We need you to accelerate our impact by driving the translation of early diagnosis, treatment and innovation evidence into policy and practice, through planning, delivery and oversight of a comprehensive, proactive content and comms plan across a range of health professional and health system audiences and channels.

What will I be doing?

• Driving the development of our early diagnosis, treatment and innovation content and resources for a range of health professional and health system audiences, making the most of what we know and have and ensuring key messages are reaching our audiences and having an impact

• Developing and overseeing the delivery of an internal and external content plan, profiling Cancer Research UK's thought leadership across different areas of the cancer pathway and facilitating the translation of evidence into policy and practice

• Building strong relationships with key content, audience and communications teams in both the development and delivery of the plan

• Maintaining oversight of resource development, such as those aimed at health professionals, and ensuring a strategically-relevant and impactful portfolio of content and resources

• Liaising with evidence and health system engagement teams to identify and drive opportunities to support health systems audiences across the cancer pathway, bringing creativity, insight and positivity to the task

• Leading on the review and design transformation of our existing health professional webpages

• Managing communications on behalf of the Strategic Evidence team to key audiences, both internally and externally

• Contributing to content sign-off with a focus on impact, accessibility, tone of voice and design

• Developing and managing direct reports, including setting clear development objectives and appraising performance.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bid Writing and Management

• Lead in all elements of the bidding process which includes writing competitive bids within strict deadlines.
• Identify, research, and communicate opportunities and needs across the organisation, working proactively with colleagues at all levels to identify fundable initiatives.
• Host internal and external briefings and liaise with relevant teams to develop compelling bids which are fit for purpose, realistic, and aligned with organisational needs and aims.

• Represent Social Interest Group and our subsidiaries in market engagement and events online and in-person and support with all aspects of enhancing and developing our brand.

Organisational Growth

• Identify priorities from strategy and business plans, translating growth plans into effective practices aligned to SIG’s mission, vision, and values.
• Collect and share information relevant to teams involved in Mobilisations and TUPE’s for won bids. Ensure communication is clear, and concise, providing a logical strategy and direction to follow to ensure a smooth transition for new contracts.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this includes a track record of securing new bids and/or retaining existing contracts
• Previous experience in bid/proposal writing, reviewing, and editing
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, experience in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel and attend market engagement events and to visit services to gain greater understanding of what SIG offers and to inform teams of relevant tender responses
• Ability to create and write engaging content, with proofreading skills
• Proven ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral and ability to build relationships
• Ability to review large amounts of information and research materials to inform model development and shape tender responses
• Proficiency in navigating tender portals

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience managing the full bidding process end to end from pre market engagement and contract notification, through to award
• Previous experience working in the same or similar sector

The Regional Manager (RM) roles are responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, which includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, general oversight of mentoring relationships in different programmes, implementation of safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM RM’s main tasks include:

• Help 1MM to scale by establishing over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meet all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximise conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Ongoing support for key stakeholder partners; Youth Partners (e.g. schools, colleges etc), or Employers. And maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Become familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions:

This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

Our mission is to support people who have survived or witnessed torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance. This is a key role in ensuring we have the resources to continue providing vital support to survivors of torture and human rights violations. Person specification

Qualifications and experience

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional environment dealing with external partners
• Proven ability to build relationships with a focus on fundraising
• Experience of generating income through partnerships, with an ability to innovate and maximise fundraising from corporate opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to confidently present to stakeholders in person or online
• Ability to build excellent relationships and a confidence in networking and public speaking
• Experience of multiple tactics to secure meetings and develop relationships with prospects including, but not limited to, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social media

• Develop and implement quality improvement process for institutional policies and project delivery to keep Inter Mediate ethical, efficient and delivering value for money.
• Source, manage and review all professional services and suppliers engaged by Inter Mediate including banking, legal advice, accounting and auditing.

B) Human Resources and Office Operations

• Oversee Inter Mediate’s recruitment process and work with the Deputy CEO to ensure that we have fair procedures for benefits, training, probation, diversity and inclusion, gender pay gap, safeguarding, grievance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee the contracting and on-boarding for new staff, consultants and trustees.
• Manage day-to-day HR functions and queries, including leave recording systems.
• Conduct staff remuneration and salary benchmarking exercises with the Deputy CEO.
• Update and maintain the employment handbook policies and procedures.
• Oversee office operations, equipment and facilities management.

C) IT, Security and Risk Management

• Ensure that the IT and communications systems are optimally configured for effectiveness and security, and that staff can operate them as necessary.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has robust risk mitigation systems and training for staff.
• Ensure Risk Assessments and security plans are completed by staff prior to staff travel.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has a viable business continuity plan.
• Maintain and review the Risk Register for the organisation with the Deputy CEO.

D) Financial Management (with the Finance Director)

• Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure that operational and financial planning processes and decisions are mutually informed and fully aligned.
• Strategise with the Finance Director and Deputy CEO to ensure all wings of the organisation work together to advance the best interest of the institution, its staff, projects and donors.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

• At least 8 years experience leading charity operations at a senior level spanning institutional compliance, Human Resources, IT, security and project support services, ideally in the non-profit sector.
• Track record of excellent business decisions for institutions under UK charity law operating in an international, multi-donor environment.
• Extensive experience of supporting Boards and Board committees at a senior level in a non-profit context.
• Some knowledge of project support mechanisms required for smooth delivery of peacebuilding, humanitarian, human rights or political projects in high-risk environments.

• Evidence of ability to both lead and service a complex network of external relationships.

• Graduate with a relevant degree and, preferably with relevant post graduate qualifications or relevant experience.

Working at Inter Mediate

A normal working week consists of 35 hours (or pro rata for part-time). Our office operates between 8am and 6.30pm with core hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Inter Mediate operates a hybrid working model, with at least 2 set days per week in the office in London.

We are currently at the beginning of an exciting and ambitious program to transform our organisations Digital, Data and Technology - becoming a trusted partner for colleagues in the organisation. 

In the last year we have implemented a new CRM platform based on Salesforce and Azure platforms while continuing to adapt to modern ways of working post pandemic that have changed how our physical locations are best utilised.

As Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting our current physical network hardware and solutions while we look to adopt a cloud first approach moving away from our current dependency on physical locations and legacy services. 

You'll work closely with the wider technology team on the development of our office infrastructure as we look to expand our current use of Meraki solutions to support us in providing office services to several charity partners alongside Save the Children UK.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for: 

• Monitoring our office and server platforms network connectivity to ensure availability, uptime, and responsive systems for the organisation using tools such as WhatsUpGold and Meraki portals and Azure monitor
• Maintaining our server platforms network connectivity, whether on premises, in private cloud or public cloud
• Maintaining and developing our physical office locations connectivity for end users and tenants alongside our Facilities team
• Working with our partners to maintain our WAN and cloud connectivity
• Helping implement solutions that are secure and follow Zero trust principles
• Maintaining current technologies such as Fortigate firewalls
• Implementing new technologies such as Zscaler and Azure Firewall
• Providing connectivity solutions that meet business requirements
• Documenting current and future solutions to ensure accountability and to promote Team and Organisation understanding of technologies.

About you

You'll have a track record of delivering solutions/platforms that empower organisations and understand how networks and connectivity provide the backbone of solutions and how critical infrastructure is to delivering business services.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant experience in a hands-on role delivering enterprise class networking – switching, routing and Wifi
