The Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced support worker to join our Young People Support Team based in Hackney. You will provide client directed, person centred support to help young people achieve personal goals and aspirations for independent living, training, employment, and education. You will assist and collaborate with young people to create and carry out a support plan designed around their needs and aspirations, providing information and inspiration, practical support, innovation, and encouragement. You will have an individual caseload but will work alongside a team of Support Workers, with similar client groups, working to the same principles and goals.

Peer Mentor Facilitator (Mental Health)

We are searching for a Peer Mentor Facilitator to join our mental health services. The role of the peer mentor facilitator will be to help with the smooth running of the Mind BLMK mentoring service and act as a mentor to service users. The ideal candidate will understand the recovery journey through a goal setting approach to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Our peer support services are a key element of our provisions, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the use of volunteer peer mentors across Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s peer support model, operational policies and procedures (assessments, Mentor/Mentee introductions, goal setting, reviews).
• Facilitate initial Mentor / Mentee introductions, identify set goals for the relationship and ensure regular reviews are held.
• Work closely with the Peer Support Services Manager to recruit volunteer peer mentors to meet contract requirements and provide the infrastructure they need to deliver this support safely and confidently.
• Maintain an effective volunteer peer mentor workforce assisted by the Peer Support Services Manager for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, workload coordination, support, training and development of volunteers).
• Ensure that support is given to peer mentors through regular peer group support meetings and one-to-one meetings as appropriate.
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

About the Project

Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) has been awarded Hertfordshire’s CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service (WithYOUth).

The WithYOUth Service is an innovative partnership between BfB Labs and Hertfordshire Mind Network to provide a countywide digital service that is accessible to children and young people aged 5 – 18, at the earliest point of an emerging emotional wellbeing and/ or mental health need. The service will operate between 14:00 – 22:00 seven days a week.

Purpose of Post

As a CYP Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering this exciting service as part of a wider team, and whilst experience is advantageous, the most important thing to us and the children and young people we support is having the right values, skills and commitment to being part of this dynamic, new provision.

Our trauma-informed model offers a range of support options for CYP, based around digital interventions and supported by one-to-one and group sessions, so children and young people can engage in the way that works best for them. The service will build resilience in CYP by working with them to develop coping strategies and solutions that will enable them to improve their own health and wellbeing. We will also provide advice and guidance to parents/families/carers and professionals to provide a holistic response to supporting CYP and creating a network around them to empower and enable positive change.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must deeply understand how to reduce the violence that affects young people. We then have to make this information highly relevant and accessible to the people making decisions for vulnerable young people. In practice, this means we need to find out what works and what doesn’t through high quality qualitative and quantitative research into children’s lives. We then must convert this into really accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations (like schools, councils, police forces and more) can change what they do, how the systems have to change. We then need to work with and inspire those making decisions. Together, we believe we can change things permanently for children.

At the heart of this work is our new Area Leaders Programme. It provides support to local councils on what they can do in their towns and cities to change things. To work, the sessions need to be brilliantly designed with great materials and really well delivered. This is where you come in.

About the Area Leaders Programme

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) brings together local partnerships in a town or a city to better protect children from being drawn into violence. These partnerships often include the police, youth justice services, children’s services, health, education, youth and community organisations.

We aim to do this by supporting areas to develop the five Ps of violence prevention:

• Partnerships: Build strong, accountable partnerships with clear roles, governance, and measurable goals.
• Profile: Understand the local drivers, context, and patterns of serious violence.

About the role

As Senior Designer and Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how ALP supports local partnerships. You’ll help turn evidence into practical action by designing engaging workshops, tools and resources that help professionals plan and work together more effectively. You will also take a leading role in facilitating active and inspiring workshops.

You must have significant experience in:

• A relevant design discipline, this could be service design, systems design, speculative design, policy design or a similar field.
• Applying design skills to address social purpose and/or inequalities.
• Workshop facilitation with participants from diverse professional backgrounds.

Ideally you will also have this sort of experience (but it’s not necessary to apply):

• A formal qualification in a relevant area of design, or applying design for social purpose, or relevant experience.
• First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

What’s the job?

In this exciting and varied role, you will take the lead in delivering commercial marketing initiatives that add real value to both students’ unions and our supplier partners. Working within the Commercial Development team, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing the activity against brand development programmes across key sectors including retail, catering, and licensed trade. You should be confident in negotiating and managing budgets, using data and insight to inform decisions, and pitching marketing ideas to external stakeholders.

At Ambitious about Autism, we stand with autistic children and young people. Our Time for Ambition strategy envisions a world where every autistic young person can be themselves and realise their goals. Yet too often, they face misunderstanding, isolation, and poor mental health at school — with exclusions for autistic children tripling in the past decade.

In 2022, with support from Zurich UK and the Zurich Foundation, we launched Autistic and OK – a pioneering programme empowering autistic pupils to understand themselves, take control of their wellbeing, and feel supported in education. We're now entering Phase 2, expanding the programme to more schools, colleges, and communities across the UK.

We're seeking a Schools Engagement Officer to play a vital role in making this next chapter a success. As a delivery focused role, you will provide hands-on support to schools implementing the Autistic and OK Schools Toolkit.  You will coordinate activities for the piloting of our new Whole School Approach and ensure feedback from schools is captured and shared with the wider team. You will also contribute to dissemination activities, helping to raise awareness of the programme and demonstrate its impact.

About the Role:
As part of the delivery team, you'll:

• Support schools to implement our Autistic and OK Toolkit.
• Coordinate pilot activities for our new Whole School Approach.
• Act as the first point of contact for schools, offering practical advice and support.
• Gather feedback and stories from schools to showcase the programme's impact.
