Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them.

As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

You will work with the team to influence change by delivering creative communications activity and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve working closely with our Impact and Influencing Lead as well as our colleagues in practice, participation and engagement, so that you can learn from those with lived experience and ensure their voices are at the forefront.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to deliver creative communications to influence change. You also should have a real desire to create positive change in the services and systems that affect the lives of women who have had children removed from their care.

We are looking for a compassionate and committed Youth Support and Project Officer to join our SANEline Services team with a dedicated focus on supporting young people affected by mental health.

Overview of the Team  

The Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks. The finance team manages budgets, financial planning, and reporting. All of this contributes to effective decision making. Place of Work

This is a home-based role, open to candidates based in the UK. The successful candidate will work remotely as part of Ten Ten’s home-based team.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) are one of the main partners for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, delivering activities which connect people and greenspace. The successful applicant will work with the London Borough of Waltham Forest representatives, Friends of Parks groups and local people, with the aims of improving nature conservation, health and wellbeing, through social engagement, gentle exercise and connectivity with the outdoors.

TCV are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and experienced person to join our London Health & Education team for this important post. The Project Officer will lead the delivery of three key areas of work in the borough:

1. TCV's Green Gyms - Lead the delivery of weekly nature conservation volunteering sessions for people (with a wide range of abilities), through the TCV Green Gyms at Leyton Jubilee Park (Thursdays) & Lloyd Park (Fridays). The post holder will actively seek new volunteers to attend the TCV Green Gyms, through continual engagement with local social prescribing partners, social media promotion & local advertising of activities. They will also continually recruit and train volunteers to ensure they have the maximum opportunity to develop their skills and experience.
2. Friends of Park support - Support the capacity building & training of the Friends of Parks groups across the borough, which may include anything from organising an external first aid trainer to deliver an event, to you organising & leading a workshop on how to create & manage a wildflower meadow or working to support them on a practical activity. You'll keep the local Friends of Parks group webpages up to date with advertising forthcoming events & updating member's contact details & producing newsletters.
3. Wider events & activities - The post holder will be expected to lead and/or support the delivery of wider activities as required, such as regular family events at Abbott's Park & large family events Love Parks week (currently 8 events during summer months). The Project Officer would also lead corporate volunteering days, likely to take place at the Meridian One Community Garden & Tree Nursery in Enfield.

The post holder will mainly deliver core activities independently, although they'll work closely with the existing colleagues in Waltham Forest, to ensure local people receive the best possible experience. They'll be occasions when there's a need to work extra hours, including evenings & weekends, such as during Love Parks week, which takes place each July & during family events at the community garden (approximately 6 weekend days a year).

The post is full-time for 35 hours per week. The Project Officer will be based in TCV's community garden in Upper Edmonton, Enfield. The community garden has an office from which the post holder will be expected to be based 3 days a week, in order to administer this project. Please note that this is a new role at Save the Rhino, which offers the chance to help raise vital funds for rhino conservation efforts in Africa and Asia. The Grants Officer will report to the Grants Manager, who in turn reports to the Grants Lead.

Raising funds for specific rhino conservation field programmes and projects in Africa and Asia is a key part of Save the Rhino’s work. In the financial year 2024-25, c. £2.6m in grants were made in response to donor-funded proposals that were drafted by the grants team. Producing good proposals and credible budgets depends on close liaison with Save the Rhino’s partners in the field to understand the issues that need to be addressed and the proposed approaches to tackle them. Receiving repeat grants from donors depends on consistently providing high-quality, relevant and timely reports that analyse the impact of the grants, as well as developing relationships with the donors built on mutual trust and understanding.

As part of Save the Rhino’s grants management team, the Grants Officer will benefit from the opportunity to learn about rhino conservation in the field, and best practice fundraising. The primary focus of the role will be to support the Conservation and Fundraising teams by drafting narrative and financial reports on grants from individuals, companies, grant-making trusts and foundations, zoos, and governments. In addition, the Grants Officer will also participate in internal and external discussions about project design, monitoring and evaluating impact, and help provide content for Save the Rhino’s website, print, and social media.

4. Key responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Grants Officer are to support the Grants Manager and Grants Lead, including:

Programme-facing

• In discussion with field programme partners, help develop project proposals and budgets that can be pitched to potential funders
• Set up report templates for grant recipients to complete
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating grant impact
• Support Save the Rhino’s annual risk assessment process, which involves due diligence of the recipients of our grants

Donor-facing

• Thank the donors of donations for specific programmes or projects of less than £1,000 made to Save the Rhino
• Adapt quarterly / biannual / annual grant reports from field programmes or projects, produced by the Grants Manager and/or Grants Lead, and tailor them to each donor’s requirements
• Manage grants from funds raised by the ForRangers initiative, including liaison with the ForRangers Advisory Board, and communicating the impact of those grants to participants in the annual ForRangers Ultra marathon
• Respond to donors’ requests for images, information, rhino facts etc. on request

Internal

• Participate in and minute weekly meetings to discuss news and priority needs from our partners in the field, grant management and reporting, grant application opportunities, communications opportunities etc.
• Provide compelling copy and images for Save the Rhino’s Communications team to produce content highlighting rhino conservation progress and the impact of donors’ grants
• Ensure all supporter and partner activity is accurately recorded in Save the Rhino’s database (Salesforce) and used effectively for relationship management
• Manage administrative tasks, including creating invoices, and tracking income and expenditure against the budget
• Uphold General Data Protection Regulation, data protection, and fundraising best practice to ensure that Save the Rhino’s fundraising is ethical, inclusive and legally compliant

General

• Participate in organisational monitoring, evaluation and learning processes
• Contribute to achieving organisational financial targets and return on investment
• Support the team with ad hoc event logistics, including, but not limited to, evening cultivation events, London Marathon, etc.
• Contribute to building broader team culture
• Other tasks as needed and consistent with role

Essential skills / experience:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, high attention to detail and fluency in English
• Experience of writing reports and communicating effectively with a range of external audiences
• Strong excel skills
• Excellent time-management and ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines in a busy team
• Ability to be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and self-confident, working both independently and as part of a team
• A degree in conservation / biology / zoology or related field

Desirable skills / experience:

• Experience of working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and/or in different countries
• Knowledge and understanding of African and Asian rhino conservation
• Experience and success in applying for and managing grants from individuals and grant-making organisations
• Experience with fundraising / customer-relationship management databases

Executive Officer: Ministerial Oversight

The Methodist Church is seeking an Executive Officer to support the processes relating to ministerial oversight. Working alongside the Ministerial Coordinator for the Oversight of Ordained Ministries, you will be providing executive support to the candidating processes, the Ministerial Candidates and Probationers Oversight Committee, the Ministers of other Conferences and Churches programme and arranging for ordination services. Memory Tree cafes combine music and singing, dancing, reminiscence, exercise, activity and social interaction providing a safe and relaxing environment for older people living with dementia and their carers.

Our programmes are delivered in various settings across the borough including care homes, sheltered housing and community venues together with our own Brigstock Road Community Hall.

The Healthier Lifestyle team at Age UK Croydon offers a range of inclusive and accessible activities and events across the borough of Croydon combining exercise and social engagement in a variety of local settings.  These sessions help reduce isolation, improve independence, prevent falls, increase fitness levels and manage health conditions. They also provide social engagement and interaction, information and support around living with dementia, a safe and welcoming space for all to engage and relax.

Duties will include (but are not limited to) –

• Independently delivering chair-based exercise sessions on a daily basis in Croydon care homes to residents.
• Working as part of the health hub team to deliver health hubs in various Croydon locations.  If qualified also delivering standing exercise sessions.
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with care home, health hub venue staff and partner organisations or talk providers.
• Setting up of equipment for activities and ensuring resources are ready for events.
• Delivering basic health checks including blood pressure, BMI and diabetes screening.
