About the role

We are seeking a Healthcare Evaluation Lead for Northern Ireland, a pivotal role that will influence meaningful and lasting change across health and social care services.​

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of epilepsy care across the region by evaluating current systems and identifying the gaps and inequalities for people living with epilepsy. Using the feedback of the network of healthcare professionals and people with lived experience, you will produce an evidence-based report that will provide the priority areas of focus for Epilepsy Action’s future work across Northern Ireland.​

In this role, you will directly contribute to delivering our strategic ambitions in Northern Ireland and help shape future service improvements across the region. Your work will directly influence health outcomes and help reduce inequalities for people affected by epilepsy.

What You Will Do

As the Healthcare Evaluation Lead, you will:​

• Map and evaluate existing epilepsy services across Northern Ireland.
• Identify gaps, inequalities, and workforce challenges in service provision.
• Build trusted relationships with clinicians, specialist nurses, GPs, commissioners, voluntary organisations, political allies and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate interviews, roundtables and consultations to capture service insights.
• Produce a high-quality written report with recommendations for the areas of work that Epilepsy Action can have a demonstrable impact on.​

This is an end‑to‑end project leadership role, involving research, data analysis, partnership working, networking and project management.

Is This You?

We're looking for someone with a passion for people and a drive to make a difference. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Strong understanding of the Northern Ireland health system (HSC) and its landscape.
• Familiarity with NICE guidance for epilepsy and awareness of health inequalities.
• Experience in project leadership or project management.
• Ability to work inclusively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in healthcare, public health, or health policy settings.
• Experience conducting service reviews, system mapping, or health needs assessments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
• Political awareness and diplomacy relevant to Northern Ireland’s context.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret health data.
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior clinicians and system leaders.

Who are we?

St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. We have a team built up of support workers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, PBS practitioners, assistant psychologists, and more, to support us in our holistic approach to development.

Each learner's curriculum is shaped by their individual strengths, interests, and challenges. St. John's is awarded with Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society (NAS). We support our learners to develop their skills in the NAS's four focus areas of:

• Self-reliance and problem-solving
• Sensory

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Housing Manager you will:

· Play a key role in shaping an exceptional housing management service to deliver a truly customer-focused experience

· Line manage a team of Housing Officers, leading and coaching them to deliver a responsive and proactive service.

· Work closely alongside your Housing Manager counterpart to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

· Take ownership of core performance areas — including lettings, tenancy management, communal space standards, rental income and service charge delivery — ensuring a consistently high standard across all functions.

· Ensure CHS proactively responds to anti-social behaviour, harassment and domestic abuse cases in a responsive and supportive manner, working positively with partner agencies and building on external partnerships.

Hybrid Working Arrangements – the majority of the working week will be office-based with the housing team in Histon, particularly in the first six months (probation period).

Thereafter it may be possible to apply for a higher proportion of hybrid working, with the needs of the team and service delivery being the prime consideration.

What you’ll need to succeed

· Experience in line managing or supporting staff highly desirable, with a natural ability to lead and motivate others

· A minimum of two years’ experience delivering and managing a housing service within a social housing environment.

· A Chartered Institute of Housing qualification or relevant management qualification is desirable but not essential, demonstrating your commitment to professional development.

· Strong, up-to-date knowledge of social housing legislation, welfare benefits, housing policy and the wider social issues affecting our customers.

· Naturally confident and customer‑focused, you bring excellent communication, relationship‑building and influencing skills to every interaction.

· Experience of using housing management IT systems and Microsoft Packages and strong numeracy skills.

· A full UK driving licence, use of a car for work purposes and business insurance.
