monthly management information to aid business decisions, and undertaking project work as requested.

Main Responsibilities:

Management Accounts preparation

• Account for accrued income and expenditure, including:

The PR and Communications Manager will explore innovative methods to promote the brand and its activities to the right audiences through targeted campaigns, significantly contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. You will be working as part of a collaborative and supportive Fundraising and Communications Team, working closely with the Brand and Marketing Manager and Director of Fundraising and Communications.

Responsibilities to Include:

PR & Media

· Enhance the charity’s profile among targeted audiences through strategic PR activities and diverse media channels, both B2C and B2B.

· Proactively cultivate, build and maintain relationships with media partners at local, regional, and national levels in both trade and consumer media, including print, online, and broadcast platforms, as well as with individual journalists.

· Write compelling and clear press releases, blogs, articles, and statements to effectively communicate our messages.

· Respond promptly to press enquiries for comments, views, and supporting information, and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics.

· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.

· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.

· Manage nominations for relevant awards to gain recognition and support for the charity.

· Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (including funders) to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.

Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors and provides an accessible therapy service. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Reception Manager is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. As part of this role, you will provide first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertake administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. Job summary

The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Duties and responsibilities

Oversee and manage the Reception Team

• Ensure Reception is always covered by organising a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.

General management of Reception

• Receive and welcome visitors.

About Social Interest Group (SIG)

SIG is a not-for-profit organisation providing thousands of people with good-quality support and care in residential, drop-in centres, community floating support settings (including people's own homes), probation settings, and hospitals awaiting discharge. We do so across London, Brighton, Bedfordshire, Luton, and Kent. We believe in the power of well-planned, well-managed services to make a difference.
