Role
Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as direct mail, organic and paid social advertising, email, private sites, SMS and telemarketing.

About the role:
We're looking for an Individual Giving Manager who will lead the charity’s individual giving programme during an exciting period of growth. You will deliver key activities aimed at building our profile, donor base and unrestricted income in line with our strategic objectives. This will be achieved through the delivery and strategic development of warm and cold cash acquisition, a face-to-face regular giving programme, effective retention strategies and initiatives that will build our contactable base of supporters. This role will also be responsible for the development of our gifts in wills programme, including creating marketing campaigns and materials to grow gifts in wills income. The role is involved in both strategic planning and implementation.
This role is a unique opportunity to double income from individual giving and be an integral member of a hardworking, friendly and passionate team. Our staff benefits:

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.

We’re looking for a confident, proactive and people-focused Client Attraction & Engagement Officer to lead on visibility and outreach for Toynbee Hall’s Money Coaching and Money Support services across Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust (GSTT) sites. You’ll play a key role by attending roadshows, distributing materials, keeping displays up to date, and acting as a warm first point of contact for staff across the Trust. This is a public-facing, movement-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys speaking to people, working across different locations, and making things happen on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach and Engagement
- Represent Toynbee Hall at 2-3 staff roadshows per week (50 by end June 2026) across GSTT sites and community venues
- Speak confidently with staff about the Money Coaching offer and how to access support
- Distribute flyers, multilingual leaflets and signposting materials
- Be a visible and approachable presence at roadshows, pop-ups and events
- Attend meetings and events in person or online to promote the service
Marketing Materials and Display Maintenance
- Support the installation and regular restocking of 30 “Money Support Hub” wall-mounted displays
- Report any damage, updates or replenishment needs to the Marketing Manager
- Feedback on which sites are generating the most footfall and engagement
Monitoring and Reporting
- Log engagement stats from each event (e.g. conversations, materials distributed, referrals made)
- Share weekly updates with the Marketing Manager/ Head of Legal Advice on reach and feedback
- Flag common themes and ideas for improvement

As Senior Direct Marketing Officer, you will operate with a level of autonomy, build excellent stakeholder relationships and deliver outstanding fundraising campaigns. A focus on results will be vital but how these are achieved will also form a large part of the role; considering the non-financial measures of quality in addition to more traditional measures of success.
Working with a number of teams and suppliers, you’ll be delivering direct marketing activity through a range of channels and media. The programme is an evolving one with change and growth happening in a lot of interesting areas. Your role will be to help to develop the supporter engagement programme; taking responsibility for long-term projects that will improve the future optimisation of campaigns. You’ll also be responsible for delivering exceptional fundraising campaigns to achieve ambitious income targets.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive postholder, to cover a period of maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management
· Plan, manage and deliver successful campaigns across a range of channels and media.
· Manage projects that will improve the long-term success of campaigns.
· Deliver motivational fundraiser training and develop engaging fundraiser materials with agency stakeholders to ensure high-quality fundraising.
· Ensure compliance and adherence to regulation and codes of practice is considered in all campaign activity. This could include mystery shopping and call listening.
· Work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to ensure effective processes are worked to and full campaign evaluation is possible.
· Continuous improvement through test and learn principles across all activity.
· Integration of campaigns across the charity to drive maximum value.
· Development of compelling communications and materials to support all activities.
People management
· Management and development of the Direct Marketing Executive - Engagement.
· Ensure direct report has clear, SMART objectives and a development plan in place.
· Complete routine 1-1 meetings and annual appraisals.
· Ensure direct report has goals and a development plan written up which are routinely reviewed.
· Agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating, to routine performance reviews.
Planning and budgeting
· Input to annual planning and development of individual giving campaigns.
· Support in the compilation of detailed income and expenditure campaign budgets.
· Work with Direct Marketing Manager in developing the Engagement programme and strategy.
· Input to monthly forecasting and regular reporting across a range of financial and non-financial KPIs.
Finance and reporting
· Ensure daily campaign tracking and reporting.
· Routine end of campaign reviews and analysis.
· Ongoing reporting on long-term success measures, such as retention, repeat giving and ROI.
· Invoice reconciliation and processing for timely payment.
· Non-financial KPI trend reporting, such as online conversions, email engagement, opt-out/in rates and quality scoring.

Agile - As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

The Engagement team plays a critical and visible role in the organisation. We lead strategic projects, put engagement into the heart of our campaigns and offer expert advice and analysis to teams across the organisation. This role will work alongside other Marketing Officers who will provide peer support and report into the Marketing & Engagement Manager whom you will work closely with, while also supporting the work and objectives of the wider team. We are cross-organisational in scope so a large part of the role will also be collaborating with different teams such as our production hub, Content & Creative, Campaigns, and Individual & Major Giving teams amongst others.
