Job description

Associate Director of Delivery, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood

About the Royal Foundation

The Royal Foundation mobilises leaders, businesses, and people so that together we can address society’s greatest challenges. Led by The Prince and Princess of Wales, our work is built on world-class research, long-term partnerships, and measurable, scalable impact. We build collaborative initiatives where leaders from all parts of society can come together to identify emerging challenges, agree joint action, and make a real difference on key societal challenges.

The role

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Delivery to join the Centre for Early Childhood. Reporting to the Centre Director and working closely with Royal Foundation and Kensington Palace teams, you will play a key role in designing and implementing strategic plans and programmes to drive change in the early childhood space. This will include delivering existing programmes and supporting the design of new ideas from concept to launch, working with stakeholders from across the early childhood sector and beyond.

The successful candidate will bring cross-sector experience of developing high impact programmes, preferably including communications/public awareness campaigns. The successful candidate will combine passion for our mission with best-in-class programmes and campaigns expertise. Ideally you will bring experience of a range of work – from large-scale programmes, national/international communication campaigns, or collaborative initiatives framed around convening diverse actors around shared goals. You will bring a creative and strategic approach, excellent communications skills as well as a track record of working on complex and multi layered initiatives. You will be a positive, flexible and hands-on team player who is able to design and execute innovative and creative solutions to society’s greatest challenges, maximising the impact The Royal Foundation and the Centre for Early Childhood is able to achieve through its work. This is a unique opportunity which will allow the successful candidate to lead and implement a range of exciting and unique programmes to drive awareness and action on early childhood.

The Centre for Early Childhood, which was launched by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales in June 2021, drives awareness of and action on the extraordinary impact of the early years on our life outcomes – changing what we think and do on early childhood to transform society for generations to come. We focus on developing creative campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness and spark action, driving real, positive change on the early years. Recent examples of the breadth and scale of the work of the Centre include the launch of Shaping Us in January 2023, a major new campaign to increase public understanding about the crucial importance of the first five years of a child’s life. Working with Her Royal Highness, the Centre also launched the Business Taskforce for early childhood in March 2023, which aims to harness the power of the private sector to shift the way employers understand, prioritise, and invest in early childhood – including social and emotional development. The Centre’s 2021 launch also saw the publication of ‘Big Change Starts Small’, a report outlining the case and opportunity as we strengthen early childhood.
