We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.

The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.

The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.

The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.

They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.

The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.

Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programme Assistant to deliver effective support to the Conservation Capacity & Leadership team. The successful candidate will assist the Director and Conservation Capacity & Leadership team members in delivering the programme’s targets, through administration, basic finance and logistical support, disseminating learning and communications. The role will in particular support Fauna & Flora’s conservation leadership, partner support, and professional development initiatives.

You will have strong relevant experience in an administrative role, with excellent numeracy, organisational and time management skills and a structured and methodical approach to work.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong working relationships with colleagues. You will be a self-motivated team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where the ability to respond swiftly to changing organisational and team needs is paramount. With excellent communication skills, you will have a proven ability to write for a range of audiences. Fluency in English is essential.

This important role will represent FareShare Sussex & Surrey engaging with corporate partners and key stakeholders such as council leaders, politicians and dignitaries across the region. 

Using your experience in engagement and relationship management you will work to consolidate existing partnerships and seek new opportunities across Sussex & Surrey, working to build strong relationships locally and encourage partnership, donations, sponsorships and corporate volunteering. The development team has an ambitious target of £1 million to raise, through various streams including corporate partnerships, individual giving, trust applications and other fundraising activities each year. The role will manage the corporate income stream and requires collaboration with all income generation to ensure effective management and stewardship of all partners.

You will develop an exciting donor journey which engages and encourages support from businesses and key stakeholders. Working with high-value supporters to maintain a good relationship with the organisation and fostering new partnerships. 

You will also work alongside our food Supply Manager to help provide a holistic partnership with our suppliers, encouraging them to support our work across the ESG / CSR spectrum.

Duties and responsibilities  

Business Development and Relationship Management 

• Act as main point of contact for existing corporate partners and stakeholders

• Build strong relationships through a stewardship programme to engage with partners in a variety of ways on a regular basis

• To provide the highest quality supporter care, working in partnership with the business to engage with its staff, maximising fundraising and retain support for the long term

New Business

• Work closely with the Development Team to identify new business opportunities (including charity of the year partnerships) and to develop new relationships with stakeholders across Sussex and Surrey

• To research and approach companies to maximise fundraising opportunities,Develop and promote sponsorship opportunities and corporate partnership offerings

• Create engaging proposition presentations to approach new businesses engaging with them and s other such stakeholders regularly, hosting visits and attending meetings where necessary

Reporting and Monitoring

• Provide regular reporting for trustees and the Development Team

• To monitor and evaluate all aspects of the partnership, reporting on income and engagement.

Role Overview:

The purpose of the Executive Director roles within Depaul is to ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are delivered through a strategic, shared approach by the Trustee Board, Executive Team and wider workforce.

Safe Evolve, Early Intervention service is a new service commissioned by the London Borough of Ealing and represent an exciting partnership with the Anna Freud. The service offers brief evidence-based individual and group interventions to address mild to moderate wellbeing needs largely using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), trauma-informed and mentalization approaches. It consists of two teams: one a specialist schools outreach service and the second a community well-being team for children and families.

Conservation Collective (CC) funds solutions to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change. The CC UK charity incubates, launches, and supports locally focused foundations, which open new funding channels to support the most impactful environmental grassroots projects. Our network comprises 20 members based all over the world and is growing.

We manage and monitor our donor relations, grant giving governance, contacts, and event activities, via a bespoke and customised salesforce system. This was launched in September 2021, and has been developed and configured to meet our growing needs since then. As the demand for our model increases around the world, we need a highly capable systems specialist to support us to ensure our data systems are well managed, users are trained, and we can create accurate reports for our donors and other audiences. The role will report to the Finance Director and will work closely with the rest of the team. This is a critical role that is central to the success of building a robust organisation, and there is opportunity for an ambitious candidate to grow in responsibility with it.

Key Responsibilities:

 Oversee Salesforce System: maintenance, training, development, and reporting

 Maintenance

· Ensure key objects on Salesforce such as accounts, contacts, campaigns and grants are working effectively (ensure process flows work well).

· Maintain reliable records in all objects on Salesforce by eliminating duplicates monthly, processing user deletion requests and updating records for lists with up-to-date information on key stakeholders (e.g. trustees, contractors etc).

· Weekly data back-ups.

· Uploading ad-hoc batch data from Campaigns e.g. Just Giving or historical data into Opportunities.

· Ensure regular data cleaning to enhance the credibility and adoption of the system. Spot trends with issues and feedback into system development or training.

· Oversee data governance log: maintaining log of changes to review with the team, discussing effect on budget and system usage to inform decision making.

 Training and support

· Oversee user set ups, create new user profiles, and share best practices according to GDPR practices.

· Oversee smooth onboarding and training process for new members to ensure effective adoption.

· Keep training materials related to key objects updated, host internal webinars to address new feature introductions or common issues to troubleshoot.

· Promptly troubleshoot any user issues and feeding these into training to prevent it happening again.

· Respond to individual questions from users on Slack and share tips and tricks.

 Automations and Development

· Manage the integration of Form Assembly, ensuring all connectors work well and troubleshoot and update individual forms when needed.

· Support users with the building of individual Form Assembly forms, updating when needed (ad hoc) and embedding them in their websites.

· Perform developments such as creating new fields, updating picklist values, page layouts, forms, automation configuration, formula fields, and other content. Work with core team to assess where a development is foundation specific, and where it should be applied across all users.

· Act as key point of contact with our external Salesforce consultants on any requests of flow maintenance or improvements and monitoring effective use of credits and budgets.

 Reporting

· Build reports and dashboards for each key Object – spot trends and suggest improvements.

o Opportunities - pipeline and income reports for board meetings

o Grants - tracker and applications analysis, extraction of impact data for evaluation purposes

· Provide quarterly diagnoses of user adoption levels across the network.

· Work with exec director to prepare quarterly data for trustee meeting and annual reports.

Manage IT systems with the support of an outsourced consultant

 · Act as a key point of contact with our outsourced IT company, overseeing the creation of new users and managing the leavers’ processes.

• Ensure MS365 systems are working effectively for current users, and troubleshoot issues as a first point of contact before liaising with outsourced providers.

· Maintain an up to date ‘how to guide’ for our intranet, ensuring all users know how to use it and find what they need.

· Recommend Cyber Security improvements.

· Procure IT equipment for team with support of external consultant.

· Maintain an up-to-date list of active users, MS 365 licenses and Antivirus license protection.

· Oversee the IT budget by approving expenses on a regular basis.

· To manage website domains – purchasing new ones on request, performing updates or providing access to web designers.

We are looking for a Chief Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity as well as working with the Trustees to take the organisation forwards.  The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, will have skills in finance, management and IT, and will enjoy working in a busy environment where there are changing demands and priorities throughout the day.

UNISON are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a new Head of Internal Audit to join their team on a permanent basis. UNISON is the UK’s leading public sector trade union, with more than 1.3 million members working in the public services, energy services, private, voluntary and community sectors.

The Head of Internal Audit will report into the Finance Director and will manage a well-established team of six undertaking routine branch audits on a cyclical basis as well as ad hoc special investigations when required including fraud investigations.

The organisation:

UNISON employs around 1,200 staff, approximately 370 at our national centre in Euston, central London and the remainder in our 12 regions across the UK including Northern Ireland. Its main functions include supporting the General Secretariat and the NEC via the Finance and Resource Management Committee. With an annual subscription income of around £170 million, the key objective is the effective management and safeguarding of the union’s finances, ensuring that UNISON considers the financial implications when meeting its objectives and the needs of its members. There are 34 members of staff in the department with responsibilities over financial management and operations, regional and branch financial management, staff pensions and internal audit.

The role:

• Managing, integrating, and coordinating the activities of the Internal Audit Team and overseeing and ensuring the delivery of a planned program of audit visits to branches
• Reviewing, testing, and monitoring of branch activities to ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations and legal requirements.
• Undertaking branch audits and fraud investigations when problems are identified at a branch, regional or national level, to minimise the risk of exposure and safeguard the Union’s assets.
• The post holder will report findings to Senior Management, NEC, and to external parties as and when circumstances dictate.
• Ensuring that the production of reports and similar communications present the financial affairs of UNISON in an appropriate manner to members, committees, Secretariat, Senior Managers, as well as other external agencies.
• Liaising with relevant committees, legal parties (internal and external) and any relevant third-party representatives on legal cases and proceedings.
• Putting forward and following up on recommendations to mitigate risks identified to Senior Management, Regions and Branches and maintaining the audit log, records and working papers to high standards.
• Developing and updating internal audit procedures, relevant policy and process documentation including handbooks, training materials and guidance ensuring they are fit for purpose and communicated effectively.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a recognised CCAB accountancy qualification with proven post-qualification experience in audit and financial accounting
• Be experienced in managing an Internal Audit function in a large and complex organisation.
• Have the ability to lead audits and investigations to conclusions and report to the necessary internal and external bodies.
• Have highly developed interpersonal and communicative skills.
• Hold the ability to advise on financial and operational matters concerning compliance with internal governance and external regulatory and legal requirements to a wide range of audiences.

Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - up to £51,000. London - Hybrid

For an International NGO operating in 40 countries worldwide, we are recruiting a Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - Programme Design and Development. Reporting to the Senior Cost and Pricing Manager, this role will partner with the Programme Design and Development Team to secure new funding via first-class responses to country-level, multi-country, regional and global opportunities for donor funding. This role will support the team in ensuring overall quality of cost proposals and bid submissions while building capability of in-country support teams to create effective cost proposals and program budgets.

Main Duties:

• Develop Cost Proposals: Supporting the proposal development processes and coordinate the Donor cost proposal; reviewing budget templates and cost guidance for country programs, ensuring all Donor cost requirements are met. Travel to country programme to assist in budget building as required
• Manage Relationships: Coordinate with partners for the provision of budget guidelines and time-lines, review partner budget submissions ensuring standards are maintained. Ensure handover from proposal stage to securing a project is managed effectively
• Create and distribute information packs for partners with supporting financial information. Train country Programmes in the use of proposal templates and develop tools and processes for developing proposals and budgets
• Support the Donor Forecast and Pipeline Development Project Manager with reports and analysis
• Ensure there is a good understanding in the organisation of project coding, grant, and contract payment terms
• Work with the SUN systems team to ensure projects are opened and closed effectively
• Statutory and Donor Audits - ensure year end analysis of project budgets, assist partners and in-country staff prepare for donor audits

• Set up new projects in SUN and ensure donor reports are submitted and reconciled to SUN
• Review and provide analysis on the Project Finance Reports (PFRs)

Person Specification:

FP&A Manager | London | Interim | £300 - £350 per day (Umbrella), 4 months +

For a leading UK charity, we're recruiting an Interim FP&A Manager for at least 4 months. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Interim FP&A Manager will support the charity in providing first-class financial planning and analysis support, lead on the reporting of restricted funds, coordinate the production of management accounts, and business partner the Transformation Team and CEO.

What you'll be doing:

• Production of insightful monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting, partnering with, and challenging, budget holders to understand variances whilst producing meaningful MI to enable leadership to make informed decisions
• Forge a strong business partnering service, working closely with the operations team, the Strategy, Digital and Transformation directorate as well as the Finance and Commercial and Chief Executive Office.
• Play a lead role in Transformation projects, partnering the Project teams and Head of Transformation to provide finance support

Upbeat Communities was founded in 2005 to support refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their lives through a whole range of support including training, social activities, befriending and hosting. Upbeat Communities became a registered charity in 2015.

In 2013, Upbeat Communities launched Derby Language School (DLS) which is a social enterprise that provides language courses to individuals and organisations in the East Midlands. Alongside generating considerable income for the charity through its private and corporate classes it also provides quality language training for many refugees through contracts with councils.

In 2021, Upbeat Clean was started in response to significant challenges that refugee women have in finding employment to support their families. Upbeat Clean’s 5-year goal is to be able to offer a Real Living Wage job to every refugee woman who needs one in Derby. Upbeat Clean is fast becoming the most talked about commercial cleaning business in Derby with contracts at key venues like Derby Museums, Getinge, Vaillant, Quad, Deda and large offices across the city.

The two social enterprises (DLS and Upbeat Clean) have grown substantially over the last two years with a combined expected turnover of around £700,000 in 2024/25 and more rapid growth ahead. We have over 30 employed cleaners and 20 freelance teachers and interpreters, with over 40 corporate contracts and 100 private clients.

Main duties and responsibilities

Strategy, Analysis & Development:

 • Continuously focus on balancing fast social enterprises growth while pursuing excellence for our customers.
