Our charity-sector client is seeking an experienced Individual Giving Manager to join their Fundraising, Engagement & Communications team for approximately 2 months.

This is a hands-on role, leading all aspects of individual giving fundraising (excluding major donors and digital) — from delivering direct mail appeals to managing donor stewardship and supporting key fundraising events. As an Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer, under the supervision of the Head of the Partnerships and Fundraising section, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow individual donor revenue, both through direct relationship management and digital campaigns. Light Up Learning is a Scottish charity providing bespoke support for high school students. We are dedicated to igniting a love of learning in young people and transforming the nature of education in Scotland.

Our programme aims to address issues of unequal access to education and disengagement in the classroom by creating low-stress, supportive, and playful learning environments for young people who have experienced disadvantage. Through creative, one-to-one mentoring relationships, our team helps young people rediscover their curiosity, build confidence, and imagine a future they genuinely want to work towards.

We currently work in 12 schools in Lothian and Borders and are looking to grow and build new partnerships with other schools across Scotland. We want to reach more students, nurture their curiosity, and provide the resources they need to succeed. To do this, we need further funding and the newly-created role of Head of Fundraising will play a key part in achieving this growth.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to oversee all aspects of high-value income generation, primarily focussing on HNWIs, leading to a doubling of our income by 2030. This role will report directly to the Chair with a dotted line to our Founder, and will manage the relationship with the Consultant we have engaged to write grant applications. The role will be very hands-on, and the right candidate will thrive off working alongside a entrepreneurial and passionate team. You will be a self-starter with the hunger and curiosity to build activity and relationships, and make a strong personal impact.

Our partner seeks a driven and astute grants finance officer to support in the financial management and monitoring of projects being implemented in Asia, Africa and Latin America. This is a newly created position, and will suit someone who is meticulous, has strong attention to detail and able to manage relationships with a number of global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial transactions and entries, prepare and process income receipts and maintain accurate digital records and ensure proper filing of all financial documentation on internal systems.
• Review, verify, and process payments to suppliers and sub-grantees, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and compliant with internal controls.
• Create and close financial grants for codes; monitor and update internal trackers for grant management; track and report balances across active grants and funding streams; and complete grant reconciliations.
• Support in the preparation of donor reports, in the implementation of donor compliance controls, and in the preparation for any donor audits.
• Lead in preparing sub-grantee agreements, and processing of cash requests.
• Support organisational and sub-grantee understanding of and adherence to polices, procedures and compliance requirements.  

Requirements

• PQ accountant with experience of working in an international organisation working across multiple countries. Strong experience of accounts processing, financial accounting and reporting, and of supporting budgeting and financial management.
• Experience and understanding of the compliance and administrative of a complex grants portfolio, including grants from institutions donors.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with colleagues working globally.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and a strong command of the English language.
• Able to prioritise effectively, manage a varied workload and meeting deadlines.

This is a permanent role; the candidate will need to have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship. The organisation offers hybrid working with the candidate expected to be in the London office at least 2 days/week
