Position: Programme Officer
Reporting to: Senior Programme Manager
Location: Sidcup, Greater London, and hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days remote (subject to change)
Contract Type: Permanent and full-time
Starting Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 gross per annum (based on experience) plus benefits
Purpose
The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with other members of the project delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.
The Programme Officer will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.
Main Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:
Project Support
- Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
- Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
- Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
- Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
- Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
- Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
- Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
- Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management of any potential risks
- Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
- Liaise closely with technical colleagues, Head of team, and Programme Managers / Officers on project support needs.
Project Financial Management
- Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management
- Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts
- Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
- Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools.
Organisational Support and Business Development
- Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
- Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects
- Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
- Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
- Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
- Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
- Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
- Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours
The Programme Officer will require the following combination of applied skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully contribute to team goals:
Required:
- An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject
- Up to 2 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development, research and/or the consultancy sector
- Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
- Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
- Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
- High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Ability to travel internationally when required.
Advantageous:
- 1-2 years direct project management experience
- Proficiency in additional languages, especially Arabic or French.

Role overview
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (35 hours a week). Working part-time (minimum 21 hours a week) or job-sharing will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.
Salary: Starting at £31,294 FTE with potential annual step increases up to £35,086 (pro rata if working part-time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.
Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. Annual Leave: Initially 25 days per year. After two years of employment, this will increase by one day per year up to a maximum of 28 days (pro rata if working part-time).

Just Like Us (JLU) is the UK’s LGBT+ young people’s charity, empowering 18–25-year-olds to share their experiences in schools and improve LGBT+ inclusion through peer-led talks and ambassador programmes.
This joint role represents an exciting partnership between two organisations committed to racial justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion and systemic transformation.
1. Just Like Us (3.5 days/week): To support the delivery of Just Like Us’ Ambassador and School Talks programmes – including recruitment, training and coordination of young LGBT+ volunteers and engaging with schools to foster inclusive environments.
2. Black Queer & Thriving: There is potential for this role to expand in scope (up to 1.5 additional days per week), subject to funding. Should this occur, the role may include additional responsibilities in line with the aims of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group and Southwark engagement priorities. Duties and Responsibilities

About the team
This is a very exciting time to be joining Impetus as we aim to support more young people this year than ever before in our history. The Philanthropy team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. Purpose of the Role
To coordinate Imkaan’s engagement with parliamentary spaces, campaigns, and influencing work. The postholder will support the organisation’s advocacy strategies, develop political communications, and strengthen relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and the media to further the rights and recognition of Black and Minoritised women and girls affected by violence.
The Parliamentary and Campaigns Coordinator will lead Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement and campaigning activity, ensuring the voices and experiences of Black and Minoritised women and girls are heard at the highest levels of decision-making.
You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. You will also work closely with Imkaan’s members to support grassroots mobilisation and bring frontline voices into national conversations.
This is a strategic and creative role for someone with strong political instincts, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to justice for Black and Minoritised women and girls.
Key Responsibilities
1) Campaign Strategy and Development

Support the design and delivery of evidence-based campaigns aligned with Imkaan’s strategic priorities.

Work with internal teams to craft campaign messages informed by research and sector data.

Develop and deliver campaigns that highlight the lived experiences and rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls

Work with the Communications Coordinator to create campaign messaging and digital content aligned with Imkaan’s values. Support the mobilisation of members and allies around key policy moments (e.g. consultations, votes, legislation)

Monitor impact of campaigns and contribute to cross-organisational reflection and learning.

Contribute to cross-organisational policy influencing strategy and calendar

Track political developments, maintain contact records and parliamentary timelines

Ensure alignment between parliamentary work and Imkaan’s wider research, policy, and membership activity.

Support the Policy and Research Manager and Executive Director with high-level influencing opportunities and responses.
2) Policy and Parliamentary Engagement

Monitor UK parliamentary activity, including debates, inquiries, and relevant policy developments.

Prepare briefings, reports, and policy responses for government and parliamentary audiences.

Coordinate engagement with central/local government and VAWG coalitions.

Build and maintain relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary researchers, and civil servants

Track and respond to relevant legislation, debates, select committee work, and inquiries.

Coordinate Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement strategy, including briefings, evidence submissions, and event planning

Prepare Imkaan representatives and members for parliamentary meetings and public speaking engagements

Support high-impact events, including parliamentary roundtables, receptions, and cross-sector briefings.

Draft political content, including statements, open letters, and responses to emerging issues.

Support the leadership team and Board with communications materials, media briefings, and stakeholder messaging.

3) Membership and Sector Outreach

Disseminate Imkaan’s work and campaigns across the membership and wider VAWG sector.

Represent member interests within campaigns and coordinate cross-sector advocacy.

Support members to engage in political and public campaigning, including training, resources, and shared actions

Ensure campaigns reflect the priorities of frontline organisations and are shaped through regular consultation

Work collaboratively with partners and allies across the women’s, anti-racist, and human rights sectors.

Evaluate campaign activities against strategic objectives and funder requirements.

Contribute to planning documents, project reports, and performance tracking systems.
Person Specification
Essential Experience

You'll play a vital role in developing work experience opportunities for adults with learning disabilities as well as supporting our team members into permanent employment. This is a new role which will require you to show heaps of flexibility and learn-as-we-go in order to shape and develop our impact into the future.
If you have pints of personality and want to work for a fantastic cause, we want to hear from you. You’ll be experienced in coaching or mentoring, be well organised and understand the barriers faced by people with a learning disability when moving into employment.
You'll support and develop our team. This means:
- managing a caseload of between 6 and 10 people who are neurodivergent and/or have a learning disability, and who are looking to move into supportive employment locally
- preparing our team members for long-term employment by supporting them to understand their skills, aspirations and goals by offering employment profiling, job matching, action planning and skill development opportunities
- working to a minimum target of 2 adults moving into long term employment by the end of your contract
- undertaking monthly work coaching sessions for team members to develop and upskill them in brewing and bar management skills
- supporting team members to reduce work-related barriers such as travel-to-work, better-off calculations, disclosure of health & wellbeing needs and budgeting
- providing in-work support to assist team members in maintaining and retaining employment, including frequent in-person meetings during the first few months of a successful employment match

Job Title: Children and Family Worker
Location: Based on site in West London (This location is hidden due to the sensitive nature of the service) Unfortunately this service does not have step free access.
Salary: £27,007.50
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota Monday to Friday between 07:30 - 15:30, 09:00 - 17:00 and 11:30 - 19:30 with occasional Saturdays, at least one Saturday every 3 months between 09:00 - 17:00.
About the role
Are you passionate about providing safe and stable accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse? Wanting to help make a difference and provide specialist support to them to gain greater independence? This might be the role for you.
As a Children and Family worker, you will be based within our Women's Refuge service, supporting women and children up to the age of 15 who have escaped domestic abuse. You will deliver trauma-informed, child and family centred support to promote safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with mothers to strengthen the parent-child relationship during a time of crisis. You will support with both emotional and practical day-to-day support. This is typically done through key work sessions, risk assessments, and empowerment focused activities.
You will play a vital role in supporting families, being the sole specialist within the service, which gives you autonomy to shape the role based on your expertise and experience. You will lead on child-focused support, as well as working part of the wider team to provide the support to mothers. You will deliver a range of support for children and young people, as well as family and parenting support.
About you
We are looking for someone who has a real passion to support families and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You will have a trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on families, and will be able to engage in sensitive conversations, recognising signs on trauma, and being proactive to support families to overcome this. This is a hands-on, active role, ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, and passionate about working directly with families. You will be a team player, able to collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed.
- A background in working with adults and children, particularly from trauma affected backgrounds
- Experience in supporting mothers in helping children transition to new schools
- Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging play sessions, after school activities, and family events as well as religious and national celebrations
- Confidence in working with children who may have behavioural challenges, being able to signpost to early intervention services
- Experience/ability to support children with special educational needs or additional behavioural needs
- Ability to work in a fast changing environment
