An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Project Manager – Apprentice to join the Estates team. Your role is to contribute to the successful delivery of a number of projects and small works, ensuring the scope and benefits are achieved as planned.

Minimum age 18 and commitment to complete an 18 month apprenticeship with studying and theory along side work.

Role Requirements

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to precisely define project scope and objectives, eliciting technical requirements to formulate detailed specifications, cost assessments, and delivery schedules, while maintaining close coordination with stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and key milestones.
• Contribute to the development and presentation of key project documents for stakeholder approval and governance.
• Assist the Project Manager in overseeing capital and operational projects and other minor works throughout the organisation, taking ownership of the successful delivery of assigned projects and tasks throughout the project lifecycle, raising any issues / risks and reporting on a regular basis.
• Work within agreed budget and available resource, reporting on forecast, spend and raising any variations to the Project Manager.
• Build and maintain good relationships with all project stakeholders using a variety of communication methods.
• Track and assess project performance and outcomes using relevant tools and methodologies to collate and analyse data to report on project performance.
• Identify and monitor project risks and issues; and plan and implement responses to them.
• Assist in planning and coordinating the resources – human, financial and material – required for effective project delivery, working with the Senior Engineer to advise on resources from in-house Maintenance Team for up-coming projects.
• Apply quality management systems and tools to ensure project outcomes meet all legislative, regulatory and local standards.
• Participate in post project evaluation to document lessons learned, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist the Project Manager with collation of all Estates compliance certificates and service report onto the compliance register.
• Provide input, as required, to monthly compliance reports.
• Provide updates on required remedial works, as necessary.

Dennis Handfield House is part of the Camden adult pathway and is a 39 bed service for males and females. There is a staff team of 5 Complex Needs Worker, Specialist Complex Needs Worker, Day Concierge and Night Team, we also have a Work and Learnings Worker and Psychotherapist shared across SHP.

About Alexandra Rose Charity 

Founded by Queen Alexandra in 1912, Alexandra Rose Charity (ARC) has a long history of supporting people experiencing poverty in the UK. Our vision is for everyone to have access to healthy and affordable food, and our mission is to give families on low incomes access to fresh fruit and vegetables in their local communities whilst advocating for systemic change to address food insecurity and health inequalities.
Since 2014, ARC has pioneered the use of financial incentives to improve access to healthy food and combat food insecurity through our Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg projects. To date, we have supported over 11,000 families, including over 20,000 children, to access £3.5 million of fresh fruit and vegetables in their local communities.
To deliver this scale, we work with 73 children and family centres and community organisations, 69 market traders and independent retailers, two fruit and vegetable vans and one fruit and vegetable delivery box scheme. We estimate that our projects have generated a total economic value added of almost £9 million for the local economies of the eight locations where we work: five London Boroughs, Barnsley, Liverpool and Glasgow.   
As part of our new five-year strategy, we want to grow our reach and impact as part of a national movement where Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg projects are embedded in local and national policies and seen as a key intervention for transforming the diets of communities across the UK.

About the role
ARC has made significant progress in evaluating and demonstrating the impact of our Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg projects. We have developed evaluation tools and theories of change to measure how our work improves the diets, health, and well-being of children, adults and families. Additionally, we have commissioned economic impact assessments, offering valuable insights into the wider benefits of our approach.
As we launch our new five-year strategy, we are seeking a passionate Impact and Evaluation Manager to lead our research and evaluation initiatives. This role will play a key part in assessing and enhancing the effectiveness of our projects, strengthening our evaluations by exploring causal links to health outcomes and tracking long-term beneficiary impact beyond their time in the projects.
Working closely with the Head of Advocacy, Impact, and Communications, the Impact and Evaluation Manager will identify gaps in our evidence base, collect compelling data and stories, and help build a strong case for policy change. They will also develop academic partnerships, leveraging existing relationships to enable rigorous research that deepens our understanding of the impact of our work.

King’s Global Health Partnerships works with health facilities, academic institutions and governments to strengthen health systems and improve the quality of care in five countries: Somaliland, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and The Gambia. We bring together health, academic and international development expertise from King’s College London, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and our international partners to:

• Educate, train and support healthcare workers
• Strengthen healthcare and training institutions
• Enhance national health policies and systems

We connect UK and African health professionals, providing training, mentoring and hands-on support; and undertake collaborative research to inform policy and practice. We also support our partners by providing access to funding, networks and development opportunities. Through these long-term partnerships and our global volunteering scheme we promote skills and knowledge exchange, and mutual learning that contribute to building a stronger health workforce and improved quality of healthcare both internationally and in the UK.

Our partnership in Somaliland is over twenty years old and over that time we have built a track record in health workforce development.  With a focus on Maternal and Child health we have supported our partners in Somaliland to strengthen pre-service education and training for the next generation of doctors, nurses and midwives. 

Our partnership in Zambia is six years old. King’s Global Health Partnerships (KGHP) initiated a long-term partnership with Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital and Ndola Teaching hospital, in Ndola province, Zambia. Work in Zambia has focused on maternal and newborn health, breast cancer surgery, antimicrobial stewardship and health worker wellbeing.

KGHP is based within the School of Life Course & Population Sciences. The School of Life Course & Population Sciences is one of five Schools that make up the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King’s College London. The School unites experts across 5 departments, Women and Children’s health, Nutritional Sciences, Population Health Sciences, Ophthalmology and Twins & Genetic Epidemiology, overall covering the complexities of life course health & disease from individual cells molecular genetics to whole population level.

Our research links the causes of common health problems to life’s landmark stages, treating life, disease and healthcare as a continuum. We are interdisciplinary by nature and hugely successful: 91 per cent of our research submitted to the Subjects Allied to Medicine (Pharmacy, Nutritional Sciences and Women's Health cluster) for REF was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. We use this expertise to teach the next generation of health professionals and research scientists. Based across King’s Guy’s, St Thomas’, Waterloo and Denmark Hill campuses, our academic programme of research, teaching and clinical practice is embedded across all SLCPS departments.

About the role

We are looking for a Programme Manager to lead on the management of our current programme activities in Somaliland and Zambia. The role will lead on the management of various grants/ projects within our Somaliland and Zambia partnerships as well as strengthening our partnership approaches in these two countries. The role will be responsible for project closeout, startup of new projects secured as well as developing new funding proposals to support the aims as set out in our partnership and organisational strategies. 

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. BSc or MSc in Global Health or International Relations or aligned subject
2. Relevant experience managing multiple projects (including large and complex grants/contracts) throughout the full project cycle, preferably projects delivered by consortiums
3. Relevant experience working collaboratively with partner organisations in low resource settings
4. Financial management and budgeting experience for complex multi-year, multi-partner projects
5. Experience of developing MEL strategies for large and complex programmes, including developing indicators, theories of change, learning processes
6. Experience coordinating and managing the development of successful funding proposals including institutional donors such as FCDO and the DHSC
7. Significant experience in donor compliance and relationship management, preferably including trusts and foundations and institutional donors
8. Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, actively addressing areas of potential bias

Desirable criteria

1. Knowledge/expertise of global health, health systems strengthening, or health workforce
2. Exceptional planning, organisation and execution skills
3. Strong communication skills: written and verbal

The Salvation Army – Supporter Acquisition Manager x 2

The Salvation Army, the UK’s leading social welfare charity, is seeking two Supporter Acquisition Managers to project manage and lead on day-to-day delivery of supporter acquisition appeals.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest, most diverse providers of social and community services after the Government. With more than 600 local centres and nearly 100 residential centres, they make a powerful difference to people across the UK who might otherwise be excluded.

Along with the Assistant Head of Individual Giving, the Supporter Acquisition Managers are  responsible for growing the organisation’s file of donors and hitting an annual Individual Giving team fundraising target of £50 million in unrestricted income. As a direct marketing subject matter expert, they will lead cold recruitment campaigns and support in identifying and delivering new products or acquisition streams. The roles will lead on planning and project managing delivery of a variety of media channels, both online and offline. Each manager will hold strategic areas of focus, be responsible for seven figure expenditure budgets and line manage a Supporter Acquisition Officer or Executive.

The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors.  You will have a passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

Excellent numeracy and strong analytical skills will be combined with excellent written communication abilities and a good attention to detail and ability to prioritise work. Finally, you will have the ability and willingness to work within, and be empathic with, the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission.

Elders Voice, a charity supporting older people, are excited to be joining a consortium of organisations, that will work together on making Brent an age friendly borough. Led by the Brent Pensioner’s Forum, the consortium’s aim is to make Brent a place where people can live healthy and active later lives; a place where the environment, activities and services enable older people to enjoy life, participate in society and be valued for their contribution.

We are looking for a coordinator to develop and implement a borough-wide action plan, that addresses the eight barriers to the wellbeing and participation of older people, as identified by the World Health Organisation (WHO) under their Age Friendly Cities Framework. This action plan will help Brent fulfil its vision of becoming an age friendly borough. The post is funded by a grant from Brent Council and will report into the CEO of Elders Voice.
