Purpose of the Post/Responsibilities

This is a full-time position reporting directly into the CEO/CFO with an expectation of being on site in the award-winning Caudwell International Children’s Centre in Staffordshire a minimum of 3 days a week, depending on meetings and events.  We are seeking an inspirational leader with the ability to identify opportunities and grow diverse income lines to support the Charity’s expanding service delivery.

Responsible for the strategic management and development of the Charity’s income generation, this role will play a pivotal part in taking the Charity to the next level and helping to change the lives of disabled children across the UK and beyond.

The successful candidate will oversee the main public-facing fundraising activity for the Charity, providing strategic leadership and tactical supervision to a growing team of Fundraisers.

You will be expected to develop a robust and diverse fundraising portfolio across several designated income strands to generate increasing levels of fundraising income year-on-year.

It has been recognised that the Charity currently has minimal market share in most standard charity income lines and this role will be fundamental in developing the required infrastructure, resource and ‘products’ to begin growing market share over the medium to long term.

A primary responsibility of the role will be to assess, develop and implement a new donor management system; ensuring new and existing supporters have a clear communication and cultivation journey with assigned fundraisers adopting relationship responsibilities throughout.

The required standard levels of customer service and donor management for all supporter relations across the Charity will be established and promoted to ensure the required levels of consistency.

This growth will occur while maintaining and strengthening the established income lines which already exist, such as Events and Challenges.

Events are a part of Caudwell Children’s DNA and the single largest income generator in the Charity’s Fundraising Department, therefore there will be a specific focus on maintaining and developing this important department.

The role will initially be responsible for developing two designated teams of fundraising colleagues:

• Individual Giving (Team size: 3)
  • (Wills & Legacy, Regular Gifts/Direct Debit, Major Gifts, Raffle/Lottery, Payroll Giving).
• Community Fundraising (Team size: 6)
  • (Events, Challenges, Mass Participation, Street Collections).

Remaining income streams (Trusts & Foundations, Public Sector Funding, Earned Income and Trading Income) will be managed by the Director of Corporate Fundraising.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting to the CEO/CFO and fellow Directors regularly on strategy and performance.

Monthly reporting to the Trustee Board and regular ad-hoc correspondence with Trustees will also be required.  

Success will be monitored annually by the Trustee Board against KPI’s including income growth, ROI and market share. 

Person Specification

1. Significant experience in fundraising/sales/business development management.
2. Demonstrable understanding of the charity sector and professional fundraising. 
3. Enthusiastic advocate of business planning and sales management.
4. Considerable experience and competence in planning, developing and managing the operations of a successful Sales/Fundraising Team.
5. Experience and skill in new business development.
6. Willingness and ability to undertake basic administrative activities (not expecting of others what you would not do yourself).
7. Highly computer literate with strong competence in using mainstream computing packages and products.
8. Driven, proactive and productive self-starter – able to work efficiently and achieve a lot under their own steam but not afraid to ask questions when needed and manage up.
9. An enthusiastic, driven and sensitive leader – able to inspire and encourage others to give their best.

Salary for this role is £70k to £80k depending on experience plus bonus and car allowance.

Kingston Charitable Foundation (Kingston CF) is growing - in 3 years we’ve doubled our staff team thanks to a grant from the City Bridge Foundation and to date we’ve awarded over 130 grants to local charities, and community groups, who share our vision to build stronger communities where everyone’s needs are met.  We are a Place Based Giving scheme that is part of the London Funders movement.

You’ll have innovative ideas to help us to secure new partnerships and nurture new and existing relationships to mobilise local giving. As an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts or corporate partnerships at the four figure level, you’ll have a can-do attitude and a capability for developing strong networks and contacts.

You will be outcome orientated and a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills too.

Experience

• At least three years of proven successful experience in major gifts or corporate partnerships fundraising of four figures or more.
• Proven ability to manage and develop diverse relationships.
• Excellent written and oral English language communication skills.
• Experience in writing and delivering persuasive copy for supporters.
• Thorough understanding of data protection and, specifically, UK GDPR requirements pertaining to fundraising and sponsorship work.
• Full understanding of fundraising guidelines the code of fundraising practice.
• Experience of using Salesforce or a similar CRM.

Essential skills

• Have excellent IT skills, including Office 365 / Excel.
• Have good communication and presentation skills.

Kingston CF have no formal offices, this role is primarily home-based, with meetings in Kingston upon Thames and co-working days.

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston. In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024).

You will manage a team of two with the support from the Head of Fundraising, with whom you will work closely with to develop a series of targeted multi-channelled appeals and campaigns to engage with existing supporters and to attract, recruit and retain new ones.

You will be confident in handling and interrogating data, utilising your experience to deliver insight led creative campaigns across several channels. You will use data to test and learn through the delivery of persuasive and compelling appeals and campaigns - aiming to grow supporter loyalty and inspire repeat donations.

The delivery of exceptional supporter care and stewardship is paramount in this role, the post holder will require excellent communication skills to help deepen engagement strategies with supporters and work with an ambitious, positive, and creative approach - with experience in working collaboratively organisation wide.

Key responsibilities

Planning and implementation Support the Head of Fundraising to plan, lead, implement, and evaluate strategies to:

• Increase individual gifts through enhancing the supporter donor journey.

• Develop new individual giving appeals and campaigns with a focus on direct marketing across various channels to engage with new and existing supporters to generate new income.

• Working with the communications team to design a multi-channelled approach to maximise the reach to the appropriate audiences.

• Develop the required tools and mechanisms to ensure ease of engagement.

• Design and implement a stewardship programme that cultivates long term support across all fundraising streams.

• Work across teams to raise the profile of the charity and its appeals and fundraising activities.

Donor data analysis and segmentation Analyse and segment the supporter base to develop targeted supporter journeys and ask strategies, using donor data from our CRM to:

• Maximise the lifetime value of donors.

• Ensure effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.

• Manage a continuous cycle of testing for new channels and techniques for acquisition and retention, based on audience insight and sector trends.

• Work with the Head of Fundraising to produce regular feedback reports and analysis.

• Ensure all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM system.

• Maximise gift aid opportunities.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

· providing a public rescue, rehabilitation, and release service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife.

· providing a learning and outreach programme, public education, and access to a unique wildlife experience.

To maximise the potential funding available for Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR), particularly through obtaining grants from trusts, foundations, local authorities and other sources.

This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity. 

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities,  budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.

Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity. 

Fundraising is integrated into every part of SWWR’s operations. The Fundraising Manager works closely with colleagues in Education, Retail, Events, Finance, Volunteering, and Wildlife Care to understand their needs and provide support to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.

SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community/Events fundraiser, who has a passion for the cause of homelessness. You will continue to build a sustainable Events & Community fundraising programme. The role will involve building relationships with donors and fundraisers to increase income from corporates, individuals, and legacies. 

This role plays a pivotal role in growing York Road Project’s voluntary income as well as raising awareness and brand recognition in our local area. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive and Fundraising sub-committee to develop and implement a fundraising strategy and execution plan that meet the organisation's income targets.

• Support the Chief Executive in building relationships with major donors.

• Proactively seek out and develop new funding opportunities, with an emphasis on chasing opportunities for long-term and unrestricted income. 

• Develop a York Road Project annual fundraising event/campaign, overseeing all administrative tasks, such as mailing list preparation, guest lists, and distribution on campaign items.

• Encourage supporters to leave legacies in their wills to support the work of the organisation.

• Accurately record and manage donor data, keeping records up-to-date and GDPR compliant.

• Promote the idea of regular donations to our ad-hoc donors.

• Stay current on fundraising trends and techniques, act as the charity’s thought-leading expert, and drive these trends and techniques into the organisation's fundraising activities.

• Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulation and ethical 

standards; for example, The Fundraising Regulator, The Charity Commission etc.

• Create marketing and promotional material in accordance with York Road Project branding, to support fundraising activities as required.

• Develop a volunteer program to enhance community involvement and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. These activities will be fundraising related, in order to engage local businesses.

• Identify opportunities to develop funding support from companies and organisations to elicit support (at local, regional, and national levels).

• Manage low risk press releases and enquiries.

• Create content for social media (and other digital channels) while always ensuring consistency in line with brand guidelines. 

• Plan and drive digital campaigns including Small Charity Week and World Homeless Day.

As our Senior Marketing Executive- Mass Fundraising Acquisition, you will help deliver sector-leading, inspirational, and valuable marketing campaigns that inspire new and potential supporters to support the charity.

You will engage and mobilise both individuals and communities to support British Heart Foundation's (BHF) strategy to fund lifesaving research through fundraising and engagement.

You will assist the team in implementing the strategy for Individual Giving, Lottery, Legacy, and Events, managing your own portfolio, and serving as the point of contact for stakeholders and partners.

Focused on driving income by recruiting thousands of new supporters, you work in a rotational matrix-managed team, gaining experience of multiple Mass Fundraising products.

Working with BHF’s agencies on both large scale and always on campaigns, this role will be responsible for managing the delivery and monitoring the results of the campaigns with support from marketing managers.

This is an amazing opportunity to develop multi-channel marketing campaigns across a number of products.

This role requires some travel across the U.K. to attend stakeholder and partner meetings.

Working arrangements

This is a 14-month fixed-term contract covering a secondment.

This is a blended role where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you

You have significant direct marketing experience, preferably within the charity sector, and are an excellent campaign manager. You also have knowledge of recurring revenue models and are an experienced project manager.

A strong negotiator who has experience managing multiple third-party agencies, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and is an excellent copywriter.

You are motivated to exceed targets and have experience working in a fast-moving marketing team, which enables you to work at pace and manage a high workload.

As a highly numerate strategic thinker, you can set long-term and short-term objectives, manipulate and analyse data across a variety of media, and use your own initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems.

You’ll also have experience with:

This role is offered on a permanent basis paying a salary of £38,205- £44,263 per annum. This is a flexible hybrid role where you can work between home and Aberystwyth University.

The post holder will develop and lead a challenging programme of long and short-term plans and activities to ensure income targets from major donations (both in lifetime and gifts in wills) to the University. They will manage a small, but motivated team of fundraising professionals. The post-holder will work with major donors and legacy prospects within the University’s 100,000 alumni community as well as with other supporters at local, national, UK and international levels.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of securing a six or seven figure gift from an individual, from initiating first contact to cultivation, through to gift agreement. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering major donor plans and programmes targeted at those capable of giving £100,000+ and achieving philanthropic income targets. They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of producing proactive legacy giving strategies leading to an increase in enquiries and pledges and reporting on progress. Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.

During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.

We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.

Finance System Implementation Manager - Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Band 8a £50,000 - £57,3000 plus Excellent NHS Benefits ; hybrid working 2/3 days a week on site

This postholder will play the lead role in implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (General Ledger, Sourcing to Pay & Revenue to Cash including Electronic Document Interfaces, fixed asset register, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will interface to other internal systems, in order to link activity to income and cost.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post

• Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Management, this post will take the financial lead on implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (GL, P2P including EDI, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will involve working closely with the Procurement Team within the Trust's Finance Shared Service.

• Develop an understanding of the financial requirements of the Trust and map these to the system

• Identifying as-is processes and working to improve these ahead of system implementation, such that opportunities for governance improvements and financial efficiencies are highlighted, implemented and monitored for success. This will include setting up and supporting finance system review groups for each module of the system and regular communication with key stakeholders

• Manage the day-to-day running of the project implementation in accordance with project parameters and a robust governance framework. This includes managing the Finance System Implementation Project Manager to ensure delivery of the project to agreed timescales.

• Convene and support the Finance System Review Project Meetings and ensure appropriate resources are available to take minutes, manage action logs and prepare agendas. Establish, organise, chair if appropriate and attend various project meetings aligning support as necessary.

• Develop and maintain project documentation as required including: project plans, highlight reports, financial reports, timelines, risk and/or issue registers etc in line with Trust systems, templates and processes.

• Deliver appropriate reporting on project progress in accordance with agreed project parameters, including ensuring remedial action is taken where necessary, and that the business case is regularly monitored against for costs and forecasts.

• Develop other documents as required, including: MoUs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, etc and ensuring they meet the requirements of the project and associated programmes of work.

• Ensure adequate staff involvement and engagement in the project.

• Be accountable for ensuring the successful implementation of the project to the highest possible standards.

The position

To support the Financial Controller in running efficient and effective financial processing, financial controls, financial reporting and monitoring on all AKF (UK) income. To maintain a close working relationship with other AKF (UK) employees and provide cover for the Finance Officer (Expenditure).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Financial processing

• Process donations received directly into AKF (UK)’s bank accounts into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
• Process donations received through the AKF (UK) website into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately, including ad hoc and standing order donations.
• Process donations received from online fundraising websites into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
• Process monthly donations from Jamatkhanas into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
• Process all non-donation related income received into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
• Manage receipts of legacy income, ensuring full documentation and prompt transfer to AKF Geneva.
• Ensure all cheques and cash received are banked promptly.
• Ensure funds received for other AKDN agencies are transferred on a quarterly basis.
• Post all supplier invoices and supplier payments relating to Victoria Hall into Microsoft Dynamics.
• Prepare periodic statements relating to fundraising campaigns and share these with relevant individual donors.
• To provide cover for the following tasks owned by the Finance Officer (Expenditure).
• Ensure supplier invoices are authorised by the relevant budget holder and entered into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
• Prepare payments on online banking system and ensure payment paperwork is sent to the bank signatories in good time.
• Process all bank payments, interest payments, deposit movements and bank charges into Microsoft Dynamics.

Financial administration

• Manage the donations inbox and liaise with donors and prospective donors to provide information and respond to queries.
• Ensure Raiser’s Edge is up to date with key donor information and standing data.
• Prepare and send letters to donors to acknowledge donations received, on a timely basis.
• Inform the AKF (UK) National Committee Chairman of all donations greater than £10k.
• Ensure AKF (UK) Gift Aid declaration forms are up to date and in line with current legislation.
• Prepare and submit the online Gift Aid claims on a quarterly basis.
• Provide assistance with the annual audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts.

• Complete the reconciliation of Raiser’s Edge to Microsoft Dynamics and to the bank on a monthly basis.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Complete the reconciliation of all funds received for other AKDN agencies on a monthly basis.
• Complete other balance sheet reconciliations as required by the Financial Controller.

Income reporting

• Produce monthly reports for AKF Geneva on Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee donations.
• Produce monthly reports for other AKDN agencies on donations designated to them by AKF (UK).
• Produce other ad-hoc reports on income as requested by the Financial Controller.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).

Experience

• Minimum of three years hands-on experience in financial accounting.
• Advanced experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems.
• Experience working in a multi-currency environment (desirable).
• Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of such requirements.
• Experience working as part of a small hands-on team.
• Experience of filing Gift Aid claims.

Skills

• Good interpersonal, customer care and liaison skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong numerate skills with acute attention to detail.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

The post holder will develop and present compelling and creative proposals through face-to-face meetings within the UK and internationally, presentations and fundraising events and written publications.

They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of systematically approaching, cultivating, soliciting, and securing five figure gifts from major donor prospects. The ideal candidate will have experience of fundraising in a Higher Education context and demonstrate an on-going commitment to learn Welsh to C1 level.

This position will require both English and Welsh written and spoken communication (B2 Level).
