Purpose of the Post/Responsibilities
This is a full-time position reporting directly into the CEO/CFO with an expectation of being on site in the award-winning Caudwell International Children’s Centre in Staffordshire a minimum of 3 days a week, depending on meetings and events. We are seeking an inspirational leader with the ability to identify opportunities and grow diverse income lines to support the Charity’s expanding service delivery.
Responsible for the strategic management and development of the Charity’s income generation, this role will play a pivotal part in taking the Charity to the next level and helping to change the lives of disabled children across the UK and beyond.
The successful candidate will oversee the main public-facing fundraising activity for the Charity, providing strategic leadership and tactical supervision to a growing team of Fundraisers.
You will be expected to develop a robust and diverse fundraising portfolio across several designated income strands to generate increasing levels of fundraising income year-on-year.
It has been recognised that the Charity currently has minimal market share in most standard charity income lines and this role will be fundamental in developing the required infrastructure, resource and ‘products’ to begin growing market share over the medium to long term.
A primary responsibility of the role will be to assess, develop and implement a new donor management system; ensuring new and existing supporters have a clear communication and cultivation journey with assigned fundraisers adopting relationship responsibilities throughout.
The required standard levels of customer service and donor management for all supporter relations across the Charity will be established and promoted to ensure the required levels of consistency.
This growth will occur while maintaining and strengthening the established income lines which already exist, such as Events and Challenges.
Events are a part of Caudwell Children’s DNA and the single largest income generator in the Charity’s Fundraising Department, therefore there will be a specific focus on maintaining and developing this important department.
The role will initially be responsible for developing two designated teams of fundraising colleagues:
- Individual Giving (Team size: 3)
- (Wills & Legacy, Regular Gifts/Direct Debit, Major Gifts, Raffle/Lottery, Payroll Giving).
- Community Fundraising (Team size: 6)
- (Events, Challenges, Mass Participation, Street Collections).
Remaining income streams (Trusts & Foundations, Public Sector Funding, Earned Income and Trading Income) will be managed by the Director of Corporate Fundraising.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting to the CEO/CFO and fellow Directors regularly on strategy and performance.
Monthly reporting to the Trustee Board and regular ad-hoc correspondence with Trustees will also be required.
Success will be monitored annually by the Trustee Board against KPI’s including income growth, ROI and market share.
Person Specification
- Significant experience in fundraising/sales/business development management.
- Demonstrable understanding of the charity sector and professional fundraising.
- Enthusiastic advocate of business planning and sales management.
- Considerable experience and competence in planning, developing and managing the operations of a successful Sales/Fundraising Team.
- Experience and skill in new business development.
- Willingness and ability to undertake basic administrative activities (not expecting of others what you would not do yourself).
- Highly computer literate with strong competence in using mainstream computing packages and products.

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston. In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024).

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

About you
You have significant direct marketing experience, preferably within the charity sector, and are an excellent campaign manager. You also have knowledge of recurring revenue models and are an experienced project manager.
A strong negotiator who has experience managing multiple third-party agencies, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and is an excellent copywriter.
You are motivated to exceed targets and have experience working in a fast-moving marketing team, which enables you to work at pace and manage a high workload.
As a highly numerate strategic thinker, you can set long-term and short-term objectives, manipulate and analyse data across a variety of media, and use your own initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems.

Founded in 1872, Aberystwyth University (Prifysgol Aberystwyth) is a public research university in Aberystwyth, Wales. This role is offered on a permanent basis paying a salary of £38,205- £44,263 per annum. This is a flexible hybrid role where you can work between home and Aberystwyth University.
The post holder will develop and lead a challenging programme of long and short-term plans and activities to ensure income targets from major donations (both in lifetime and gifts in wills) to the University. They will manage a small, but motivated team of fundraising professionals. The post-holder will work with major donors and legacy prospects within the University’s 100,000 alumni community as well as with other supporters at local, national, UK and international levels.
They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of securing a six or seven figure gift from an individual, from initiating first contact to cultivation, through to gift agreement. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering major donor plans and programmes targeted at those capable of giving £100,000+ and achieving philanthropic income targets. They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of producing proactive legacy giving strategies leading to an increase in enquiries and pledges and reporting on progress. The ideal candidate will have experience of fundraising in a Higher Education context and demonstrate an on-going commitment to learn Welsh to A2 level.

Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.
During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.

Finance System Implementation Manager - Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

This postholder will play the lead role in implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (General Ledger, Sourcing to Pay & Revenue to Cash including Electronic Document Interfaces, fixed asset register, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will interface to other internal systems, in order to link activity to income and cost.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
- Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Management, this post will take the financial lead on implementing and integrating a Cloud ERP accounting software package (GL, P2P including EDI, budgeting and forecasting) to replace the current legacy accounting software package, aligning Gloucestershire NHS FT entities on the same platform. This will involve working closely with the Procurement Team within the Trust's Finance Shared Service.
- Develop an understanding of the financial requirements of the Trust and map these to the system
- Identifying as-is processes and working to improve these ahead of system implementation, such that opportunities for governance improvements and financial efficiencies are highlighted, implemented and monitored for success. This will include setting up and supporting finance system review groups for each module of the system and regular communication with key stakeholders
- Manage the day-to-day running of the project implementation in accordance with project parameters and a robust governance framework. This includes managing the Finance System Implementation Project Manager to ensure delivery of the project to agreed timescales.
- Convene and support the Finance System Review Project Meetings and ensure appropriate resources are available to take minutes, manage action logs and prepare agendas. Establish, organise, chair if appropriate and attend various project meetings aligning support as necessary.
- Develop and maintain project documentation as required including: project plans, highlight reports, financial reports, timelines, risk and/or issue registers etc in line with Trust systems, templates and processes.
- Deliver appropriate reporting on project progress in accordance with agreed project parameters, including ensuring remedial action is taken where necessary, and that the business case is regularly monitored against for costs and forecasts.
- Develop other documents as required, including: MoUs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, etc and ensuring they meet the requirements of the project and associated programmes of work.
- Ensure adequate staff involvement and engagement in the project.
- Be accountable for ensuring the successful implementation of the project to the highest possible standards.

The position
To support the Financial Controller in running efficient and effective financial processing, financial controls, financial reporting and monitoring on all AKF (UK) income. To maintain a close working relationship with other AKF (UK) employees and provide cover for the Finance Officer (Expenditure).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Financial processing
- Process donations received directly into AKF (UK)’s bank accounts into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process donations received through the AKF (UK) website into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately, including ad hoc and standing order donations.
- Process donations received from online fundraising websites into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process monthly donations from Jamatkhanas into Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Process all non-donation related income received into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Manage receipts of legacy income, ensuring full documentation and prompt transfer to AKF Geneva.
- Ensure all cheques and cash received are banked promptly.
- Ensure funds received for other AKDN agencies are transferred on a quarterly basis.
- Post all supplier invoices and supplier payments relating to Victoria Hall into Microsoft Dynamics.
- Prepare periodic statements relating to fundraising campaigns and share these with relevant individual donors.
- To provide cover for the following tasks owned by the Finance Officer (Expenditure).
- Ensure supplier invoices are authorised by the relevant budget holder and entered into Microsoft Dynamics promptly and accurately.
- Prepare payments on online banking system and ensure payment paperwork is sent to the bank signatories in good time.
- Process all bank payments, interest payments, deposit movements and bank charges into Microsoft Dynamics.
Financial administration
- Manage the donations inbox and liaise with donors and prospective donors to provide information and respond to queries.
- Ensure Raiser’s Edge is up to date with key donor information and standing data.
- Prepare and send letters to donors to acknowledge donations received, on a timely basis.
- Inform the AKF (UK) National Committee Chairman of all donations greater than £10k.
- Ensure AKF (UK) Gift Aid declaration forms are up to date and in line with current legislation.
- Prepare and submit the online Gift Aid claims on a quarterly basis.
- Provide assistance with the annual audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts.
- Financial controls
- Complete the reconciliation of Raiser’s Edge to Microsoft Dynamics and to the bank on a monthly basis.
- Complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Complete the reconciliation of all funds received for other AKDN agencies on a monthly basis.
- Complete other balance sheet reconciliations as required by the Financial Controller.
Income reporting
- Produce monthly reports for AKF Geneva on Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee donations.
- Produce monthly reports for other AKDN agencies on donations designated to them by AKF (UK).
- Produce other ad-hoc reports on income as requested by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications
- CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).
Experience
- Minimum of three years hands-on experience in financial accounting.
- Advanced experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems.
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment (desirable).
- Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of such requirements.
- Experience working as part of a small hands-on team.
- Experience of filing Gift Aid claims.
Skills
- Good interpersonal, customer care and liaison skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong numerate skills with acute attention to detail.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines.

They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of systematically approaching, cultivating, soliciting, and securing five figure gifts from major donor prospects. The ideal candidate will have experience of fundraising in a Higher Education context and demonstrate an on-going commitment to learn Welsh to C1 level.
This position will require both English and Welsh written and spoken communication (B2 Level).
