The Research and Impact Lead role brings scope for dynamic collaboration across the organization, and creativity in applying research and evaluation expertise to a range of opportunities. The Research and Impact Lead will shape, drive and deliver a range of learning activities. They will be a voice for evidence-based decision making within BookTrust, ensuring that we put the needs of children, families, and our delivery partners at the heart of our work.

In this role we are looking for an experienced mixed methods researcher to oversee our MEL approach, develop and deliver new learning and funding partnerships and contribute to our portfolio of cross departmental learning activities – working to deliver research activities or supporting our team of in-house researchers through providing steer and quality assurance.

The role

As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights. 

In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage the administration side of our partnerships, from initial contact and briefing, through proposal management, all the way to issuing contracts and drafting scopes. You’ll work across multiple projects and deadlines, managing processes, organising meetings, following up action points, and keeping accurate partnership records. 

You’ll champion the partner experience and ensure we always deliver value. This includes meeting with organisations to explore their goals, and briefing colleagues on new partners’ needs. You’ll also lead on our marketing and webinar programme, coordinating plans and working with colleagues and freelancers to deliver outstanding content.

• Work collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer, HWR Board, Staff and Volunteers to develop print and digital communications and printed materials to support the work of Healthwatch and its outreach and engagement activities.

• Develop relationships with sector, national and local media

• Ensure a consistent brand and identity is maintained and support colleagues to ensure quality communications across all products and initiatives.

• Manage the HWR digital and print communications channels, such as enewsletters, social media and print newsletters. • Ensure and maintain the online/ Web presence of Healthwatch including Twitter and LinkedIn

• Secure local, regional and national press coverage of HWR work in a variety of publications.

• Support and sustain information, advice, and signposting services to ensure individuals are directed to appropriate health and social care services.

• Collate, develop, and manage content for the HWR website and ensure the website is kept up to date.

• Manage the HWR social media presence with engaging content.

It’s an exciting time to join War Child as they have just launched their new Alliance initiative. The War Child Alliance brings together the five War Child fundraising members (in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden, plus Children in Conflict in the US), with 14 programme members, based in and around conflict-affected areas across the world and coordinated by a new international body: the War Child Alliance Foundation. Through the Alliance they are integrating programme activities under one umbrella – allowing War Child to combine strengths and pool resources – all with the aim to multiply impact for conflict-affected children.

As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager, Trusts Executive and the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive. The main task of the Institutional Funding Lead is to secure funding from UK-based institutional donors, with a primary focus on the FCDO.

You will drive forward dynamic and proactive engagement strategies directly with UK-based institutional donors and indirectly through consortia, as well as developing and supporting organisational positioning for contracts and grants.

This role will introduce innovative and agile funding approaches and models to enhance War Child UK’s competitiveness in a complex donor environment. You’ll achieve this by working closely with the War Child Alliance Foundation to research and analyse opportunities, enhance and support donor engagement plans, and drive forward engagement opportunities to maximise and secure funding.

About the role

• Develop and strengthen a network of contacts with relevant representatives from UK institutional donors and partners, primarily FCDO, institutional foundations and INGOs, to enable consortia to develop and grow.
• Identify funding needs within War Child and match them with institutional funding opportunities by engaging with country teams, the regional teams and the Alliance institutional funding coordination.
• Lead the co-creation, coordination, and design of complex and challenging proposals for institutional funding opportunities, including multi-country opportunities or large-scale consortium bids.
• Line manage the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive providing professional development and support.

About you

• Experience of co-creating, leading, and coordinating complex proposal development processes, ideally for relevant donors including FCDO and humanitarian pooled funds.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, with an up-to-date knowledge of relevant donors including FCDO, and humanitarian pooled funds.
• Experience in building networks, partnerships, and consortia to maximise programme impact and funding opportunities.
• Line management or leadership experience.

About the Team:
The Climate and Environment Lead is based in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team of the Programme Support & Knowledge team (PSK), a key unit of the WaterAid UK International Programmes Department (IPD) operating in 17 African and Asian countries. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world's poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange.

The team provides technical advisory expertise and fosters and supports internal and external programme and technical partnerships and networks. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards and advise and support the delivery of a programme capacity enhancement strategy. PSK collaborates with many functions across the organisation including policy, advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, communications, as well as with WaterAid partners and collaborators.

About the Role:
The Climate and Environment Lead is a leadership position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team. The Climate and Environment Lead is accountable for the strategic development and effective delivery of the core team responsibilities on climate resilience and environmental sustainability for high quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, incorporating WaterAid's and the sector's leading practices, innovations and methods.

Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he leads the provision of high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, she/he leads the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and leads the development of relevant standards and guidance. She/he also provides high quality strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.

The Climate and Environment Lead has substantial autonomy in determining what the technical objectives are and how they are delivered and achieved. She/he is held account for the integrity and effective delivery of the technical advice and services. She/he is seen as a thematic authority and is expected to effectively handle the most challenging technical assignments. With a strong understanding of organisational dynamics and ways of working, the Lead advisor is expected to bridge gaps and siloes, proactively establishing and maintaining relationships with colleagues across WaterAid and beyond, and facilitating joined-up and comprehensive efforts to advance WaterAid's programming globally.

About You:

• Substantial technical experience in climate science, climate adaptation, resilience, environmental sustainability, environmental impact assessment and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• Strong technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, water, sanitation, health, hygiene, behaviour change, gender, inclusion, and/or other WASH-related topics.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proven ability in leadership and strategic thinking.
• Substantial experience and success in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Strong ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting needs of diverse audiences.
• Organised and efficient. Demonstrated ability to drive tasks forward to completion in a timely manner while maintaining high quality.

Inter Mediate is one of the world’s leading independent conflict resolution organisations. Operating out of London, it works in conflict zones around the world to support peace negotiations and advise on strategies to stop and prevent wars. This is an exciting opportunity to join its small, expert projects team as a Project Development Officer, supporting Inter Mediate’s Project Directors to advance peace negotiations with a special focus on conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.  

 Role summary

The Project Development Officer (PDO) will work within the Inter Mediate Projects Team under the guidance of the Projects Directors and coordination with the Deputy CEO, Operations Team and CEO, to:

• Support and implement Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio supporting peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives.
• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in Africa and the Middle East
• Identify and develop entry points for new projects.
• Monitor and analyse political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work.
• Research lessons from past peace efforts relevant to Inter Mediate’s current work.
• Support the Operations Team and Project Directors to prepare project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collect evidence of project impact.

Specific responsibilities:

•  Contribute to strategies to deliver Inter Mediate projects and institutional priorities.
• Support the Project Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with key interlocutors and relevant experts in the field.
• Undertake travel, including to conflict settings.
• Draft high quality policy memos, speeches and concept notes for senior audiences.
• Provide logistical support for project delivery, including managing travel of project teams, interlocutors and consultants.
• Monitor media, think tanks and other analysis centres on conflict dynamics, and produce briefings and analytic papers for the CEO ahead of travel or engagement with key interlocutors.
• Oversee production of research papers on peacemaking lessons, based on demand from interlocutors.
• Scope for potential new projects and develop new project feasibility studies.
• Support the Project Directors and Operations Team in donor management and project accountability, including contributing to preparation of project proposals and budgets, and reporting in line with donor requirements.
• Compile project progress reports for senior management/trustees’ meetings.
• Represent IM in external contexts where necessary.
• Undertake other tasks in support of IM’s work overall as required.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

 Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:

• A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.
• Three years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, political risk advisory services, conflict journalism or conflict analysis. Experience relevant to West Africa and Middle East preferred.
• Excellent written English, and evidence of ability to produce high-quality written work to deadline.
• A strong understanding of political and conflict dynamics – particularly Africa and the Middle East - and the ability to produce well-structured and concise analysis
• Ability to operate successfully in high pressure, sensitive political environments and support high-level individuals
• Experience of work and travel in conflict-affected areas, and willingness to travel independently, with support from the Project Directors.
• Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to support the smooth running of a small team, and willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach when required.
• Fluency in French and/or Arabic or other languages (desirable)

It’s life changing and challenging raising children who’ve been hurt or neglected, but kinship carers do it anyway because they put the children first. 

Kinship have been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver the first ever national training programme to support kinship carers in their caring role. We are at the start of that journey.

About the role:

Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role. 

As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. You’ll bring significant working experience of using Microsoft tools, and other platforms and technology including Zoom. You’ll have a positive, can-do approach and the ability to work with initiative, being curious and always thinking ahead to anticipate need and deal with issues.

Collaboration will be key to your approach, and you’ll be detail orientated and be great at managing your time and priorities, and working to consistently high standards. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of all our online and in-person events, including being available and involved as needed on site. 

In this role, you’ll travel across England and may have overnight stays from time to time. We offer training and support to enable you to be successful in your role and we’re happy to discuss requirements if you have kinship caring responsibilities.

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

Purpose of Job

The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:

• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors

Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and that has no cure. It costs the UK economy around £8.2 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Policy and Public Affairs team, during an election year, delivering a number of vital pieces of research designed to improve walking, wheeling and cycling and transport more broadly.  

As the Policy Officer, you will lead on delivering two key policy projects for Sustrans with support from our Head of Policy and Senior Policy Officer. You will help develop evidence, policy and practice working closely with colleagues to maximise long-term opportunities to help increase transport choice for people. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub with an expectation of a monthly team meeting in Bristol and occasional travel for project related activity. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. • Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.
