Highway House is a charity that has been providing all year round shelter and support services to the homeless for the past 15 years. Our work with the homeless has evolved an adapted from 2009 to date to offer the support most needed at any given time. Summary of role

This post is responsible for ensuring that guests who attend Highway House are in the first instance made welcome. The primary role will be to engage those guests that attend the day centre and guests that are resident in the shelter’s accommodation in developing a pathway of support for them and help them move to the maximum independence they are capable of.  Providing baseline and continuing monitoring of their progress will be required, as will working closely with the project manager.

· Be responsible for receiving guests 2 days a week (7 hours each day) at the day centre

· Initial recording of guests details in database system

· Work with guests to identify their needs

· Research and engage appropriate support for guests

· Develop links with health and welfare agencies to benefit guests

· Support the physical and mental wellbeing of guests

· Visit guests placed in the shelter’s accommodation 1 day a week  (4 hours) to do support work with guests.

· Supervise and inspect state of property and run room checks on weekly visit to the shelter’s accommodation.

• Ensure effective collection of monitoring information, consultation and feedback
• Report regularly to the project manager as and when required board of trustees upon the progress of the project against stated outcomes
• Agree with Manager any actions regarding outcomes
• Ensure all safeguarding issues are dealt with effectively as detailed within our policy

· Work with, support, and build the understanding of volunteers

About the role:

Felstead Street is a CQC registered care home, which has a heavy focus on supporting customers with enduring mental health care and elderly needs. We provide 24hr high support to 24 customers both female and male. Our building is a purpose-built home on two floors, offering customers individual bedrooms and the use of shared communal facilities and gardens. The service is commissioned by East London Foundation Trust with the care contribution from London Borough of Hackney.

As a Support Worker at Felstead Street you will play an integral role in supporting our customers to making their lives interesting and enabling to manage their social, physical and emotional well being. The successful candidate must be able to work some weekends and bank holidays as allocated. This role involves working 5 days a week. Each shift is 8 hours, 8am-4pm or 2.30pm-10.30pm, as allocated on the rota. You must be able to work 9am-5pm for 2 weeks every several weeks as required by the rota.

As a Waking Night Mental Health Support Worker, you will play an integral role as a part of the team by offering the continuity of care and support in every aspect of their needs in line with individual support and risk management plans, such as medication administration, emotional support and regular welfare check, personal care and so on.

The CHWS opened in 2022 with the aim of providing advice, information, and specialist support to Croydon residents with mental health concerns, who drop-in, or have been referred to the via the local Integrated Care Network Plus multi-disciplinary clinical and community mental health support teams.

The Advice Worker will be part of a friendly team, including support workers, crisis workers and clinical mental health professionals and function as the first point of access for visitors to the CHWS. Following an initial conversation to ascertain the clients’ needs, the Advice Worker will provide information and advice, as well as signposting and referrals to specialist services, such as the Mental Health Personal Independence Co-ordinators, Social Prescribers and Community Link Workers, in addition to the wider voluntary and statutory services in the borough. About this key role

Opening in April 2021, Crawley Crisis Café is a partnership between Richmond Fellowship and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT). The café will provide support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and will be open Monday to Friday 5pm – 11pm and Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm. As Peer Support Coordinator your challenge will be to recruit and induct, with the Service Manager, the volunteers.

The volunteers will work alongside Recovery Support Workers and the Community Psychiatric Nurse to ensure positive outcomes for individuals that have come to the crisis café for support. And, when it comes to contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures or attending networking events and community meetings to promote the service, recruiting volunteers and compiling a monthly rota for the volunteers again, we’ll rely on you.

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of the recovery and personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run. You must be able to, liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Queen’s Award winning charity supporting unpaid carers in the London borough of Redbridge.  You will give advice and information to carers and work closely with them to develop person centred support plans.  You will work within a Community Support Team to deliver peer support groups, wellbeing activities, advice surgeries, outreach and events across the borough.

If you have experience of 1-1 support work and of providing advice and information, particularly around welfare benefits, this could be the perfect role for you.  We are looking for someone with an understanding of carers issues and experience of working with people from diverse communities.  This is a varied and demanding role requiring good communication and time management skills and a common sense approach to helping others.  Your skills and experience will make a positive difference to the lives of carers and their families.

This is a part time 21 hour per week post mainly based in Ilford with some community outreach and home working.

Job description 

Working Well is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health, learning disabilities, neurodiversity, and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a full-time and a part time Employment Support Worker for our supported employment team in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. These are permanent roles. The post holder will carry a caseload of clients who may have one or more support needs including:

• Learning Disabilities

• Autism 

• Mental Health

The focus of the role is to support clients to achieve their employment goals, engaging with employers and training providers to secure vocational outcomes in line with client preferences.

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our commitment to supporting people to find the right job for them. Experience working with individuals affected by learning disabilities and autism would be beneficial. The successful candidate must be comfortable in approaching employers, persuading them to use our service, and working with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

You will work closely with referring teams, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led.  You will also be in working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service. 

We are operating a hybrid working model in our Kingston team, with a combination of working from home and in the community with a required 3 days per week spent in our Kingston office.

Job Purpose

Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with the West London NHS Mental Health Teams, operating within the tri-borough area.

The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being. The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include housing, welfare benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the West London NHS Mental Health teams and project volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and Mind's policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

Place of Work

The Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be required to work within the West London NHS Mental Health team offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the service manager
• Deliver monthly wellbeing peer support groups/workshops
• Provide advice and information relating to all welfare benefits, including assisting clients with form filling and contacting agencies such as the Department for Work & Pensions on their behalf
• Provide housing advice
• Link in with specialist debt and money support agencies

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

• Substantial experience of delivering advice in a similar position, preferably to individuals with Mental Health needs
• Knowledge and understanding of Mental Health problems and how they are impacted by social issues
• Experience of delivering advice, information and customer representation
