About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Policy Fellow in Primary and Community Care to join our dynamic Policy Team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact work focused on NHS policy and broader health system change in England

As a core member of the team, you will lead and support a range of policy projects - both short-term reactive work and longer-term strategic initiatives. Your primary focus will be on primary and community care policy.

We are looking for someone with, strong research and analytical skills, including experience with qualitative and quantitative methods; excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.; sound knowledge of UK health policy, particularly in primary and community care in England; a collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams and disciplines; and, confidence in presenting complex ideas clearly to senior stakeholders and the media.

The Policy Team aims to support evidence-informed health and social care policy in the UK. We analyse national policy developments, assess system performance, and explore strategies to improve population health and reduce inequalities. Our work spans public health, primary and community care, social care, and health system reform, and contributes to the Health Foundation’s strategic priority of improving health and care policy.

The role

Currently, pancreatic cancer has a five-year survival rate of just 7% due to late diagnosis and a lack of effective treatments. As our Head of Research, you’ll help us work with leading pancreatic cancer experts to develop an innovative strategy to accelerate research into this devastating disease in the UK. Pancreatic Cancer UK invests around £2.5 million in research each year. About the role

Our People and Culture team are hiring a Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join the team to support with ensuring our staff are paid efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will play a pivotal part of the team to support with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any additional relevant activities. You will utilise the tools and resources available to ensure we meet the needs of all our stakeholders and comply with legal matters. The role will further include:

• Taking ownership of administrative tasks in the payroll and pensions process, being the point of contact for enquiries in this area.
• Supporting the administrative process of payroll and pensions, including with the database/system, ensure that any problems are identified with the relevant departments for effective resolution.

You will liaise with tutors, students, and volunteers to support training courses, and you will help maintain the smooth running of the charity’s flagship publication by managing subscriptions, liaising with area representatives, and proofreading copy.

Your role will also cover a variety of essential administrative functions, from maintaining the charity’s database and website to processing orders and payments, coordinating the digital newsletter, and supporting national events. 1. Just Like Us (3.5 days/week): To support the delivery of Just Like Us’ Ambassador and School Talks programmes – including recruitment, training and coordination of young LGBT+ volunteers and engaging with schools to foster inclusive environments. 

2.  Black Queer & Thriving: There is potential for this role to expand in scope (up to 1.5 additional days per week), subject to funding. Should this occur, the role may include additional responsibilities in line with the aims of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group and Southwark engagement priorities. Any change in working hours or duties would be discussed and agreed in advance. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Just Like Us (3.5 days/week) 

- Support the delivery of the Ambassador Programme, including recruitment, training and retention of LGBT+ volunteers aged 18–25. 

- Coordinate and run community events for Black LGBT+ young people to support outreach and recruitment of volunteers. 

- Represent Just Like Us at events such as conferences and prides to amplify our programmes to a range of audiences. 

- Support Just Like Us volunteer recruitment drives by building relationships with university societies and volunteering services, community partners and charity partners in London and the South East. 

- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of LGBT+ mentors. 

- Attend relevant cross-team meetings with the Just Like Us team such as the fortnightly Ambassador Recruitment meeting 

- Support with the quality assurance of school talks through observations and slide checks. 

- Assist the volunteering team with the coordination and delivery of ambassador skills workshops where needed. 

- Work with the project evaluation consultant to assist with the running of focus groups.

- Conduct exit interviews with Black LGBT+ ambassadors. 

-Support on a social action project with Black LGBT+ ambassadors in Year 3 

- Ensure all activities are inclusive, trauma-informed and aligned with principles of equity and justice.

This is an extremely diverse job, supporting all aspects of the CSA Centre's busy and impactful policy and communications functions, from assisting in the production and design of digital content for our website, social media channels and newsletter, to helping us respond to emerging trends in policy and practice. It would be a great opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience and expertise across a wide range of different workstreams - no two days are the same in this role!

As Policy and Communications Assistant at the CSA Centre you will play a key role in tackling child sexual abuse, alongside the work of our colleagues across practice, research, policy, communications and training. This is important work - the CSA Centre conservatively estimates that one in ten children will experience some form of child sexual abuse before age of 16, and our ambitious programme seeks to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of professionals (social workers, teachers, social workers, nurses etc.) in identifying and responding to child sexual abuse. We have already made great progress, but there is much more to be done – and we need your help to do it!

This role is currently funded until 31 March 2026, in line with the current grant funding arrangements for the CSA Centre. This will be reviewed in late 2025, as future funding for the CSA Centre from 2026/27 onwards is clarified.

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently until March 2026 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. This contract is due to expire on 31.03.26.

We are the Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA Centre). Our aim is to reduce the impact of child sexual abuse through improved prevention and better response. To tackle child sexual abuse we must better understand its causes, scope, scale and impact.

First established in 2017, we are a multi-disciplinary team that is funded by the Home Office, hosted by Barnardo's and we work closely with key partners from academic institutions, local authorities, health, education, police and the voluntary sector. We're proudly independent and our team will challenge any barriers, assumptions, taboos and ways of working that prevent us from increasing our understanding and improving our approach to child sexual abuse.

We bring about change by:

• Collating and analysing existing research, policy, practice and the real experiences of those affected, and filling the gaps we identify with new research, insights and analysis;
• Using that evidence and insight to challenge and improve existing policy and practice, develop new approaches and increase everyone's knowledge and confidence to more effectively tackle the issue.

This role is home-based with regular travel required, usually to London.

We’re looking for a kind and compassionate person to join our Family Support team, working directly with families who are facing the unthinkable – the news that their child has cancer or a life-challenging condition.

Primarily based at St George’s, Royal Marsden (transitioning to Evelina, Westminster in 2026), Kingston Hospital and St Peter’s, Chertsey. Travel to other partnered hospitals across London and Surrey as required. Includes at least one monthly meeting at our East Molesey office. 

As our Hospital Family Support Worker, you’ll visit children, young people and their families on the wards of our partnered hospitals. You’ll be a consistent, reassuring presence, offering emotional and practical support when it’s most needed – and helping families feel less alone.

You’ll meet families already known to Momentum, as well as take new referrals. You’ll also support families remotely who live further afield or are adjusting to life after treatment.

This role is about being that calm, empathetic and kind person who makes a difference just by showing up. You’ll be a trusted part of hospital life, and a key link between the families, Momentum, and the wider healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Offer emotional and practical support to families, being a warm and reliable presence during their hospital stay.

· Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships with parents, carers, children and young people.

· Meet families in hospital, explain our support services, and complete referral forms for further help.

· Work closely with hospital professionals, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, deliver training on Momentum’s service and sharing relevant updates with the wider Momentum team.

· Keep accurate records of your work, including family interactions and safeguarding concerns.

· Understand and follow all safeguarding, child protection, and lone working policies.

· Report any safeguarding concerns in line with our policies and procedures.

· Support Momentum’s fundraising and communications by sharing family stories (with consent) and identifying case studies.

· Ensure all actions reflect Momentum’s values and vision – that no family with a seriously ill child should have to cope alone.
