Job Title: Forensic Mental Health Recovery Worker 

Location: Lewisham. This service does not have step free access

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis Monday to Sunday working including bank holidays and alternative weekends. Shifts can vary between 08:00 - 16:00 and 13:30 - 21:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service and resident requirements. 

About the Role

We're hiring a Forensic Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team based in Lewisham. New Hope is a 24 hour supported accommodation service for adult males with diagnosis of mental health and convictions. As a Forensic Mental Health Recovery Worker you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. We support our residents in developing coping strategies and building supportive relationships, with a commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and customer service. 

You will support with tenancy matters proactively, providing responsive support and fostering a positive environment where residents feel secure and valued. You will do this through a combination of producing tailored support plans, activities, and partnership working. You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Build and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with residents, offering both practical assistance and emotional support.
• Equip residents with the necessary skills, experiences, networks, and training to help them transition into semi‑independent or independent living.
• Provide support with personal needs as required by residents.
• Take part in, and encourage residents to engage in, the delivery and development of projects, initiatives, training opportunities, and volunteering activities.
• Manage a caseload of residents, contributing to the creation and review of support plans, risk assessments, and progress reviews.
• Identify residents’ interests, needs, and preferred activities through assessments, observations, and conversations.
• Recognise early indicators of declining mental health and implement suitable interventions to prevent crisis situations.
• Promote financial and economic wellbeing while supporting residents in reintegrating into the community.
• Complete safeguarding referrals and other relevant referrals when required.
• Additional duties may include, but are not limited to: keeping environments clean and organised, disposing of waste, reporting maintenance issues, ordering supplies, and undertaking other general tasks as needed.

What are looking for:

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, particularly within mental health
• Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
• Knowledge of license conditions and public protection
• Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others; Proactive in making decisions
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

About the Role

As Senior Trusts Officer, you’ll lead on securing and developing trust and foundation partnership, building a sustainable income stream that fuels Sense’s life-changing work.

You’ll manage your own portfolio of funders, both warm and new, developing strong, long-term relationships and writing compelling, bespoke proposals and reports. Working towards an income target of £250,000 and above, you’ll help shape and deliver our trust fundraising strategy.

This role offers real variety: researching new opportunities, meeting with funders, crafting persuasive cases for support, and collaborating with inspiring colleagues across Sense’s projects and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the Trusts Manager and Head of High Value to develop and implement a strategy and Annual Plans for the Trusts Team to maximise income
• Contribute to the pipeline of Trust funding opportunities through upkeep of and additions to existing systems
• Research, approach and establish relationships with prospective funders with the view of achieving long term relationships
• Establish and develop positive strategic relationships with key people in the funding organisations
• Develop strong and effective relationships with other members of the team and colleagues in Sense operations.

You’ll be someone who combines strategic thinking with creativity and care. With at least two years’ experience in trust and foundation fundraising and a track record of meeting or exceeding income targets, you’ll be confident managing relationships and writing outstanding funding proposals.

About the role

We are looking for a Trusts Manager to join our High Value Relationships team and help secure transformational funding for our work with disabled people with complex needs. This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days in our London office.

Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships and colleagues across Sense, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our high value fundraising strategy. You will manage a varied portfolio of trust and foundation funders, from early-stage research through to proposal submission, stewardship and reporting.

This role is ideal for an experienced trusts fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, writing compelling proposals, and working collaboratively to bring impactful projects to life.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a strong pipeline of trust and foundation prospects to meet income targets.
• Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned to Sense’s priorities and unfunded projects.
• Lead the development and submission of high-quality funding applications, including six-figure-plus proposals.
• Build and maintain relationships with Trustees and key funder contacts.
• Lead or support the management of grants, ensuring compliance, quality assurance and timely reporting.
• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key funders.
• Monitor and report on progress against personal income targets and budgets.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Fundraising, Marketing and operational teams to develop strong funding propositions.

About you

You will bring:

• Proven experience generating income and meeting targets in a high value fundraising role.
• Direct experience of developing and submitting six-figure-plus trust and foundation proposals.
• Experience managing a trusts and foundations pipeline and identifying new funding opportunities.
• Strong relationship-building skills, including engaging senior leaders and supporters.
• Experience creating compelling stewardship plans and managing funder relationships.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write persuasive, impactful proposals and reports.
• Strong numerical skills, including budgeting and financial reporting.

Desirable

• Experience working in disability, health, education or social care charities.
