The British Society for Immunology (BSI) is recruiting a permanent full-time Senior Marketing & Communications Officer to deliver engaging communications to a variety of audiences to drive the reach and influence of the Society’s work. 

The British Society for Immunology is an influential and authoritative voice for immunology, a key scientific and health field that plays a central role in many of the most pressing global health challenges we face, including research into the COVID-19 pandemic, developing new treatments and vaccines against disease, and supporting ageing populations to experience healthier lives for longer. This role is split equally between supporting activities of the BSI and those of our publishing portfolio. On the BSI side, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our marketing and communications activity through a variety of channels. Activities can include promoting our membership offering to immunologists working in academia, industry and the clinical sector, promoting key activities such as our events or training offerings, and supporting initiatives to raise the importance and influence of immunology. On publishing, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful marketing activities to increase submissions and readership of our official journals, Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology, in particular building the reputation of our newer Open Access journals

Role Overview: 

The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI.

The Royal Marsden offers hybrid working, with a requirement of 2 days per week based at their Chelsea or Sutton site, with occasional working from Chelsea or Sutton site. Salary for this role is between £40-44k per year.

The Marketing Campaign Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery, and measurement of defined marketing campaigns, seeking efficiencies and development opportunities for growth. As a dedicated marketing resource in this small but energetic charity team, the role of marketing assistant is to help elevate Youth Talk’s story and brand awareness amongst its target markets. The primary focus and accountability is to deliver on fundraising goals, driving awareness and new funding leads from its designated target markets.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager this will include responsibility for creating and managing impactful marketing content and campaigns that grow the brand profile and drive fundraising income. This would be working across all channels including social media, search, PR, events and website content. Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

Duties and Key relationships Marketing and Communications

This is a new role in the Marketing and Communications department and is responsible for the media relations of the Charity.  

PR and Media Relations

• To develop relevant media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.

• Produce creative copy written for a variety of audience groups which champions and shows best practice of our tone of voice

• Develop and support in house PR roll out

· Work with external PR agency on selected press releases where relevant

The new Marketing Officer will act as marketing lead for Hand in Hand’s corporate partners, including social content, drafting blogs, and editing pitches, working closely with the fundraising team.

To be successful, you will have marketing experience either in an in-house, or agency role, with excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills. You will be a competent digital marketer, with experience using digital marketing tools, and design software. You will be an effective and thoughtful communicator, able to build effective relationships with colleagues and corporate donors. It is desirable, but not a necessity to have experience, or understanding of the charity sector, women’s rights, and/or International Development.

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research. 

The brand tone is ambitious, collaborative, rigorous, trustworthy, optimistic and resolute in pursuing a future without childhood cancer.

We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's  charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
• Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
• Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
• Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
• Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
• Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
• Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
• Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
• Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.
• Steward and renew existing partner relationships through exceptional account management.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop co-branded campaigns, marketing assets and employee engagement initiatives.
• Track and report on fundraising activities including pipeline, projections and results.
• Develop fundraising marketing materials and content for website, social media, etc.

The person:

A highly motivated, organised, goal focused, self-starter with;

• 5+ years of corporate fundraising, sales and/or account management experience
• Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
• Experience of bid writing and supporter stewardship
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop compelling fundraising proposals and presentations.
• Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
• Entrepreneurial drive and commitment to achieving targets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Sound understanding of fundraising compliance and best practices.

We now have an opportunity for a fixed term Performance Marketing Specialist to join us at Battersea. This role is responsible for delivering, optimising and evaluating Battersea’s digital advertising campaigns, specialising in paid social advertising channels such as Meta and TikTok. You will implement and manage large annual media spends to support the achievement of strategic objectives and individual campaign targets.

We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to manage the development of Brand focused digital media plans, from media planning through to implementation and end of campaign reporting. You will be required to deliver against performance targets and establish paid social activity as a key acquisition driver for teams and objectives across the organisation. You will also advise and recommend the best use of the platforms to hit performance targets.

To be successful in this opportunity, you will need excellent creative skills, and strong experience in developing campaign strategies and implementing a busy social media advertising plan, with a proven ability to manage large budgets across multiple ad platforms.
