The RCR, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is leading a national review into cancer multidisciplinary team (MDTs) improvement — a key commitment in the National Cancer Plan. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive this high-profile programme and deliver meaningful change for cancer services.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how cancer teams work across the country and to deliver meaningful improvements for patients, clinicians and the wider cancer workforce.
As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the planning, coordination and delivery of the Cancer MDT Reform Programme. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the health system including NHS England, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Department of Health and Social Care as well as senior Officers at the RCR, including regular reporting to our Vice-President for Clinical Oncology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the full project lifecycle, from developing detailed project plans to managing risks, timelines and reporting.
- Delivering a large two-day national stakeholder event to gather insight and build consensus across the cancer community.
- Drafting high-impact written outputs, including a flagship report outlining recommendations for MDT improvement to be shared with government.
- Collaborating with DHSC and NHSE to support the development of future MDT guidance.
- Building strong, productive relationships with clinicians, NHS partners, national charities, Royal Colleges and internal teams.
- Line managing the Project Administrator and fostering an effective and motivated project team.
What you’ll need:
- Strong project management experience, with a record of delivering complex programmes to time and quality.
- Experience working with senior leaders and managing competing demands effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling, authoritative materials.
- A collaborative, proactive approach, and confidence in working across diverse teams and professions.
- Knowledge or experience of cancer care, clinical services, or wider health policy — highly desirable given the nature of the project.
- Event management experience (desirable).

We want anyone affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use or gambling problem to have the chance to benefit from healthy relationships, be part of a loving and supportive family and enjoy mental and physical wellbeing.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a successful national remote service, offering support via the phone or Zoom to affected adults in the UK. We are looking to recruit experienced Family Support professionals to provide these virtual support sessions to individual family members and sometimes groups. We are offering a number of roles at 15-20 hours per week, across 3-5 days, including Wednesday and at least 2 evenings per week (Mon-Wed).
Experience in supporting family members affected by someone else’s substance use is essential, as is experience with assessing and managing risk. Ideally, you would also have experience of working to support parents with their parenting and / or those experiencing domestic abuse. We offer fixed hours part time contracts within a friendly and supportive team. Whilst based at home and requiring the ability to work autonomously, Adfam prides ourselves on our supportive team ethos and working culture.
- Salary: £30,000 pro rata
- 6.5% contributory pension scheme
- Contract: One year with likely extension

TALK Surrey CIO is a small local charity dedicated to supporting people affected by stroke and aphasia, an acquired language and communication difficulty. People with aphasia can often feel isolated and lose their confidence. We provide group activities, home visits, and community services designed to improve quality of life and foster social connections. Our team of trained volunteers and two existing part-time staff provide an inclusive and supportive group environment for our members to practise their communication skills, share experiences and enjoy each others' company.
We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate Head of Charity to be responsible for leading our organisation, ensuring our services are high-quality, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of our members. You would be responsible for the overall leadership, management and development of TALK, including thinking ahead to expand our range of services. You will ensure the charity is well governed, financially sustainable and delivering high-quality, person-centred services aligned to its mission.
You would work closely with Trustees, staff, volunteers, members and other stakeholders to shape the charity’s future, strengthen partnerships, and ensure effective service delivery.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Experience in managing or leading a small organisation, charity or service.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience developing and improving services based on user need and evidence.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting, supervising or managing staff and/or volunteers.
- High emotional intelligence and commitment to person-centred services.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to TALK groups and meetings.
Experience working in the voluntary or charity sector and an understanding of charity governance, compliance and accountability would be desirable, as would some knowledge of stroke, aphasia or related health and social care services. Other desirable attributes are: Experience of fundraising, grant management or income development and Experience of volunteer management and community engagement.
