As the official charity partner of North Bristol NHS Trust, Southmead Hospital Charity (SHC) raises funds to support the healthcare services at Southmead Hospital, Cossham Hospital and in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset communities. We are looking for an exceptional administrator to join our small and dynamic team. You will be joining an ambitious and successful team with exciting plans to impact more patients, research and increasing support our staff across the Trust. 

This is an exciting time to work for an official NHS charity. We've got ambitious plans to grow our income and impact over the next 12 months, including launching a new fundraising appeal to support victims of stroke and neurological injuries. You'll work collaboratively across the team to identify opportunities to reach new audiences, maximise awareness and leverage our existing supporter base to help us reach our goal. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Charity’s fundraising team providing administrative support to the whole team to enable all fundraising roles to focus on activity which is strategic, relational and proactive. With specific responsibility for the delivery of donation thank you letters, stewardship calls, event participation registration and some research, the role will work collaboratively with those responsible for all income streams.

The post holder will require a good knowledge of fundraising and networking skills with the ability to identify influential contacts both internally and externally.

Working closely with NBT colleagues, SHC delivered 501 projects to support patients, their families, and our 12,500-strong workforce.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

General

• Deliver high quality administrative support to the fundraising team including personalised thank you letters and quality stewardship calls that deepen relationships, encourage regular giving, prompt event participation registration and research. 

• Act as the main contact person for the team for incoming queries from inside and outside NBT, including managing team centralised mailboxes and providing additional administrative support to all members of the team as and when required 

• Support the Community Fundraising Manager as required. 

• Support the Charity Director and Head of Fundraising to ensure that a donor centric approach is at the core of all activity and that high standards are developed and maintained throughout the Charity team.

• To provide the Director, Head of Fundraising and all team colleagues with detailed updates through regular team reports. 

• Ensure that all cash handling, banking, donor acknowledgement and receipts are kept in accordance with charity best practice. 

• Demonstrating a positive and proactive approach in supporting the team by planning, arranging relevant materials, setting up meetings and preparing, attending and following up from events. 

• Keep up to date on all new governance regulations issued by the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Information Commissioner’s Office. 

• Maintain and develop key relationships with stake holders such as fundraisers and donors. 

• Support the activity of the corporate and legacy fundraising programmes by funnelling through opportunities for wider relationship development to maximise total charity income. 

• Support and deliver the activity within the grateful patients’ programme. 

• Collate and send information and material as requested by fundraisers and supporters including fundraising packs, forms, t-shirts, banners and ensure accurate stock information is maintained. 

• Work collaboratively with data insight, and marketing and communications colleagues as well as wider NBT staff to develop in-depth knowledge of services/projects and gain access to quality information/data to strengthen proposals and to effectively report on impact. 

Other 

• Adhere at all times to the Charity’s policies and procedures. 

• Ensure the effective and efficient use of the Charity’s resources.

• Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest professional standard. 

• Be aware of the responsibilities with regard to Head and Safety. 

• To liaise with staff involved in specific events and projects which will include volunteers and external agencies. 

• Ensure that all data is handled confidentially and is compliant with the Data Protection Act, especially with regard to records of donors and volunteers. 

• Will have to meet and work with members of the public at fundraising events. 

• Will have to work from other locations as and when necessary. 

• Will have to work some evenings and weekends as and when necessary (time off in lieu agreed).

As a registered charity, Sharewear Clothing Scheme has been working to alleviate clothing poverty by providing emergency clothing and bedding to those that need it across the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and surrounding areas since we opened our doors in March 2014. In that time, we have reached well over 20,000 people in need of our support. We operate in two ways, both on a referral basis, and an outreach basis. About the Role

Position: Fundraising & Development Manager

Location: Hybrid working between remote and from our base in Edwalton, Nottingham. This role may require some require flexible working, such as attending events that may be in evenings or weekends.

Hours: 25 hours per week (part-time), across Monday to Thursday

Strategic Income Generation: 

• Liaise with the Board to develop a multi-year income generation strategy aligned to Sharewear’s goals, ensuring a sustainable income from individual, corporate, legacy and trust donations, and  development of new income streams to enable growth.

Fundraising: 

• Oversee and deliver fundraising activities across individual giving, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraising.

• Write compelling and creative funding applications and partnership proposals to secure financial support. Work closely with the operations team in supporting funding applications and pitches where appropriate to bring funders closer to our work. 

• To inspire a culture of fundraising across the charity. Support staff and volunteers in promoting digital and social media engagement of fundraising. 

Develop Sustainable Relationships: 

• Represent the charity externally with stakeholders, networks, and partners, ensuring impactful storytelling and donor engagement, including in-person meetings, providing representation at events and in the media.

Business Development:

• Identify new income opportunities

• Confidence using social media to promote the organisation and it’s fundraising events, look for new opportunities and identify, research and contact potential supporters. 

• To undertake other duties as required commensurate with this post, such as travel as necessary for events and fundraising activities.

Essential Skills and Experience

• An experienced corporate or trust fundraiser, with a strong track record of securing funding, particularly from trusts and grants.

• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with experience of relationship management within philanthropy, or a business development or client account management role. 

• Ability to think commercially - identifies and progresses opportunities for funding / organisational growth, innovation and collaborative working. 

• Experience in using social media and website platforms to promote fundraising activities.

• Willingness to get involved and go the extra mile.

• Results driven, with a proactive and autonomous approach to achieving targets and goals.

The Welfare Association (WA-UK) is a UK registered charity supporting transformative development projects and humanitarian relief interventions to empower and benefit Palestinian communities in the West Bank, Gaza and the refugee camps in Lebanon.  WA-UK partners with Taawon and its network of local Palestinian organisations and international actors operating in the region.  WA-UK projects in the sectors of health, education and development are the outcome of a locally led needs assessment exercise and are designed in consultation with its partners and implemented by local actors.

WA-UK is governed by a Board of Trustees.

Job purpose: We are seeking a motivated, experienced Fundraising & Public Interface Officer who will work with the Board to deliver WA-UK’s objectives by growing its income from a diverse funding pool including but not limited to trusts & foundations, legacy and individual giving and community giving.  You will develop WA-UK’s fundraising strategy (online and offline) and lead on its implementation. The post holder will be responsible for increasing the charity’s public profile and oversee the daily operation of the charity.  Leading a small innovative and dynamic team, you will also be exposed to other areas of work events and communications. 

Duties & Key Responsibilities

Development and implementation of fundraising strategies

Guided by WA-UK’s objectives and strategic priorities the postholder will:

· develop a fundraising strategy, set targets and take proactive steps to implement the strategy;

· consolidate, strengthen and build on donor and stakeholder engagement and maximize income generation through strategies developed in coordination with partners; 

· develop a portfolio of donors and ensure that their objectives and needs are met;

· lead on the growth and quality of institutional funding sources; consolidate and strengthen existing institutional donor relations; revitalise any dormant institutional donor relations;

· support the programme officer to prepare, submit and present proposals and concept notes to donors;

· with the programme officer, maintain and manage a donor reporting calendar to ensure production of timely and appropriate reports that demonstrate the impact of their grants;

· significantly expand the charity’s funding and support base; aim to increase regular monthly/ annual donations;

· with the communications officer develop and implement strategies to grow and retain support of individual and community donors;

· identify, research, and develop major givers, whether giving as individuals or through trusts or companies;

· ensure that all major donors are provided with the highest level of stewardship;

· with the communication officer and key partners, plan and deliver campaigns and events; develop online strategies and coordinate messaging to raise funds for appeals and projects.

· ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system on all existing and prospective donors;

· monitor and apply for grants to enable the charity to advance its objectives.

Public interface and outreach activities

The postholder will:

· promote the charity’s public profile including through participation in diverse fora including with other stakeholders, charities, NGOs;

· attend networking events if/when needed and speak on behalf of the charity; and

· plan for and run at least two public outreach and/or fundraising events per year including with partners.

Leadership for staff and supporting the board of trustees

The appointee will:

· lead and manage a small team of staff;

· oversee the daily operation of the charity including compliance with relevant laws and regulations;

· ensure the financial stability of the charity;

· provide regular briefings to trustees and if required prepare documents and agendas for board meetings; and

· contribute to the content of reports issued by and for the board including the annual reports.

We seek a proactive Philanthropy Manager to join its successful Fundraising Team and lead the organisation's first-ever major donor programme. This new role offers the opportunity to shape how the charity engages with high-net-worth individuals from the ground up. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the postholder will develop and implement a new major donor strategy and cultivate long-term relationships with major donors. The role will also involve working closely with senior leadership, subject matter experts and trustees to identify and engage prospects, host donor events, and steward high-value supporters.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and hands-on fundraiser with a strong track record in major donor giving. They will be skilled at building meaningful relationships and crafting compelling communications that inspire support. The Role

As CEO, you’ll be the strategic lead for the charity with some operational oversight too. It is a tough fundraising climate and so we are increasing capacity by establishing a 2nd Fundraising Manager position. We want someone who is not only an experienced and successful fundraiser but also someone who is bold and brave, able to hit the ground running.

Trusts and Grants Fundraising - Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Research and identify new trust and foundation prospects.
• Draft and submit high-quality funding applications and reports.
• Maintain a calendar of deadlines and stewardship activities.
• Record and track pledges, donations, and grant income.
• Ensure that all reporting is completed in a timely and professional manner.
• Work closely with the Education and Operations teams to ensure they have all the information they need to deliver work related to restricted funding.

Fundraising Administration

• Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and ensure data integrity.
• Reconcile income records with the finance team.
• Process donations and Gift Aid claims.
• Support income tracking and reporting.

Supporter Care

• Ensure timely and appropriate donor thanking.
• Respond to supporter queries via email and phone when needed.
• Assist with donor communications and stewardship planning.
• Working with the Comms and Operations Teams to assist with fundraising marketing, website and social media content.
• Working to consolidate and grow our group of recurring donors.
• Support with processing payments and donations online, in-person and over the phone, depositing cheques and cash donations.
• Help manage the stewardship calendar for major donors throughout the year.

Events Support

• Help coordinate logistics and communications for fundraising events.
• Track income and pledges from events like the Annual Lunch.
• Support with ticketing, invoicing, and donor follow-up.

Collaboration and Compliance

• Work closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, comms, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations.
