At Mosaic - Supporting Bereaved Children, we are clear that our mission is to enable children and young people who have lost someone very close to them to come to terms with their grief in a positive and caring way.  Our work transforms young lives and we'd like you to be part of this.

We are looking for a passionate individual to help tell our story to the local and wider community about what we are doing, and how we transform young lives. We provide counselling to more than 400 children and young people every year, and support many more families and professionals through our uplifting weekend activities, and education programmes.  This role -engaging, communicating, campaigning - is simply vital to our success.

 This is a new post for Mosaic so the individual will have a chance to shape the strategy, advise the CEO and Trustees about our communications and marketing, and be part of a friendly and highly motivated team of 13 (mostly part-time) staff, working on events and activities, fundraising, counselling, training and education.

What you will do

The role will involve:

Researching and adivising on how we best engage with our audiences such as our volunteers, families and other charities through different channels and approaches.

Creating a communications strategy which will strengthen our profile, and improve our website's content, look and feel to ensure more clarity about what we do, more reach and impact

Developing our social media content with the team, thinking about how young people use it and producing metrics on this.  Work with our young people, volunteers and others to create fantastic video content to show our impact.

Leading campaigns for Mosaic, driving impactful communication and building partnerships with the media and other organisations across Dorset to support our mission.

Be part of the team effort to create an overall five-year strategy for Mosaic as we grow, thinking about how we demonstrate our impact and the great relationship we have with schools and charity bodies across the county.

Create press releases and moments where we can tell everyone about the work we're doing, and supporting national campaigns on child bereavement.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience of working in communications, preferably with some marketing experience.

A good track record  of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective awareness campaigns

Experience of working with different  platforms, including Meta and TikTok.

Experience in analysing group to create tailored user-journeys

An understanding of media and confidence to engage with them at a local and regional level

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Queen’s Award winning charity supporting unpaid carers in the London borough of Redbridge.  You will give advice and information to carers and work closely with them to develop person centred support plans.  You will work within a Community Support Team to deliver peer support groups, wellbeing activities, advice surgeries, outreach and events across the borough.

The Role

There’s no such thing as a typical day in the LionHeart support services team as the cases we support are as individual as everyone who calls us. We support people from the very beginning of their careers as graduate surveyors or apprentices, through to retirement and beyond. You could be supporting someone through illness or work-related stress, arranging legal support or counselling, or helping someone who’s been out of work become more confident in their interview skills.

You'll operate the helpline on a rotational basis, providing information, advice and support for the professionals who get in touch, no matter what challenge they are facing. You will manage your own caseload, providing a tailored package of support to meet need and encourage steps towards independence - ranging from people who need short-term help and advice or access to a single service, to more complex situations where you may work with someone over several months providing multiple services.

We’re looking for someone who is well-organised and can work independently, yet is a good team player who can work with colleagues and external partners to provide the best support possible for RICS professionals and their families.

We want someone who has at least three years’ experience of working/ volunteering in a supportive role with members of the public, with excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. Most important of all is the ability to deal compassionately with individuals, while maintaining confidentiality at all times especially when handling sensitive information.

Fundraising Officer – Grants and Events

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives.

Our background:

Parents 1st UK is dedicated to enabling quality peer support to flourish during pregnancy, birth and beyond. The evidence is clear - effective and sustainable peer support nurtures the emotional wellbeing of mothers, fathers, partners, and babies, and builds strengths in communities. We work both locally and nationally to achieve this aim.

Our national work: Through an ‘open source’ online community platform, we provide all the resources necessary to set up a perinatal peer support initiative. Freely sharing all the tools that our local programme (Parents 1st Essex) uses in daily practice, from budget setting to volunteer training guides and impact tracking. Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.

Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.

Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

• Administering personnel forms associated with volunteer progression

Requirements needed to become our Volunteer Support Officer:

• Computer literacy: strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and experience of web based information systems
• Experience of working in a customer focused role, including handling a wide range of enquiries by phone and email, and handling challenging phone calls and emails
• Experience of using data protection procedures

The Business Support hub provides a high quality, flexible and effective business support to the Dementia Support and Partnership team. The Business Support Officer is responsible for delivering this aim by providing an efficient, high quality business support service. Business Support Officers will ensure that Society wide information systems and processes are followed consistently and will work closely with other teams to ensure a seamless, integrated service to support Dementia Support and Partnerships functions.

About you

You will be well responsible for providing a comprehensive range of business support service to the Dementia Support and Partnership team. No two days are the same, you could be organising Zoom meetings in the morning, moving onto producing commissioner reports after lunch and end the day supporting the safeguarding team.

You will:

- Be well organised, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Be confident in using Microsoft Office, especially Teams and Outlook as well as a having a good understanding of Zoom.
- Have an understanding of good practice in customer care.
- Have experience of creating, developing and implementing office and electronic systems and procedures
- Be open to new ways of working, learning new tasks and skills.

You will be part of a geographically dispersed team serving the needs of a national team.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

For over 40 years, Being There, a medium sized charity, has provided practical, emotional and social support to those affected by life limiting illnesses across much of Greater Manchester. The services of the charity are delivered by an enthusiastic cohort of volunteers managed by an established and capable management team.

After steering Being There though the Pandemic and the recent economic impact on charities, our long serving CEO, Karen Mercer, is retiring. We are therefore looking to recruit a new leader for our team.

The Meridian One Community Garden serves as a space where we focus on cultivating fruit, salad, and vegetable produce. We involve the local community by hosting weekly volunteer gardening sessions, welcoming school visits, and organising various community events.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer with expertise in community engagement, event coordination, and managing community facilities. The garden, which was established one year ago, encompasses facilities such as an office, a community meeting/education room, toilets, and a spacious polytunnel.

The Senior Project Officer will oversee a range of tasks including planning and executing community events, maintaining site Health & Safety, leading volunteers in practical projects like building wooden planters, tending to garden plants, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties such as procurement, risk assessments, social media updates, and task reporting. They will also lead activities for the under 5’s Nature Explorers group, school visits, themed evening events, and family weekends. Additionally, they'll organise corporate volunteering sessions and cover holiday shifts for the Green Gym gardening program. Previous events have included 'Pampering and Enrichment,' 'Repurpose, Recycle, Reinvent' workshops, and a Black Women in Conservation and Horticulture photo exhibition, as well as our weekend family events featuring free food, music, and arts and crafts activities.

This role involves being friendly and open to various people who visit, from the toddlers attending the Nature Explorers club, to our volunteer gardeners, to senior staff from the local authority. There are two other people working part-time at the garden, and TCV provides thorough training and support from a helpful local team.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of gardening and/or nature conservation. However, what’s equally important is that the Senior Project Officer has initiative, is welcoming, and comfortable working with a wide range people. We’d therefore welcome applications from candidates who can display those personable qualities, with perhaps experience of working in a community centre setting.

In Spring 2024, TCV will be taking on the management of an additional nearby meanwhile space. The new Senior Project Officer will join us at an exciting time when we begin to turn that space into a new community tree nursery. Working with local people to gather seeds from significant trees in the surrounding area, we aim to grow saplings which will go on to be distributed for planting around London.

Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role the Senior Project Officer will need to work from the garden during these times. Occasionally, to avoid lone working in the absence of another colleague, there will be the opportunity to work from home. Weekend family events take place on Saturdays, four times a year and there are approximately six evening events which take place between April to September. This post holder would be expected to attend those evening and weekend events.

Working across 13 London boroughs, the organisation offers specialist support and services including therapies, advocacy and family and community support. Our service centre is a vibrant community hub offering activities and services that are both innovative and needs-based. Our occupational projects include an art studio, writing projects, music therapy and a professional kitchen where members cook each day for others, volunteers, staff and visitors. In particular, we host Submit to Love; a studio and home to a collective of self-taught artists - all of whom have survived brain injuries. Our studio has developed a set of unique practices and interests, refined over more than a decade. Our specialist neurological therapy service is renowned for its unique interdisciplinary approach.

Our work is guided by the principle of co-production. Projects aim to be co-produced in response to our members’ needs, desires, and ambitions. Through steering groups, catch-up groups and regular opportunities for conversation and feedback, members are actively involved in developing new ideas and helping to make decisions.

By joining Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) as a Community and Events Fundraising Officer you can play a full and active role in securing income to improve the lives of families impacted by Huntington’s disease.

Scottish Huntington’s Association is the only charity in the country exclusively dedicated to providing expert and personalised support for those impacted by Huntington’s disease when they need it, regardless of where they live.

Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships throughout the East Coast of Scotland, to ensure we have the funds needed to deliver our specialist services for every family impacted by this devastating disease. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) account management, marketing, fundraising, event management, or sales, and candidates who are based in any of the following areas: Aberdeenshire, Dundee and Angus, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife or Perthshire. 

From supporter stewardship, event management, delivering inspiring presentations, and managing volunteers, no week will be the same. The Community and Events Fundraising Officer (East Coast of Scotland) will be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with our Senior Community, Event & Individual Giving Fundraising Officer, Community and Events Fundraising Officer (West Coast of Scotland), our SHA Communications team, as well as the wider SHA team.

We are looking for an engaging, passionate and tenacious person who can deliver strong, cost effective and sustainable income growth for the charity, along with good copy writing, admin and organisational skills, experienced at developing relationships, and can manage a busy and varied workload. This is a chance for you to channel your varied skills, qualities, and passion for relationship building to improve the lives of families impacted by Huntington’s disease in Scotland.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer benefits including flexible working practices, and a generous leave allowance totalling 37 days (25 days Annual leave and 12 days public holidays). Upon 5 completed years of service, you will receive an extra day for each completed year up to a maximum of 5 days, and the the opportunity to opt into our competitive pension scheme.
