Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a commitment to animal welfare to join our team as Animal Centre Manager at our Animal Centre in Halifax.

The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch is an independent branch of the RSPCA. Our Animal Centre cares for, rehabilitates and rehomes hundreds of cats, dogs and small animals each year. We pride ourselves on our employees providing the very best in animal welfare and customer service. The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District never put a healthy animal to sleep.

We are looking for an individual who can lead our animal centre, sharing our values of placing animal welfare first, valuing and respecting our volunteers, supporters and staff, providing the highest quality of service and being open and honest. As Animal Centre Manager you will be tasked with managing our centre in line with the charity’s objectives and strategy. You will ensure the welfare of all the animals in our care and make sure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be a team leader or someone with previous management experience ideally within an animal welfare environment. You will have knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats, dogs and small animals; be driven, positive and enthusiastic, have plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure. Great communication, organisation and interpersonal skills will be key. A flexible approach to working hours, including the ability to work weekends will be required.
