About HIAS+JCORE
HIAS+JCORE is the UK Jewish response to refuge and asylum. Our vision is a UK where refugees can live in dignity, in a society free from racism. This work is driven by the belief that the Jewish community should play an active part in empowering refugees to thrive.
Our organisation came into this form through the joining of operations between two organisations: the UK-based JCORE (Jewish Council for Racial Equality) and HIAS, a global humanitarian aid and advocacy organisation. Role purpose
The Fundraising Trustee will bring expertise, insight, and strategic guidance to help the charity strengthen and diversify its income. Working with the Board and staff/volunteers, they will ensure fundraising is ethical, sustainable, and aligned with the charity’s mission and values.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall governance of the charity as a member of the Board of Trustees.
 - Provide advice and support on fundraising strategy, ensuring income generation is realistic and compliant with regulation.
 - Act as a fundraising champion on HIAS+JCORE’s board, working with and supporting other trustees to explore fundraising possibilities.
 - If networks for fundraising exist, use them to support the work of the charity.
 - Support the development of diverse fundraising streams (e.g. individual giving, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, corporate support) and advise and support with appeals and major fundraising events/campaigns.
 - Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation and best practice, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, and through HIAS+JCORE’s policies and procedures.
 - Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting its work and helping to raise its profile.

Overview
Established in 2019 and supporting a community of over 30,000 families ARFID Awareness UK is the only registered UK charity dedicated to raising awareness and further information about Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. As a not-for-profit, we provide individuals, parents, carers and medical professionals with up-to-date relevant information, research and support.
We are equally committed to supporting medical professionals across varying specialities, by equipping them with the information they need to ensure that their patients receive an early diagnosis and have access to appropriate care.
Our charitable aims are to:
1) Raising awareness about the condition within the medical and associated professions and the general public in such ways as the trustees shall determine;
2) Providing advice and information in such ways as the trustees shall determine to enable and empower parents and carers to advocate for the children in their care;
3) Facilitating research into the condition, the useful results of which will be published for the public benefit;
4) Potentially providing grants of financial assistance to enable economically disadvantaged families to obtain necessary treatment and medication unavailable via the NHS.
5) Advancing the education of the public in the subject of ARFID.
With regards to our structure, we are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). As a CIO, our Charity Trustees are protected with limited liability, and whilst they are responsible for helping to manage the organisation, they do not hold dual roles of Company Director as they might with other charity structures.
Our mission is to remove the uncertainty, ambiguity and frustrations experienced by parents, carers and individuals over obtaining a diagnosis and treatment by providing general advice that may improve their journey.
Time Commitment
Trustees meet twice a year virtually. Meetings last approximately 2 hours.
The Remuneration Committee meets once per year virtually. Meetings last approximately 1 hour.
In addition, Trustees are expected to allow time for reading of papers and preparation for meetings, attending events training and induction. As a small charity there may also be a requirement for additional input of approximately 1-2 hours per month specific to your professional background and expertise as we continue through a period of growth.
Purpose of the role:

The Board of trustees (‘the Board’) is the body with the legal duty to protect the mission and vision of ARFID Awareness UK and to ensure that it is run in accordance with legal requirements.
The role of the Board is to provide good governance and leadership by:
· Shaping ARFID Awareness UK’s organisational strategy
· Approving organisational statutory policy
· Ensuring the organisation’s financial stability and sustainability
· Appointing the Executive Director/s (overseen by the Chair of the Board on behalf of the Board)
· Providing support and constructive challenge to the Executive Director/s and their staff
· Setting and monitoring procedures for assessing and managing risk
· Taking advice from Board members and external specialist advisors
· Monitoring strategy performance
· Representing ARFID Awareness UK externally where necessary
As a charity CIO, Board members are charity trustees only. They do not represent any group or organisation in this role and they must act in good faith and in the best interests of ARFID Awareness UK.

Crossness Pumping Station (overseen by the Crossness Engines Trust) is a unique and valuable museum of UK and world reknown telling the history of how the ambitious management of sewage transformed London as a city of growth and innovation in the 1860s and helped eradicate cholera. Preserved and restored by a group of enthusiasts since 1987, we are now entering a second phase of major restoration and we need visionary trustees who can help us achieve it.

Every 11 minutes this Winter, a family will lose their home. We provide vital services to those at risk, with our emergency helpline, housing rights campaigns, legal and emotional support.
The main thing we need you to do is help us lead and coordinate our bucket collection at Slough High Street. You’ll be vital to our fundraising efforts for the Winter Appeal.
You’ll support volunteers to help us to create an energetic and friendly atmosphere to gather donations. You will also be the main point of contact if any volunteers have any issues.

The Rees Foundation is a national charity based in Worcestershire that seeks to support adults who have, at some stage in their lives, been in foster care or residential care. Trustee – Funding & Bid Application Review
We are seeking a new Trustee to strengthen our multi-skilled and hard-working board, with specific expertise in funding and bid applications.
While we already have skilled board members and volunteers who can write strong funding applications, what we currently lack is the time and experience to:

 - Review and filter which opportunities are worth pursuing

This new Trustee role would add significant value to the work we already provide - by helping us focus our efforts on the most promising funding sources.
Skills and Background
We are open to a range of professional backgrounds. You may not be actively working or may have a little time free to support us in this role, but we are looking for people who can bring the following:
- Experience in bid applications, grant funding, or fundraising — particularly in identifying and assessing opportunities
 - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to weigh up eligibility, likelihood of success, and fit with our charity’s mission
 - Confidence in working with information, making judgements, and communicating clear summaries to colleagues
 - A background in areas such as fundraising, charity administration, project management, finance, business development, or legal/governance would all be relevant and useful
 
Commitment
As a Trustee, this voluntary role involves attending Board meetings, which are approximately every two months, an annual strategy day, occasional working groups and the AGM. Meetings are held in person where possible, with online options available. We also hold fundraising events, which you are warmly encouraged to support. The expected commitment is around 10 hours a month, including reviewing opportunities and communicating with fellow Trustees and staff via email, WhatsApp, or phone.

Cambridge Women’s Aid has been supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse for over 40 years. We are currently searching for new trustees to join our board.
Effective governance is key to the success and sustainability of our organisation. As a trustee, you will be able to use your experience, energy and creativity to shape our approach and help us to achieve our mission. This would include writing a weekly “point of view” piece that focuses on an area that Living Reasons engages in, whether this is research data reporting, lived experience storytelling or news highlight pieces.
Additionally to writing posts, you may also want to work with the social media coordinator to create video posts or even look at creating a podcast for the charity, the options are limitless as at Living Reasons, we encourage the entire team to bring ideas to the table and empower you to run with them, with the support of the organisation.
