Surgery and anaesthesia have a fundamental and growing impact on global health outcomes. Surgical intervention could address over 30% of the global burden of disease, and yet the poorest 33% of people receive just 3.5% of all surgery. Post-operative mortality rates 1,000 times higher than in some high-income countries can be found in parts of the world where surgery and anaesthesia have been neglected, and in some countries as many as 90% of anaesthetic departments do not have the equipment to provide a safe anaesthetic for a child.
With 146 member societies made up of anaesthesiologists in over 150 countries, WFSA is uniquely placed to influence these inequalities and to help ensure universal access to safe surgery and safe anaesthesia.
The role
This sits within the Communications, Advocacy and Digital Learning Team and reports to the Digital Learning Manager. You will work closely with all members of our staff team (the Secretariat), as well as many of our committees and key stakeholders. Relationships with member societies and our WFSA Board and Council will also be important; an ability to interact across a range of stakeholders is essential. This is an entry level role which offers huge scope for development and learning across a broad remit.
The role is offered either on a hybrid working basis with access to WFSA’s central London office or fully remote. Note, the majority of working hours would need to overlap with those of the United Kingdom.

Purpose of role
To provide administrative, operational and technical support across WFSA’s digital learning portfolio. Particular focus is given to online publications and the Anaesthesia Online Learning Community (AOLC), which encompasses our webinars, online courses and other educational resources.
You will handle day-to-day admin, user support, reporting and content updates, ensuring smooth delivery of our educational activities and freeing capacity for senior staff to lead strategic development.
You will be part of a small, supportive team working with global volunteers, committees and partner organisations, helping us deliver high-quality, accessible online learning at scale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in global health to develop skills in online education, digital content management, webinar operations and LMS administration.
Key tasks and responsibilities

Support the Digital Learning Manager in delivering the Anaesthesia Online Learning Community (AOLC) project action plan and coordinating with volunteer faculty when needed.

Provide administrative support for the e-learning platform, including uploading content, enrolling users, checking enrolment reports, and routine maintenance tasks.

Respond to routine user queries (e.g., certificates, access to recordings, account/password issues).

Upload new educational resources to the Virtual Library (WordPress).
2. Webinar administration & delivery

Manage speaker admin: collecting bios and photos, sending consent forms and reminders, requesting Power Point slides, and gathering essential details.

Prepare webinar materials such as introduction slides, panelist briefing documents, and certificates.

Provide support for running webinars (e.g., managing waiting rooms, chat/Q&A, recordings), compile webinar analytics, and produce standardised reports.

Update the webinar calendar and the webinar section of the WFSA website (WordPress).
3. Publications support (ATOTW & UIA)

Assist the Managing Editor with administrative tasks for Anaesthesia Tutorial Of The Week (ATOTW) and Update in Anaesthesia (UIA).

Liaise with partner organisations and volunteer translators, track translation progress and upload translated content to WordPress.
4. Other duties

Provide updates for donor reports and project summaries as requested.

Role Requirements
- Maintain efficient administration systems that facilitate the smooth operation of the training function with the wider Organisational Development Team.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all enquiries directed to the Learning & Development Team, providing information and assistance as needed
- Oversee the management of the team inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to enquiries while taking ownership of all queries
- Process and oversee internal training bookings using Select HR (our HR System)
- Handle applications for external training, including organising payment and liaising with external trainers as necessary
- Manage all administrative tasks related to in-house training sessions, including generating delegate lists, preparing materials for trainers, and booking rooms, equipment, and catering as required
- Produce and distribute certificates for programme participants upon completion.
- Process invoices from external facilitators, including managing costings for other departments
- Organise & coordinate the training calendar for the following year by liaising with facilitators and colleagues and working with CET and Therapy teams
- Update schedules with changes/additions as they arise and inform training representatives and departments
- Planning and organising ‘ad hoc’ training sessions as and when required
- Prepare monthly induction programme including training memos, induction folders, session materials, catering requests & induction evaluations.
- Deliver brief Training session to new starters and help with tours where necessary
- Deliver appraisee training via teams
- Prepare for training sessions, including sending reminders, organising session materials, catering, room and equipment set up
- Create monthly training and PDR reports and chasing compliance where necessary working with line managers.

Summary
The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.
The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.
The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.
The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).
The NST are developing high quality, robust safeguarding learning and development pathways, based on legislative requirements and evidence of good practice. This role will be pivotal to delivering this.
This post will have responsibility for the creation and revision of national safeguarding learning, for planning its implementation and for leading work for the NST on evaluating the effectiveness of the learning pathways offered. Working alongside the Safeguarding Learning and Development Manager (Development Lead) the postholder is responsible for ensuring that the learning pathways are based on best safeguarding practice, adult learning best practice, latest relevant academic research, national legislation and safeguarding policies and guidance.
- This is a 12 month Fixed-term contract
- Hybrid role frequency in the London office (Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ) to be agreed with Line Manager
- A salary of £48,557 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

About the Role
This is a unique role that connects Learning and Development (L&D) with Recruitment to ensure the College attracts, recruits and develops the right talent while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
As a key member of the People and Culture Team, you will lead on shaping and delivering the College’s L&D framework and initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning, promoting inclusivity in recruitment and ensuring talent is identified, supported, and nurtured.
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process and designing, developing, and delivering learning interventions that build organisational capability and resilience. About You
You are a dynamic and versatile L&D professional, who is passionate about people development and recruitment. You will bring a blend of L&D expertise and recruitment experience, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
You will have proven experience in designing and delivering innovative training programmes, including leadership and management development, and be confident in using digital learning tools and eLearning platforms. Alongside this, you will have managed end-to-end recruitment processes and understand how to embed inclusive and equitable practices throughout.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will work closely with managers and stakeholders across the College. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and bring a creative, solutions-focused approach to everything you do.

CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:
At Purposeful, learning is a political responsibility. We are reclaiming and organising our many ways of knowing, meeting stories with data, and building a robust case for this work. We are bridging traditional logical frameworks with feminist learning principles and creating space for their co-existence.
The Senior Learning and Insights Manager will play a critical role-- contributing to a bold learning and insights strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth, leading the design of data collection systems, contributing to data collection efforts, from surveys to storytelling, closing feedback loops and crafting knowledge products, intended to inform, influence and amplify.
They will bring technical expertise across a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, they will come with curiosity and a willingness to share. The Learning and Insights Manager will work closely with the Learning and Insights Lead and across all Purposeful teams, particularly Grant-making, Communications and Resource Mobilisation.

SCOPE OF WORK
1. Learning and Insights Strategy and Systems

Contribute to the delivery and implementation of a new Learning and Insights strategy and results framework, building on our Learning Agenda.

Lead the design and embedding of data collection tools and systems across Purposeful teams, in particular our global grantmaking and advocacy teams.

Work closely with the Learning and Insights team to champion a culture of learning within Purposeful and with grantee partners.
2. Technical Support

Lead cycles of data collection across our global grantmaking work - supporting regional teams with technical expertise, as and when needed.

Periodically join learning calls, spaces and convenings with our grantee partners - embedding and supporting documentation.

Lead regular cross team learning and insights meetings and drive follow up actions.

Conduct periodic analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and produce synthesis that informs strategic choices across thematic and regional work.

Facilitate sense-making and feedback loops with the Purposeful team, girls, young feminists, and grantee partners.

Manage timelines and workplans to feed into key learning and reporting moments.
3. Research

Move learning grants to grantees (approximately five to ten grants annually) to enable them to document their work and/or conduct research which they have identified as a priority - this includes an application process, accompaniment plan and check-ins.

Contribute to the delivery of research led or commissioned by Purposeful, this may include the reviewing TORS and methodologies, check ins with consultants, and reviewing deliverables.
4. Knowledge Production and Dissemination

Conceptualize and produce case studies, briefs or other knowledge products underpinned by quantitative and qualitative data, to assist with case building.

Contribute to the development of other external knowledge products as required, such as slidedecks, thematic briefs, regional briefs, blogs, op-eds, and research reports.

Work across teams to identify opportunities to disseminate and amplify knowledge products, including conference spaces, social media campaigns, webinars, instagram lives and academic publications.

Lead and/or contribute to the drafting of conference and journal abstracts.

Represents Purposeful in high level external spaces, including conferences, funder collaborations and research partnerships.
5. Other

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience & Skills

At least five to seven years of experience in MEL or research, including experience working with philanthropic funds, feminist organisations or social justice movements.

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing learning frameworks and systems across multiple projects or funds.

About the Role
This is an exciting role that requires a mixture of skills in relation to learning and development. The role is varied and will involve delivery, design and management of learning to support staff and volunteers within the Witness Service delivered by the charity. The Institute of Imagination (iOi) is seeking a Creative Production Coordinator to support the planning, design and delivery of hands-on creative learning programmes with children, families and communities across London.
This is a varied, practical role combining programme coordination, workshop and event delivery support, co-design, and hands-on organisation of materials and equipment.
About the Role
The Creative Production Coordinator plays a key role within the Experience and Learning team, supporting the smooth delivery of creative programmes and events. The role is highly hands-on and collaborative, working closely with colleagues, facilitators, children and families to create inclusive, playful and high-quality learning experiences. The work is varied and dynamic — from organising the creative studio and preparing materials, to supporting workshops, co-design sessions and community events across London.

Key Responsibilities
Programme Production & Delivery (70% Focus)
- Logistics Management: Provide end-to-end logistical and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of workshops, events, and community programmes, particularly those engaging diverse audiences.
- Hands-on Coordination: Manage practical delivery needs, including set-up, pack-down, and the organisation of equipment and materials across multiple community settings.
- Operational Support: Offer day-to-day operational support, proactively troubleshooting issues to maintain high standards of delivery.
Programme Design & Engagement (30% Focus)
- Co-Design Support: Support the co-design, testing, and refinement of new workshops and activities, working collaboratively with children, caregivers and educators.
- Facilitation Support: Assist facilitators during sessions and engage directly with families to help create an inclusive, welcoming, and positive learning environment.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven Experience: Experience coordinating programmes or events, ideally within the education, creative learning, or charity sector.
- Inclusive Facilitation: Experience delivering or supporting creative, educational, or community workshops for diverse audiences, including children, parents, and educators.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and positively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Organisational Strength: Strong organisational, time management, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Mindset: Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and aligned with the iOi’s values, with a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Availability: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programme delivery.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with co-design or participatory design methodologies in community settings.
- Knowledge of, or lived experience in, our focus boroughs (e.g., Tower Hamlets, Newham).
- Experience in the creative industries or arts education.
