We provide homes for people to connect with others and make the necessary changes to move towards independent, healthy living. Our behaviour change services provide a confidential space to share experiences, and offer practical support to those who want to change. The Emerging Futures accredited coach training develops the skills of our volunteers, motivating people to give back and reconnect with their community.
About the role
This is a pivotal leadership role, supporting the Chief Executive and Board with organisational development, risk oversight, and the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred services.
This executive leadership role shapes the strategic direction of Emerging Futures, overseeing HR, Quality, Safeguarding, and Performance functions. It drives organisational strategy across people, culture, innovation, and service delivery, ensuring alignment with the charity’s values and sector trends in substance misuse and homelessness.
Key responsibilities include leading HR strategy—covering recruitment, workforce development, staff wellbeing, inclusion, and compliance—and overseeing quality assurance, clinical governance, and safeguarding to ensure robust risk management and continuous improvement.
The role also leads the development of outcome measurement frameworks, promotes data-driven decision-making, and collaborates with operational leaders to support service innovation and performance. Externally, it represents the organisation in strategic forums and partnerships, while internally fostering integration and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
This role is home based, however as you are leading remote teams across the country, very regular travel to EF sites/offices will be required.
About you
You will have proven senior leadership experience in HR (ideally at Head of HR or Director level) in the voluntary, housing, health, or social care sector. You should also have:
- Level 7 CIPD Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management or equivalent, plus relevant experience
- Strategic understanding of workforce, service delivery, and governance issues in substance use, homelessness, or complex needs sectors
- Demonstrated success in embedding quality and assurance frameworks across complex, dispersed services.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, risk management, and performance improvement frameworks.
- Track record of driving organisational culture change and operational excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, including Board-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and deliver a clear fundraising strategy that diversifies income and builds long-term sustainability.
- Inspire a culture of fundraising across the organisation, empowering staff, volunteers, and trustees to become confident advocates and ambassadors.
- Use the compelling stories of our frontline team and clients to engage, motivate, and retain supporters.
Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Giving
- Lead the development of high-quality, strategic funding applications to trusts, foundations, and corporate partners (typically £20k+).
- Build and manage a sustainable pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely applications and stewardship.
- Line-manage and mentor the newly appointed Trust Fundraiser, supporting their development and success.
Individual Giving and Appeals
- Refresh and strengthen Dementia Concern’s case for support, ensuring a consistent, powerful message across all audiences.
- Design and deliver the charity’s first major appeals — including digital campaigns, local community drives, and postal appeals — to attract and retain individual donors.
- Develop engaging donor journeys and opportunities for people to give regularly, locally, and meaningfully.
Community and Partnership Development
- Reconnect Dementia Concern with its local community through relationship-building, events, and partnerships.
- Represent the charity externally with warmth and confidence, growing our network of local supporters, volunteers, and champions.
- Work closely with the CEO and Trustees to build mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses, groups, and influencers.
- Oversee the charity’s website and digital presence, ensuring our communications are clear, inspiring, and supporter focussed.
- Lead on campaigns and public relations that raise awareness of dementia and the charity’s impact in West London.
About you:
You will have experience in:
- Trust Fundraising and at least one of the following: corporate partnerships, individual giving, or community fundraising.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver successful fundraising strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to craft compelling cases for support and inspire others.
- A collaborative, ‘hands-on’ approach comfortable working in a small, dedicated team.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Passion for dementia care and improving the lives of older people and their carers.
- Experience of working in a local or regional charity setting.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This is a critical operational leadership role that is responsible for the operation of the
organisation’s supported accommodation services.
Providing operational leadership to team managers and ensuring compliance with
organisational, contractual, local authority and legal regulations and the quality of
services is pushed to the highest possible standards; ensuring excellent outcomes for
residents and a positive and high performing working environment for teams.
This role will also be accountable for the development of excellent relationships with
external partners, commissioners, and other key stakeholders for support services in
the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery
• Lead in setting organisational standards and performance targets across the
support and resident services teams that reflect contractual requirements and
organisational standards.
• Actively promote and develop person centred practices based on a trauma
informed approach and psychologically informed environment to working with
residents with high support needs and challenging behaviour.
• Be accountable for the operational performance of the services, allocating
resources strategically to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved
and that action plans are in place where required to improve service
performance.
• Remodelling to promote accountability and co-production approaches with
residents.
• Work with the Head of Building & Facilities to ensure your teams put health &
safety procedures into practice to create a safe environment for our residents
and staff. Contribute, and when required, lead on the formation and review of
policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the Frontline Service’s Management On Call rota, providing
support to frontline services outside of office hours
Stakeholder Management
• Build strong relationships with Commissioners and regulatory bodies to enable
the service to meet contractual and regulatory KPI's and requirements.
• Submit management information on a monthly and quarterly basis and produce
other statistics and data as directed by the Director of Frontline Services.
• Responsible for effective liaison with outside agencies including the police, social
services and other statutory and voluntary agencies and delegating this work
where appropriate.
• Represent the organisation externally at forums, conferences and meetings.
• Contribute to the wider management team in frontline services to ensure good
communication, coordination and consistency of practice, approach and
development across the Directorate.
Business Planning and Project Management
• Drive business planning activities within contracts, ensuring relevant and
challenging objective setting and ongoing performance tracking, developing
turn around action plans as may be necessary
• Where agreed, project manage new services or service developments.
• Working closely with Finance Department to set, manage and monitor allocated
budgets for income and expenditure for support and resident services and to
ensure that teams meet performance targets.
• To ensure that financial procedures are maintained at all times in accordance
with organisational policies and procedures.
Managing and Developing People
• Take a leading role in developing a positive, values-based organisational
culture, in line with the charity's Your Place Way approach
• Developing performance targets and quality control measures for teams, and
monitoring performance to ensure that these are met.
• Supporting managers and teams by setting clear objectives and holding
individual supervisions regularly.
• Ensuring good communication across teams by holding team meetings
regularly, and additional briefings as necessary.
• Inducting new managers and planning the continuous professional development
of existing managers through annual appraisals.
• Managing the workload of teams to ensure that adequate cover is provided at
all times.
Safeguarding
• Act as Safeguarding Lead for the organisation
• To actively promote an open and accountable approach across the
organisation as a whole that ensures the organisation meets our legal duties,
keeps our policies up to date, and puts our residents' best interests at the
forefront.
Intensive Housing Management
• Ensure that our landlord responsibilities are delivered in a person-centred way
and in line with our regulatory and legal responsibilities
• Oversee the creation of a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment across all
our services that is responsive to resident needs.
• Develop standards and practice that provide clear evidence-based reporting to
meet regulatory compliance
General
• To attend meetings internally as and when necessary, for example, Directorate,
Management and planning meetings.
• To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which
may be required from time to time.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
● Management -
○ Partner the Executive Leadership Team to lead on the implementation of Ada’s people management strategy as part of our new organisational strategy.

Plans are to effectively link performance management to reward and recognition.

Key Skills and experience required
- A minimum of 4 years previous People/HR generalist and partnering experience preferably with some experience of working in schools, colleges, universities, training providers or education management organisations.
- Level 7 CIPD qualified, or similar experience is essential Demonstrable experience of improving talent attraction, selection and development

We are recruiting for a Head of Audience Strategy to join on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role working full-time, 35 hours per week, with occasional travel required for team and stakeholder meetings and events.
The last few years have seen unprecedented growth in the public profile of dementia, driven in part by the growing size, impact and ambition of Alzheimer’s Society – the UK’s leading dementia charity. We now need to ensure that everyone who needs dementia support today can access it, while improving our ability to attract, engage and retain the donors, volunteers and campaigners who so generously give money, time and voice to deliver enduring change. Crucial to this is strategic audience development: driving growth by being clearer about who we need to engage, why, and how.
As Head of Audience Strategy, you will develop a comprehensive strategy that delivers a step-change in the maturity and effectiveness of audience insight at Alzheimer’s Society. Built on a range of high-quality insight, data analysis and modelling, the strategy will reflect the evolving relationship to dementia and our Society among the public and other key external stakeholders.
You will work to identify the priority groups we need to engage to drive sustainable growth across all areas of engagement. You and your team will support teams to develop acquisition and engagement strategies which feel truly audience-led, orchestrating warm supporter communications and journeys which ensure we’re growing the right audiences to meet our objectives.
A priority will be ensuring that teams have the right tools to understand, segment and target their priority audiences. You will also be responsible for supporting teams to generate high-quality evaluations of activity in relation to audience goals – using these to capture new insights that improve our overall understanding and demonstrate the value of your team. At all times, you’ll act as an articulate champion of the power of audience strategy. You will lead senior conversations across the Society about what we know and wish to achieve with our audiences and constantly seek opportunities for your team to support others to enhance their impact and deepen their engagement.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have experience in developing and implementing audience or engagement strategies, and extensive experience of diverse qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis. You will also be able to demonstrate proven ability to synthesise these insights and apply them to all levels of the marketing funnel, across cold and warm audiences.
Crucially, you’ll be able to build positive relationships, influence key stakeholders and use your communication and leadership skills to manage and motivate cross-functional teams. You’ll be able to take a holistic view across the areas you manage and use this insight to contribute to organisational strategy through an audience development lens.
You don’t need to have a background in the charity sector, and you may or may not have a connection to dementia, you might be an accomplished Audience Insight professional looking for progression or be an established senior leader in this area already. Core Purpose
As a visionary leader, the Head of Gaming is responsible for shaping and scaling our gaming strategy,
unlocking £1m annual income within 3 years. The role drives innovation forges strategic partnerships and
aligns gaming initiatives and the power of play with Make-A-Wish UK’s mission to deliver life-changing
impact for critically ill children. Working closely with senior leaders, the Head of Gaming champions cross-functional collaboration, embeds data-driven performance and fosters a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities for the role are:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for gaming aligned with the overarching Make-A-Wish UK organisational goals and market trends.
- Monitor and identify growth opportunities within the gaming sector that are unique to Make-A-Wish UK, including (but not limited to) development of strategic partnerships, product diversification to drive sustainable income growth, and market expansion to position Make-A-Wish as the go-to charity for the gaming sector.
- Collaborate with the extended leadership team to execute the gaming strategy and ensuring the journey and development priorities align with our overall Income & Engagement goals and growth targets.
- Establish Objectives, shared KPIs and other performance metrics that drive alignment with common priorities and focus across teams to deliver on growth targets.
- Attend appropriate industry events and conferences to cement Make-A-Wish UK as contender within the UK videogame sector.
- Lead stakeholder management of high-value and high-profile gaming contacts, including senior Make-A-Wish advisors within the gaming industry
Team Management:
- Lead and motivate the Gaming and Influencer Officer by providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
- Promote a creative and collaborative work environment to drive innovative partnerships, creativity and innovation.
Gaming Group Wish
- Oversee the entire gaming group wish development lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
- Scale the group wish within the sector and develop commercial opportunities that resonates with the gaming audience.
- Leverage storytelling to engage with gaming influencers within the gaming community
Partnership Development:
- Establish and nurture relationships with external partners, including publishers, hardware manufacturers, distributors, and platform holders.
- Identify, negotiate, and maintain relationships with gaming influencers and content creators.
- Collaborate with Brand and Corporate Partnerships to ensure the content and pitch is engaging for partnerships, campaigns and promotions.
Campaign Execution:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of gaming-related marketing campaigns.
- Ensure that campaigns align with the company's objectives and target audience.
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide insightful reports to stakeholders.
- Adjust strategies based on performance data to improve engagement and ROI.
- Continuously analyse, refine, and optimise workflows, tools, and processes across gaming to increase lead time to value, reduce blocks, improve resource allocation and enhance productivity.
- Proactively identify and monitor risks that could impact product development timelines, from technical challenges to resource gaps, and proactively develop mitigation strategies
Income generation:
- Identify and prioritise opportunities for the growth of income, gift in kind and networks in areas of Gaming for Make-A-Wish. This includes collaborating with the corporate partnerships team and relevant internal teams for new Gaming partners and sponsors for MAW.
Budget Management:
- Manage the budget for gaming and influencer marketing initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources in line with operational needs.
- Ensure cost-efficiency and return on investment for game projects.
Wishgranting:
- Support connections to help grant wishes for children with gaming-related wishes by establishing relationships with industry partners, networks and individuals who can help.
