Job description

About the role?

Are you ready to stand alongside women facing multiple disadvantage and play a meaningful role in their journeys? As a Project Worker in our Camden women’s service, you’ll be at the centre of a busy, purposeful environment where every conversation, support session and safety plan matters. Working in trauma-informed, psychologically informed accommodation, you’ll build trusted relationships, carry out thoughtful assessments and co-produce support plans that help women move towards stability, recovery and greater independence.

Day to day, you’ll balance practical action with compassionate challenge – supporting women to manage risk, strengthen their wellbeing, navigate services and develop the skills and confidence to shape their own futures. You’ll deliver structured keywork and group sessions, liaise with partners across mental health, substance use, health and criminal justice services, and play a vital role in creating a safe, consistent and empowering space. Your work will help women rebuild trust, reconnect with their strengths and take meaningful steps forward.

This is more than a job; it’s a chance to grow your career within a service that values reflective practice, collaboration and ambition. You’ll be supported to deepen your expertise in gender-informed and trauma-responsive approaches, learn from experienced colleagues and take ownership of your professional development. If you’re resilient, curious and motivated to create lasting impact, we’d love you to bring your energy and commitment to our Camden team.

Working rota: The post holders will be working two to four 12.5-hour shifts per week over a 5-week rota, which includes 2 out of every 5 weekends.

For roles in our women's services we ask for applications from Women only. For occupational requirement reasons (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1).

About you:

  • You have experience supporting women facing multiple disadvantage, with a clear understanding of VAWG and trauma, and a commitment to safety and empowerment.
  • You build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries, and are confident assessing risk and co-producing strengths-based support plans.
  • You communicate with clarity and respect, working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to secure the right support.
  • You can manage a varied caseload, keep accurate records and respond calmly in a fast-paced service.
  • You’re reflective, resilient and motivated to grow, committed to making a meaningful difference every day.

About us:

We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.

In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.

We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.

Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.

We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.
