Our Carer Liaison Workers work within both local NHS Trusts (BRI and Southmead Hospitals), where they make a real difference, supporting adult carers – those who care for others who can’t manage without their help, when the person they care for goes into hospital.

You would provide information, advice and support, enabling carers to navigate their way through the intricacies of the hospital journey, whilst liaising with health and social care professionals to ensure the carers voice is heard and their needs are supported, including during discharge planning.

You would also work with hospital staff to improve their knowledge and experience of supporting carers, through development work and training.

You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time for our charity. Having recently secured our core statutory income for the next 3 to 5 years we’re now looking to use that as a launchpad to grow and develop new and existing services.

The Mulberry Centre’s vision is to be known and respected by everyone living or working within reach of our services who may become affected by cancer.All the services at The Mulberry Centre are geared towards supporting the physical and emotional needs of someone following a cancer diagnosis or at end of life, including their carers, families and friends who also might have to stop working to look after them. It can be difficult to know where to start and what you are entitled to, but we are here to help them every step of the way. To assist us in this endeavour, we are looking for an experienced full-time Welfare and Benefits Information Lead.  You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary.  Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.

This vital role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has excellent communication skills, being able to deal with complex matters effectively both verbally and in writing.  You will need to understand the issues involved in interviewing people within a time defined period. The ideal applicant will have emotional resilience to deal with people who have experienced cancer or bereavement. An empathetic and compassionate approach is important.  The Welfare Benefits Information Lead will be at the forefront of our client-based services and need to be self-motivated and have a positive and flexible attitude.

Salary: (Salary Band 2.1) Unqualified applicants, £27,582.75 – £29,174.06 per annum £16,549.65- £17,504.44 pro rata at 22.5 hours per week

Women in this Project will also receive resettlement support and may remain within the Borough of Enfield or be moved out of borough as part of planned move on.

About the Role

The resettlement Floating Support Worker will provide resettlement support to residents moving out of the Amari Project and from Pan London refuges. You will provide fortnightly case work to residents in their move on accommodation.

You will provide holistic support including tenancy sustainment support and advocacy support to establish and maintain partnership working .You will be responsible for providing data and any statistical information for monitoring returns and in collating

About You

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation. You will be required to have an awareness of the impacts of trauma on survivors of domestic abuse.  

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plans and support them in linking with other agencies.

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing training.

Outside of this, you will have excellent administrative and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

Housing First is a new approach to supporting the most entrenched, excluded and hard to reach service users. It focuses on finding permanent housing as quickly as possible and then addressing the issues that have contributed to an individual’s homelessness.

‘I want someone who I can do nice things with, too, not someone who just talks about what has gone wrong, or drugs and other things……I think about those negatives all the time anyway and I want a worker who I can feel positive with, happy’ (service user supported by another Housing First Project).

About the Role

Assist in the day-to-day delivery of the service, managing a small service user caseload with the overall goal of supporting these women to sustain a (new) tenancy

Provide trauma-informed, solution-focused support to service users, tailored to individual needs and aspirations, with service users being able to choose as far as possible, what, how and when support is delivered

Advocate where appropriate on behalf of service users with external agencies regarding their welfare rights, Primary Health Care needs and other issues affecting their health and well being

Promote social inclusion, encourage independence and develop personal resilience of women with multiple needs affected by violence

Maintain accurate case notes and up to date records

Attend and contribute to multi agency safeguarding meetings e.g. MARAC, as appropriate

About You

Some experience in providing emotional and/or practical support to women who have experienced VAWG, homelessness or multiple disadvantage

Knowledge of the particular needs of women from diverse communities and the barriers to accessing support faced by black and minoritized women

Experience of working in partnerships with other agencies e.g. signposting, making referrals, supporting with appointments

An understanding of the impact of trauma on women experiencing abuse

Awareness of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and VAWG, and an understanding of how the intersection of these issues can make it difficult for people to engage with support

A good knowledge of safeguarding practice and procedures

Ability to provide strengths based support.

A resilient and assertive approach to reaching out to and building trust and positive relationships with women who have complex/multiple needs and who may present as reluctant to engage and/or may be presenting in crisis

Excellent organisational, ICT, written and verbal communication skills

About the role 

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Bid Manager who can actively craft commercial tender submissions and work with the team to ensure we submit high-quality, winning bids within UK government procurement rules.

You will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate and lead bid-writing across the organisation, line-managing a team of Bid Writers and working closely with other colleagues across Business Development, Marketing and Operations.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £44,500 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. This role is a fixed term maternity cover role for 9 months (with possible extension).

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

Salary: £31,200 - £34,736

Alongside student leaders and staff, the Social Policy Lead ensures that the Guild is an expert on the issues that affect Exeter students, so that student leaders are empowered to advocate for change and help all students to Love Exeter.

You will lead research into issues impacting students during their studies, such as such as housing, finances, health, wellbeing and safety, and share insights and knowledge with colleagues and students that enables them to drive belonging, provide support and empower students to make change. The role also plays a key part in ensuring colleagues and students have the skills to interpret policies and influence change.

About the Service

The Refuge Service provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. Refuge Case workers provide emotional and practical support this can include housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits, financial advice and accessing therapeutic support services.

About the Role

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting working across two sites.  You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan, and support them in linking with other agencies.  

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

In addition to case management, you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the refuges.  You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to truly make a role your own and get involved in the project from the start, which will be supporting 10 adults with mild/moderate to severe learning disabilities, as well as additional mental and physical health needs.

You will play a pivotal ambassadorial role, spearheading Centre’s 404 service expansion into the London Brough of Brent and bringing our expertise, vision and values to families in need.

This varied and dynamic role will lead on the set up, coordination and provision of excellent person-centred care and support to service users, enabling them to live independently in their home and be supported in all aspects of day-to-day living. As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support to meet individual needs. You will also contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of support workers.

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and coaching a team supporting people with learning disabilities or another vulnerable client group. Experience of supporting people with high and complex support needs would be an advantage. Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. You will carry a caseload of clients who you will formulate a comprehensive support and safety plan with, which forms part of the ongoing casework, promoting independence and preparing young people for moving into independent accommodation, and employment and education.

As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.
