Job information:

We are looking for someone with impressive programme management and change management experience, who can lead through others. Someone who is both attentive to detail, and an expert communicator. 

You will lead a team of four experts in project and event management, who support clinicians and specialist advisors to deliver truly impactful programmes, projects and networks, with and for the hospice sector. 

You’ll shape our approach to programme management across the team, developing and embedding ways of working that give our work consistency, quality and meaningful results. 

You will also spearhead the delivery of two new, vital programmes of work - supporting the wellbeing and professional development of the hospice workforce, and improving access to quality hospice care for people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage.

Perhaps you’re working in the charity and/or healthcare sector already, or you might bring senior programme management experience from other fields. 

Either way, you’ll become part of a close, 17-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

We have an opportunity for an Income officer to join our Customer Accounts team in Bristol.

This is a full time permanent role with a mix of customer visits, home and office working.

We are offering a starting salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per year. 

The role:

As an Income Officer you will be working directly with our customers to manage their accounts, provide payment solutions and take appropriate action to recover outstanding debts. 

You'll take a proactive approach to prevent customers from falling in to arrears, negotiating repayment arrangements, monitoring payment plans and working closely with internal teams and external agencies to make sure they receive the right advice and support. 

You'll be on standby to visit customers in their home as well as occasionally preparing paperwork for legal cases and attending court hearings.

About you:

To be an Income Officer at SNG you will need strong communication skills and the ability to advise customers sensitively on financial matters and arrears management.   

You'll have a knowledge of welfare benefits, arrears management, debt recovery processes and income collection. 

You will also need:

• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, managers and external partners 
• A high level of IT literacy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• The ability to manage a caseload effectively
• The ability to be office based and undertake regular customer visits, you'll need access to your own car and a full driving licence

• Provide unwavering support to service users from their initial contact with our service throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
• Implement tailored interventions aimed at reducing the harm caused by opiate use, either through group sessions or one-on-one engagement.
• Ensure service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-focused detoxification plan, including pre-detox preparation and post-care support.
• Collaborate with other organisations and the community to enhance the recovery resources available to service users by referring them to mutual aid groups and other networks.
• Advocate for the involvement of family members, service users, and the community.
• Serve as a voice for service users in accessing partnership services.
• Work closely with service users to facilitate their social (re)integration, enabling them to lead fulfilling and purpose-driven lives. This includes promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

The Deputy Contract Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. Working in partnership with stakeholders, external agencies and our Commissioning Team, you lead your Team to offer high quality support to customers to maintain their tenancies and empower people to live their best lives and move to independence. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Systems Manager to join our team. As Operations and Systems Manager, you will ensure SMK’s operations are well managed, and make sure that we have all the processes, technology and policies needed to operate effectively. We’re looking for someone to take initiative to improve things where needed and bring their experience from elsewhere to the team.   

The Operations and Systems Manager will work closely with the CEO, Board and staff team of 6, and hold the relationships with our external IT, Accounting and HR providers. You will also play a key role within the organisation in shaping culture and supporting staff to carry out their roles to the best of their abilities.

Flexible and Hybrid Working

Our office base is located in central London. You need to be in the office for a minimum of 1 day per week and further Team Days and Board Away Days. Travel and accommodation for working at our London office is at the job-holders own expense. Expenses incurred for SMK business outside London are covered by the charity.

The 15hours per week can be worked flexibly across Monday to Thursday, with a preference for them to include at least part of Monday and Tuesday to accommodate our weekly team meetings (Monday mornings) and Board Meetings which occur quarterly (Tuesday afternoons)..

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our growing and dynamic team. With a new CEO having joined the team in June we are on exciting journey of growth and development with a passion and commitment to fund specialist end of life care across West Northamptonshire.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the finance team and finance volunteers.
• Lead on month-end closing processes and producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
• Lead on year-end closing processes and oversee the audit process liaising with the auditors as required.
• Oversee payroll, cash management and the investment portfolio.
• Prepare VAT returns. Act as the key contact for VAT and ensure robust systems are in place to comply with HMRC requirements.
• Lead on the collaboration with the commercial and income generation departments to ensure accurate processes are in place, to include the sharing of data through manual or automated integration.
• Manage accruals and prepayments.
• Be the main contact for the use of the finance system and lead on resolving any issues.
• Review the Financial Procedures and Policies and update as appropriate. To include regular review of process improvement and risk mitigation.
• Control and update the Restricted Funds log.
• Ensure the finance team comply with accounting principles and company policies.
• Lead organisational contracts with utility and other service providers.
• Key member of the Leadership Team.
• Any other tasks and responsibilities commensurate with the role and needs of the business.

 Person Specification:

• Formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) - essential
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles and practices - essential
• Previous experience of managing a finance team and carrying out performance reviews - essential
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel - essential
• Familiarity with accounting software (ideally Sage) - essential
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills - essential

Student Advisor

The Advice and Wellbeing team at KCLSU are looking for a Student Advisor to deliver high quality and empowering one-to-one advice and support to our student members. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Ensuring that students can access the KCL (and linked institutions) regulations and procedures, equipping them with the information, tools and support that they need to take the decisions that are right for them in their circumstances. 
• Delivering specialist advice through a range of channels, managing a caseload, and keeping accurate case records. 
• Representing individual students at formal and informal University meetings. 
• Identifying policy issues/trends and communicating these to the Advice management team, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of KCLSU Advice and Wellbeing projects.

As a Relief Assistant Shop Manager, you’ll play a vital role in launching our exciting new store in Solihull — bringing leadership, and heart to the team.
