Communicating with founders

• Acting as the main point of contact for entrepreneurs on a cohort, ensuring they all have the information they need to get the most out of programmes
• Communicating with founders individually and as a cohort including via phone, email, zoom
• Leading on administrative matters, including calendar invitations, permissions, photographs, and communications 

Programme delivery and support

• Ensuring that workshops, events, and sessions run smoothly and deliver a great experience for everyone involved 
• Providing technological support with tools including Zoom breakout rooms, Circle etc.
• Producing materials to support founders’ learning, including PDFs, slides, and spreadsheets
• Supporting the programme manager with the recruitment of founders which sometimes includes; Interviewing, shortlisting, and selection during recruitment cycles. 

Working with external freelancers and volunteers

• Briefing and training skilled volunteers, experts and facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery of support sessions
• Coordinating 1:1 support for founders with skilled volunteers/experts on the programmes
• Ensuring the right contracts with founders, facilitators and expert speakers are in place
• Helping maintain our database of expert speakers, freelancers and volunteers
• Identifying and onboarding new freelancers and volunteers by networking, researching, and attending external events
• Keeping track of and processing invoices from freelancers

Monitoring and evaluation

• Gathering feedback from entrepreneurs and sharing insights and areas of improvement
• Interviewing founders and creating case studies from their written and verbal feedback
• Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team to share stories from our founders on our social channels

Systems and Administration

• Maintaining KPI tracking system to record event attendees, feedback and learning outcomes through our work management system Monday

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee the delivery of our Regular Giving programmes and will also manage relationships with high-level donors to identify and securing major gifts.

• Drive acquisition, retention and growth of Individual Giving at all levels with a particular view to growing unrestricted income from this stream.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

The Director of People and Culture leads on fostering a positive work environment in order to help develop a strong organisational culture, providing high quality leadership and oversight on the development and delivery of Girls Not Brides’ People and Culture strategy. The post holder facilitates an organisational culture that supports an ambitious and diverse workforce that demonstrates clear commitment to Girls Not Brides values, mission, and vision, drawing up our principles around collaboration and partnership.

As a people and culture senior level professional, you will have an evidential understanding of all aspects of HR practices, both UK and International. This is a pivotal role supporting the transformation of Girls Not Brides, leading the delivery of a workforce strategy that ensures we have a stable, sustainable, skilled, dynamic, and diverse workforce capable of delivering the goals of the organisation. You will be someone who can balance creativity with pragmatism, and expertise with a desire to learn, and a demonstrable alignment with our commitment to championing well-being, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The role contributes to and plays a critical role in broad organisational leadership and strategic development, partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision-making.

Salary range
£70,560 (subject to benchmarking) rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

Contract
This is a full-time two-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of applying, and for the full duration of the two-year initial contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning and Organisational Leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides’ people and culture strategies to deliver on the vision, mission and goals set out in the Secretariat and Partnership strategies, 2022-2025.
• Lead the creation of an inclusive organisational culture, values, plans, and HR policies that are rooted in and informed by a deep commitment to the values of Girls Not Brides and to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
• Contribute to broad organisational leadership and strategic development, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
• Advise and inform the CEO, Board and SLT colleagues on strategic issues relating to Human Resources, People management and organisational culture.
• Responsible for planning and monitoring the directorate’s budget.

Talent Acquisition

• Lead the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides’ people management and acquisition strategies to deliver on the vision.
• Oversee the development of strategies to identify talent; establish and oversee equitable and inclusive recruitment and hiring processes for all employees.
• Oversee the development of a comprehensive onboarding and staff orientation strategy.
• Oversee offboarding of staff, including exit interviews; analyse data to surface potential cultural issues or other staff concerns; make recommendations to the SLT for continuous improvements.
• Support line managers to proactively identify new leaders and build opportunities for growth.

Staff Well-Being

• Lead on the development and implementation of a staff well-being policy and oversee the effective use of processes for day-to-day provision across the organisation.
• Oversee development and implementation of programmes, initiatives, and ideas to enhance and maintain staff well-being across the organisation.
• To provide leadership, direction and co-ordination for the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and staff support services, including occupational health.

Organisational Culture

• Oversee the review and implementation of organisational core values that guide the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Role:                 Fundraising Database Manager

Location:            The Haberdashers' Schools, Elstree, Hertfordshire but with hybrid work

This is an exciting time for Haberdashers’ Girls’ School and Haberdashers’ Boys’ School. While they remain largely autonomous institutions with their own cultures and traditions, they are undertaking ambitious joint fundraising and alumni relations activities for the first time in their histories. This effort is led by a small but dynamic development & alumni relations team working across both schools.

Overview

The Fundraising Database Manager plays a key role within the team, with overall responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Raiser's Edge donor/alumni database, gift processing and alumni networking platforms across both schools. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the data and ensuring it is up to date, optimising the database for fundraising appeals, generating reports and queries, providing professional support and training to users, processing all gifts and claiming Gift Aid. The database manager is also responsible for ensuring the department complies with all relevant data protection regulations

You are a motivated and highly organised self-starter, with a knack for methodical problem-solving, enthusiasm for the potential of data to drive effective fundraising and alumni relations, and a meticulous attention to detail. Beyond optimising and managing the database, you will also take the lead in implementing new financial and operational procedures which will make our fundraising and alumni relations work more efficient and effective, and which will be easy for less tech-minded team members to adopt and sustain.

You are comfortable extracting, interrogating and reporting on data to help inform strategy, always looking for ways to use and improve your skills and experience to make an impact. You will have a sophisticated understanding of how to export, import and (where warranted) merge multiple datasets. Finally, you never forget that behind the data are real people, and that ensuring the integrity, accuracy and protection of their data is vitally important, both for them and for the schools.

Location: Borehamwood, 15 miles northwest of central London. A flexible work schedule, including a mix of remote and on-site working, will be possible for the right candidate.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

Respond is entering the last year of our three-year strategy, in which we will continue to be focusing on our psychotherapy service, which is a core part of Respond’s offer as a charity for now thirty-four years.   Our mission is to reduce the impact of trauma in the lives of people with learning disabilities and autistic people, by developing trusting relationships, through psychotherapeutically informed services which include advocacy, training and consultation.

About the Role​

RUSI’s Terrorism and Conflict team is looking to recruit an expert in the field of terrorism to provide maternity cover for the research group starting from July. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can generate funding and lead the team’s diverse work portfolio, while reporting directly to RUSI’s Deputy Director‑General.

We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in developing funded research projects in the following areas:

• The intersection between violent extremism and conflict including integrated P/CVE responses.
• State threats and social extremism including misinformation and disinformation.
• International terrorism related to jihadi groups, the transnational far right and other relevant groups, networks and movements.

These areas will complement the team’s existing portfolio of work on CT and P/CVE, which includes research, policy advice, training and implementation. We work in the UK, Europe and a number of global ‘hotspots,’ including East and West Africa, Central and South Asia and the Balkans. We also run an active training programme on CT and CVE for diplomatic, development and civil society representatives.​

Our team encompasses 12 staff in London, Brussels and Nairobi and we work closely with an extensive range of consultants and associate fellows from the academic, diplomatic, development and practitioner worlds in the UK and internationally.

RUSI wishes to appoint an acting Research Director on a one-year fixed term contract to provide maternity cover for the Terrorism and Conflict Research Group. This could lead to a permanent research position if funding in the areas outlined above is secured during the year.

The role offers an exceptional opportunity for an individual with at least ten years of experience in the field of terrorism as a researcher, policymaker or practitioner. It is essential that the successful candidate has a strong track record of business development and of securing significant funding. The role involves significant management responsibility including oversight of RUSI’s office in Nairobi and management of T&C’s team in RUSI Europe. 1. 4. Conducting research on terrorism and counter-terrorism: conducting primary and secondary research on terrorism for a range of customers/clients in the UK and overseas; writing and communicating research outputs (published papers, analytical reports, commentaries, conference papers, presentations etc.); editing, supervising and quality control of the outputs of other researchers (within RUSI and/or partner organisations); projecting RUSI’s research in academia, government, industry, and in the media (print, broadcast, social media).
    
5. Project management: ensuring that research projects are run effectively and efficiently and achieve their desired outcomes; conducting project risk assessments; liaising with beneficiaries, partners and funders; supervising the organisation of events and publications.

You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. 

This will be a high-profile role within the executive team of a nationally significant social enterprise that is at the leading edge of urban community energy, with significant ambitions for scale and impact. You will work alongside the Executive Team with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan. 

Community Retrofit is a place-based approach to decarbonisation and community development, that creates low-carbon infrastructure, which is technically integrated at a local level, and provides direct benefits to local communities, for example through community ownership, affordable energy supply, or high-quality jobs.

You will be responsible for leading the Community Retrofit team. The team currently encompasses seven staff working across domestic and non-domestic:

• Rooftop solar installations

• Communal heat networks 

• Retrofit assessment and coordination 

• Data collection and analysis

Rooftop solar is the most established asset type deployed by Repowering, with installations dating to 2013. Retrofit assessment and coordination services started in 2023, and communal heat network investments are expected in 2025.

You will be responsible for ensuring high quality installations of low carbon assets that perform as forecast.

You will lead the development of improvements to our processes for evaluating potential sites and deploying and maintaining low carbon assets and retrofit measures. 

The role will require ongoing refinement of Repowering’s community retrofit offer to community groups, building owners and public bodies such as Local Authorities, and support the growth of long-term partnerships with our stakeholders, including supply chain partners.

In particular, working with the Repowering executive team you will support the incubation of a suite of a finance offers that allow a wider range of households, businesses and communities to participate in community retrofit. 

You will also support Repowering’s work to increase employment opportunities for young people in the low carbon sector, through how we structure our procurement for installations and by the training programmes we run in-house and with partners.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. You will work within the Science & Regulatory Affairs team to deliver the organisation’s objectives relating to the ending of testing on animals, with a focus on regulatory testing in the chemical and consumer product sectors. Your role will mostly address regulatory testing on animals in Europe, some activities will also be relevant to the UK, and some will be internationally relevant.

• Regularly developing and presenting clear insight and analysis on market activity, responsibilities, and opportunities.
• Work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications and New Business Development Manager to devise and deliver targeted new business campaigns and activities.
• Work closely with the Retained Business Development Manager to devise and deliver strategies to retain and grow our centres.
• Work with the Business Development Coordinator to ensure engagement processes and the customer journey meet the needs of centres efficiently.
• Maintain a working knowledge and up to date awareness of the sectors, market audiences and landscape the Leadership Skills Foundation works with.

Head of (HOD) Responsibilities

• Implement the one company/vision/culture and demonstrate its impact.
• To carry out environmental scanning to recognize opportunities and challenges and formulate appropriate actions to position the Foundation in line with its agreed objectives.
• To implement and develop appropriate business management capabilities and practices across the organisation.
• To operationally implement the strategy and set work expectations as agreed by the Board and the SLT.

Skills, experience and knowledge 

• An understanding of education systems in the UK 
• Previous experience in a sales environment and understanding sales processes. 
• Experience of managing pipeline systems
• A proven track record of delivering income growth 
• Analytical thinking and evaluation skills
• Ability to present information concisely using Microsoft Office programmes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Leadership capabilities

Desirable 

• Previous experience of managing a sales team and managing direct reports
• An understanding of awarding bodies and their operating landscape 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI
