About the role
This is an exciting role under SIA’s Frank Williams academy. The role will manage the development of system-wide evaluation, research and learning (ERL), using data derived internally (our CRM and reporting processes) and externally (including research).
The role will contribute to the goal of the academy - to create the systematic change across our sector. The role will have the opportunity to lead on the development of our ERL framework and future research projects that will deliver positive impact for our members, friends and families of people living with a spinal cord injury and health care professionals.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluation, Report and Learning:
- Develop a charity wide Evaluation, Report and Learning framework.
- Work with teams across the organisation to implement and embed systems, processes, and tools to improve the collection of data and evidence.
- Identify where there are gaps in evidence base and make recommendations.
- Collate data from different areas of the charity and present this in an appropriate format i.e. spreadsheets, dashboards, presentations, or reports (quarterly or annually).
- Analyse and translate impact data that monitors, reports, and demonstrates the impact of our projects and programmes.
- Communicate data requirements with teams and stakeholders from across different areas of the charity.
- Support and develop the credibility of our evaluation, reporting and learning position / framework.
- Lead on our annual ‘What matters’ survey, for our members, producing a high impact report.
Research
- Work with teams across the organisation to identify research programmes that are focused on the needs and priorities of people with a spinal cord injury.
- Work with external stakeholders / third parties, managing relationships to ensure their work meets agreed objectives.
- Translate research into meaningful and actionable recommendations.
- Develop accessible and engaging ways to share findings to our internal and external audiences.
- Establish research opportunities through partnership / stakeholder engagement that supports SIA to deliver evidence that supports our 2030 strategy.
- Represent SIA at conferences or research events where appropriate.

Job Description: Fellowship Programme Assistant – Active Fellows

Objective: The programme assistant provides individualised support to Fellows and facilitates placements/extensions.

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Casework
- Provide support for a caseload of at-risk academics (Cara Fellows) carrying out research placements at UK or international universities
- Assess Fellows’ suitability for academic placements/extensions
- Assess, arrange or signpost additional support for Fellows
- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support for visa processes, travel, etc.
- Write and send official documents to Fellows
- Request relevant invoices and produce documentation needed to make payments
- Attend weekly case meetings with the team
Administration
- Provide support to the drafting of reports to funders
- Present and collect data
- Ensure Fellows have submitted their quarterly reports

Managerial Support
- Contributing to Fellowship Programme policy changes and decision-making

Part 1: Job Profile
a) Main purpose of job
The post will be responsible for identifying and developing new and existing relationships with corporate partners and prospects to fundraise and generate income to assist the team in reaching agreed income targets.
b) Work relationships
The post holder will work closely with and report to the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager and will also work closely with the following:
• Existing Corporate Relationship Managers regarding managing corporate partners and supporting new business proposals.
• Head of Philanthropy and Partnership and the Major Giving Manager to support and maximise philanthropy and corporate trust opportunities.
• Challenge Events Team to deliver and promote a programme of activities that are tailored to the company’s fundraising targets and objectives
• Heads of Care and Lead Nurses regarding hospice visits, and in hospice activities to make sure they are fully up to date on all aspects of our Care services in order to communicate effectively with partners, and when organising volunteer opportunities at the hospices.
• Communication & Marketing Team for support with proposals and presentations, key communications and digital activity
• Community fundraising team when passing over accounts for them to manage and for them to hand over leads
• Wider fundraising team in identifying opportunities to maximise income and other opportunities for SSCH.

• Manage corporate partnerships, and one-off corporate events, ensuring that all opportunities are maximised and where possible more sustainable, longer-term funding is generated
• Managing accurate and effective administration systems, enabling good contact management and financial reporting for the team and updating the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager on a regular basis
• Responsibility for maintaining and developing an accurate database of activities to enable the effective reporting, monitoring and analysis of business relationship management activity and achievements
b) New Business Development – 25%
• Proactively identifying, researching, prioritising and making effective approaches to corporate prospects in relation to the spectrum of Corporate Social Responsibility activities - Charity of the year, sponsorship, donations and volunteering opportunities
• Planning, designing and presenting compelling presentations and proposals with assistance from the Communications & Marketing team for new business approaches and presentations
• Working with the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager and the rest of the corporate team, in preparing the corporate new business pipeline, ensuring an adequate supply of research prospects in their industry sectors are available to meet the team’s income targets. Producing regular contact reports and updates for internal and external tracking of partnership progress
• Keeping accurate records of all correspondence with prospects and contacts on Raiser’s Edge.
• Maintaining and developing an accurate database of activities to enable the effective reporting, monitoring and analysis of New Business activity and achievements.
c) Sponsorship and Partnerships 20%
• Plan proposals to approach existing /new partners to become sponsors of our key events
• Approach companies to obtain gifts in kind to help support the activities across the charity.
d) Strategic Planning – 10%
• Supporting the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager in the fulfilment of the team’s strategy and team objectives
• Working with the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager to plan and implement strategies to secure new corporate support that have a potential value of over £5,000.
e) Cross Team working – 5%
• Working with fundraising colleagues to ensure understanding of account management needs of new corporate partners. This will involve regular meetings and account updates
• Keeping up to date with charity-wide best practice/policies relating to corporate engagement and fundraising activities by networking, attending presentations and peer to peer communications
• Work with all appropriate teams to get all relevant information when putting together applications and presentations
f) Other duties
• The post holder must be able and willing to get to/work in both hospices, Christopher’s in Guildford, and our fundraising base at Shooting Star House in Hampton as required.
• The post holder should be prepared to attend meetings and events on behalf of SSCH in different parts of the country. Some meetings and events may be during evenings or weekends.

We are looking for someone to help us shape public policy in Scotland in a way that ensures everyone can enjoy access to the outdoors. You will help us engage with formal policy making processes, but also with the broader networks through which public policy is informed and shaped. You will become a key member of the small team that drives our public campaigning in Scotland.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Parkstone shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support to Fellows prior to and after their arrival in the UK.
- Coordinate with regional exam centres to facilitate IELTS or equivalent fee waivers for Fellows.

Your role
We are looking to appoint a Retail Shop Cover Manager (internally titled as Retail Divisional Support Manager) covering the North east area and also supporting additional Scope shops in the area within a reasonable commuting distance.
The Retail Divisional Support Manager is a exciting new role working closely with the Divisional Managers to enable our shops to trade when there are vacancies or sickness. The role will play a key role in maintaining and improving the running of our shops day to day and enable us to maximise sales and profit.
For this particular role the Scope shops you will provide shop manager support after training include: Blyth and Ashtington plus additional shops in the area will be considered within a reasonable commuting distance. It is therefore essential that you can travel within this geographical area.

This is a new service and new position within a thriving organisation and requires an experienced leader (BACP, UKCP or BPC accredited). About the role
The London Library is looking for a Reception Supervisor to be responsible for the efficient running of the Library’s Reception ensuring an excellent customer service experience is provided to members of, and visitors to, the Library throughout our opening hours.
The role includes answering questions about membership and services in person, by phone and email, giving tours to prospective members and assisting with membership processing and administration.
This is a brand-new role for the Library, with a potential to grow and develop. It will join our busy Member Services department and will manage our small team of Membership Assistants who cover the main entrance reception desk.

Exceptional visitor experience will be at the forefront of all you do, from creating and delivering a profitable events programme to developing on-brand signage and interpretation for our visitors. You will develop a marketing plan that drives visits to our reserve and manage our popular social media channels to engage and inspire visitors before they arrive.
