Head of Parish Operations is a new role created to:

· Provide executive support to our newly recruited vicar and associate vicar

· Ensure the smooth and effective running of the Parish and help put our vision into practice

· Oversee internal and external communications

· Take a leading role in financial record keeping

· Foster a collaborative and supportive culture.

We are looking for someone who has:

· The ability to support the ministry team, and to design and implement administrative systems

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to use other IT resources

We are seeking an experienced and diligent HR Manager to work with staff and volunteers at our established Christian recovery centre in Berkshire. You will provide direction, support and oversight on all aspects of human resources management, including: HR administration; recruitment; staff supervisions and appraisals; compliance with employment regulations; training; performance and talent management; grievance, disciplinary, and capability procedures; salary structure and employee benefits; and organisational personnel planning.

We do not currently have HR software, so reviewing our requirements in this area would be one of your responsibilities.

​As a small charity (c. 43 salaried staff and casual workers, plus volunteers), the role will require balancing practical tasks with management responsibilities. You'll be based in the office (a lovely rural setting near Twyford, Reading) and, being situated within the rehabilitation centre, you will have daily contact with those men whom you are helping. They inspire and motivate us just as much as we seek to encourage and support them.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Brent. Step‑free access is available at our main office. However, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to visit homes and other buildings that do not provide step‑free access

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota which can range between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 10:00 - 18:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and participant requirements. 

About the Role

We're hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our floating support service which is based in Brent. The service supports adults who have been or are at risk of homelessness, have experienced social exclusion, have previous criminal convictions, suffer with their mental health, and substance misuse, and/or could have a learning disability. You will support participants on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence, all within a compassionate, trauma informed environment.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering high quality, person centered support through tailored support plans which provide practical interventions, to empower our participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to support the different needs of our participants, which may include signposting. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support participants will all aspects of their housing needs to support them ensure sustainable housing.
• Co-create tailored support plans which are centred towards the participants needs.
• Signpost participants with local providers to support with their independence such as with Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental health trusts and other as relevant.
• Recognise support needs in an individual and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration.
• Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.

The job

Reporting to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting effective financial decision making across the organisation. The Management Accountant acts as a finance business partner to circa 20 budget holders across a diverse portfolio, including Building and Projects, Philanthropy and Fundraising, and corporate services functions such as Finance and IT.

The role supports stakeholders throughout the annual budget, forecasting and year end reporting cycle, ensuring that financial information is accurate, well understood and actively used to inform decision making. Responsibilities include producing monthly management accounts and commentary, providing financial analysis and insight for senior stakeholders, supporting budgets and forecasts, contributing to year end and audit processes, and delivering operational finance and ad hoc analytical support.

This is a hands on, outward facing role in a fast moving environment, offering broad exposure across a complex organisation.

The person

Candidates will have a proven finance background, ideally in management accounting or business partnering. You will be part-qualified, qualified, or with equivalent experience.

The successful individual will be technically strong, analytical and detail focused, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. They will be confident engaging with non finance colleagues, building trusted relationships, and explaining financial information clearly and pragmatically.

Strong systems skills are required, particularly in Excel, with the ability to interrogate finance systems to extract insight. A flexible mindset, a proactive approach and a desire to continuously improve processes are essential.

As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, reablement, and rehabilitation, providing person centred and trauma informed support in a psychologically informed environment (PIE), to empower residents to achieve their goals and improve their well-being. Here, you’ll support individuals transitioning from complex care or acute mental health services to a structured rehabilitation setting. You will identify their needs, goals and skills, and then support and motivate them to achieve their potential. The service holds a strong focus on public protection and effective risk management.

About The Role
A dementia diagnosis can change many things, but it should never mean losing independence, identity or connection to the things that matter most.
At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe that with the right support, people living with dementia can continue to live meaningful, fulfilling lives in the communities they know and love. As a Dementia Adviser, you will play an important part in making that possible.
This is a role built on conversations, trust and understanding. You might meet someone soon after their diagnosis and help them make sense of what lies ahead. This is a home based role, but much of your time will be spent out in the community across County Durham, meeting people face to face and building relationships with local services. The county is divided into five areas based on the former District Councils and you will mainly support people within one of these areas. Being able to travel independently is essential.

As a Dementia Adviser, you will be a trusted source of guidance and support for people living with dementia and those who care for them. Your work will help people feel more confident, informed and able to make decisions about their lives.

- Support people to work towards their personal goals, whether that is maintaining independence, improving wellbeing or accessing the right services

The team supports our women to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to create a space where they can call home. In this role, you will support in leading the team by providing overall leadership to the service and line management responsibilities to support, enable, and empower your team to deliver high quality support to our residents. Do you want to support the growth of our volunteer-enabled work at Share? We are looking for a passionate person to join us as our new Volunteering and Social Inclusion Project Officer, helping to grow our social inclusion provision.

Share is a registered charity and a centre for training and wellbeing. We provide a range of programmes helping adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs to become happier, healthier and more independent. Our vision is a world where disabled people are fully included in society, living the life they choose, and we need talented people to help us make that happen.

Our Go Anywhere, Do Anything (GADA) project is part of our social inclusion provision at Share. It sees volunteers and students go on regular social outings to do things our students want to do. Our volunteers make this possible, supporting our students to navigate challenges and have fun on the trips. We currently run 36 GADA trips a year but are only scratching the surface of demand. We are looking for someone to support the growth of this project to 65 trips a year.

Main responsibilities

• You’ll work with our students to co-design a programme of GADA trips, as well as sign up students and volunteers to the trips.

• You’ll recruit and train GADA volunteers and support them on trips.

• You’ll organise GADA trips, including risk assessing them, planning how to make them accessible, carrying out administration such as buying tickets, and providing volunteers with the information they need.

• You’ll provide broader volunteer support, helping to deliver inductions for new volunteers, including supporting with interviews, taster days and induction training.

• You will support volunteer check-ins and surveys for all volunteers, including those in non-GADA roles.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have experience of working or volunteering with people who need support, either in your personal or professional life.

• You’ll have experience of coordinating volunteers or projects, preferably in a community setting.

• You can build good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including volunteers, staff, students, families, carers and external venues.

• Most importantly, you share our strong commitment to the inclusion of disabled people in society and believe in equality for all.
