The Trust is recruiting a creative and committed Research and Policy Officer to join our team. Reporting to one of the team’s Research and Policy Managers, the successful candidate will play a significant role in developing and preparing the Trust’s research and policy outputs, working across the core areas of the Sutton Trust’s work (early years, schools, apprenticeships, higher education and access to the workplace). This will include helping to produce original, data rich and policy relevant research reports, along with contributing to other Trust research projects. They will also support the policy and advocacy work of the Trust, including performing background research on topics relevant to educational inequality and social mobility as required.
Main duties
To contribute, with colleagues, to several data-rich research reports accessible to practitioners and policy makers, over the course of the year, as agreed with the Research, Communications and Policy leadership team
To support the Sutton Trust's programme of research and policy work, including:
Providing staff with background research, analysis and data on relevant topics
Producing literature reviews
Supporting research funding bids
Providing administrative support
Working with Communications colleagues to develop messaging and content for disseminating and publicising reports
Supporting advocacy work, as required, with MPs' staff, civil servants, special advisers and other policy makers
Other duties as necessary from time to time
Person Specification
Essential
Excellent analytical skills and understanding of research methods, primarily quantitative research, as well as literature/evidence reviews. This should include significant experience of using data analysis software such as SPSS/Stata/R/Python or equivalent
A qualification in a social science or other numerate discipline, including statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, data science or similar discipline in the social or natural sciences at undergraduate level, or comparable experience
Two years' experience working in research in a professional or academic environment (e.g., PhD, post-doc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of initiative and the ability to take responsibility for projects
Personable, flexible and discreet; able to fit into a busy, small team in a fast-paced policy environment
Sympathetic to the aims of the Trust and its mission to address educational disadvantage
Eligible to work in the UK (see here for information about right to work)
Desirable
Experience of conducting research using administrative datasets (e.g., National Pupil Database) or longitudinal datasets (e.g., Longitudinal Education Outcomes dataset, Understanding Society, Next Steps)

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum
Working location: Minimum of 2 office days per week
Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and may also be required to attend events/meetings outside of their normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends

A Support Worker will help to enable vulnerable people with complex support needs to manage their licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

The Head of Public Fundraising is a new role at Coeliac UK leading the charity’s public fundraising function. The role focusses on driving sustainable growth across individual giving, community fundraising, events, lottery, raffle, digital fundraising and merchandise. This role is responsible for delivering Coeliac UK’s 5-year fundraising strategy to maximise return-on-investment, grow long term supporter value, and contribute to the charity’s mission.
The Head of Public Fundraising will embed and deliver comprehensive fundraising strategies, growing Coeliac UK’s supporter base and income, building up new and under-developed income streams and communicating effectively with their audiences to expand their reach, and encourage financial and non-financial support to deliver the organisations mission.
Who are we looking for?
Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of role across multiple income streams, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser. Experience across other income streams and areas of fundraising delivery would be a huge benefit as the role leads community fundraising and events, will take on digital fundraising - currently led by the Chief Engagement Officer, as well as manage the data and supporter care functions, but experience in individual giving is essential as Coeliac UK has defined that as an area of priority income.
The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has already operated at a senior level within a charity such as at Senior Manager level, or Head of in a specific income stream.
Hybrid working
The role has a hybrid expectation of a minimum of a day a week in the High Wycombe office (HP11 2QW) to build relationships and provide support to the fundraising team, and there will be flexibility required for other in person meetings and events. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team based in Catford. Penrose Jigsaw Service is a forensic mental health service and work in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM). You will empower and motivate both our male and female residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, supporting their reintegration into the community. You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.
Your focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches. We provide supported accommodation within a forensic step-down service, delivering residential and community-based support. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants. Support includes medication support, supervision, and regular health and safety checks, tailored to meet the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants.

We are recruiting one full time permanent Funding Officer in Yorkshire and the Humber. Funding Officers in these roles will primarily be part of a Yorkshire and the Humber regional team delivering our Reaching Communities programme, with opportunities to be involved with other programmes and aspects of the Fund’s wider operations as they arise. As a Funding Officer for the National Lottery Community Fund you will be integral to supporting the organisation to deliver our strategy It Starts With Community.
These roles will contribute to ensuring that vital funding reaches communities and projects who need it most in our region. As a Funding Officer you will work as part of our Yorkshire and the Humber regional team, working day-to-day alongside fellow Funding Officers, supported by a Funding Manager.
We are looking for people who will work across the region, with a focus on developing relationships and being a key point of contact for West Yorkshire
Ideally (but not essentially) you will live in West Yorkshire and have good knowledge of the local area.
The Funding Officer role is classed as mobile working which means you will be expected to work from Fund offices, from home as well as conduct visits across the region. The Yorkshire & Humber regional office is in Leeds.
