Purpose of the role
To support the communications team in raising the profile of Day One, primarily on social media and with a focus on short-form video content.

Key responsibilities
The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead the day-to-day management of Day One's social networks
- Create content for Day One’s social media accounts, website and email marketing
- Create video content for Day One’s social media channels and YouTube
- Work closely with Day One’s Services Team to identify patient stories which demonstrate the charity’s impact
- Write case studies and ‘stories of recovery’ based on the experiences of our service users and volunteers

What we’ll need from you
This job is all about supporting the communications team in raising the profile of Day One, primarily on social media and with a focus on short-form video content. You will work closely with our service users, volunteers and staff to make compelling content for social media in both written and video form. You will need to be creative, proactive, empathetic and adaptable. Working closely with our fundraising and communications team, you’ll ensure people remain at the heart of our work by telling powerful stories that resonate with our audiences and effectively communicate the impact of major trauma and the support Day One provides. As we are a small organisation, you will need to be ready to support the wider team with fundraising and service delivery projects.
Who you’ll be working with
You’ll work as a key member of our friendly, experienced and enthusiastic communications and fundraising team. We're a small, hard-working team with big ambitions, but we still make the time to support each other. You’ll be line-managed by me (Digital Communications Officer), and work alongside our Communications Manager Dave and Marketing and Communications Officer Harriet. You’ll be supported by our Fundraising and Communications Director, a supportive SLT and board of trustees, and work alongside six fantastic fundraising colleagues. This position is new for the charity, so there is lots of scope for you to carve out the role and make it your own. We’ll support you, so together we can become the charity that communication professionals want to work for: because of the impact we have on the lives of major trauma patients and their families, our inclusive culture, professional development opportunities and exceptional communications.

Purpose of the role
As the Board Secretary to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for administration support, diary management and meeting organisation of the Board and Board Committees including being responsible for the compiling and distribution of Board packs by co-ordinating input from relevant staff.
Administration support will include assistance with developing and recording annual workplans, minute-taking, action management and support with forward planning for meetings and key events. You will take ownership of the annual meeting schedule and calendar of Board and Committee meetings; you will also be responsible for organising other trustee and CEO related meetings at the discretion of the Chair of the Board.
As Executive Assistant, you will provide high quality administration support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to ensure the smooth operation of CEO and SLT responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.
You will have significant experience of providing accurate proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and be able to demonstrate experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems. Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.
You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional, with well-developed time management skills and able to evidence completion of activities. Key responsibilites
Board Secretary

Develop and maintain annual workplans for the Board and Committees in conjunction with the Chair of Trustees, Committee Chairs, CEO and SLT to ensure agendas are structured and tasks are delivered and completed.

Set Board and Committee meeting dates in conjunction with the CEO and Chair and organise all meetings which may be in person, online or hybrid.

Produce Board and Committee meeting agendas in liaison with CEO and SLT, ensuring that committee and board workplans are adhered to, and action logs followed up in a timely manner.

Co-ordinate the collation of Board packs with input from SLT, the Governance Manager and other members of the Extended Leadership Team to support the agenda items.

Oversee the timetable for production of Board packs and using the board portal (Team Engine), distribute agendas and the Board pack for all board and committee meetings on a timely basis.

Clerk all board and committee meetings, producing minutes and action logs in a timely fashion and ensuring they are signed off by the CEO, SLT lead and Chair.

Keep the board portal (Team Engine) up-to-date with meeting papers, policies and other relevant documents.

Administer all board appointments and reappointments, producing the induction plan and checking all paperwork is complete to ensure compliant appointments.

Support the production and delivery of Board business including the Annual Report and Accounts, recruitment and selection of trustees, and Board development activity where required.

In conjunction with the Company Secretary and Governance Manager, ensure adherence to submission with various regulatory and statutory documents to Companies House and the Charities Commission.

Liaise with the Governance Manager and Chair on the administration of compliance and governance matters related to the Board and longer-term Board projects e.g. skills audits and Board development.
Executive Assistant

Provide proactive and responsive administrative support at an executive level to the CEO and SLT, including diary management and ad hoc administration tasks.

Develop, plan and maintain an organisational calendar and scheduling meetings and events in a co-ordinated and manageable way.

Liaise with SLT to plan an appropriate schedule of work for the organisational calendar to maximise collaboration and the efficient use of time and resources.

Provide executive and secretarial support including action logs at the weekly SLT meetings in an efficient and effective way e.g. using note taking software. Assist with following up actions and meeting outcomes by the agreed deadlines.

Collate and distributing of agendas, actions and annual workplans for the SLT meetings in a timely manner.

Organisation and administrative support of charity wide events including internal quarterly whole organisation meetings, both in-person and virtual, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of these events.

The team and role overview
The HR & Operations function is led by the HR & Operations Manager and includes two Coordinators and one Operations Officer. Together, the team is responsible for delivering effective people management processes, operational support, and internal systems that enable the organisation to function smoothly across both UK and international offices.

Main Responsibilities:
Leadership
1. As a member of the Operational Leadership Team and wider Senior Leadership Team, work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for the strategic management and leadership of the organisation.
2. Work closely with the CEO, Treasurer and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management.
3. Manage, maintain and develop all financial systems and control; increasing their impact and quality, and implementing best practices in financial management.
4. To supervise finance assistants and ensure that they are adhering to financial code of practices.
Financial Management
1. Lead and manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves & designated fund management and financial reporting.
2. Work with HR & Payroll Officer to manage and retain oversight of the day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and general ledger maintenance, including the reconciliation of petty cash, credit cards and all bank accounts on a monthly basis reviewing and approving payment runs and payroll.
3. Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to prepare the annual budgets and forecasts.
4. Lead and manage the provision of regular budget monitoring and reports to budget holders.
5. Assist with the budget preparation for funding bids. Manage, monitor and keep track of any grants, funding or commissioned income, working with relevant managers to provide relevant financial information for inclusion in monitoring reports.
6. Lead and manage the provision of quarterly financial reports to the Board and advise them on financial issues as appropriate

8. Work with the CEO to prepare medium term financial forecasts for the organisation to support strategic decision-making and delivery of strategic priorities.
9. Lead on the audit process and the preparation of year end accounts to trial balance including preparation of the audit file and the closing down of the accounts on our accounting management system to ensure that the organisation is compliant with legal requirements and good practice.
10. To work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and designated Trustees to advise, review and cost the annual pay award.
11. To provide back-up and holiday cover for the processing of monthly payroll.
12. To work with and support the HR & Payroll Officer in providing payroll information and reconciling payroll monthly.
Governance and compliance
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Companies House, HMRC and the Charity Commission).
2. Attend Trustee Board meetings to report on financial matters, including the identification and management of financial risk, and provide any relevant reports.
3. To support the Trustees, SLT and line managers in managing our finances carefully and within our financial means, through provision of advice, guidance, support and training.
4. To be the main point of contact with external auditors.
5. To ensure that robust financial controls are in place, underpinned by appropriate financial policies and procedures and to ensure that they are adhered to and that the organisation is protected from fraud and error.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update CRM systems (Salesforce) and financial records (Xero).
- Provide administrative support to the Board and working groups, including scheduling and minute-taking.
- Support donor communications including donor pitching presentations (PowerPoint), Gift Aid administration, and donor stewardship.
- Coordinate logistics for fundraising trips to the Middle East and manage follow-up actions.
- Assist in drafting supporter emails, organising events and webinars, and managing digital content.
About You:
Essential:
- Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident multitasker with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong alignment with BPP’s mission and values.
Desirable:
- Experience with CRM (Salesforce), Xero, Mailchimp, or Canva.
- Background in charity administration, fundraising, or communications.
- Familiarity with Israel-Palestine and related humanitarian or political issues.

The Britain Palestine Project (BPP) is a UK-based Scottish registered charity working for peace with justice, security, and equal rights for Israelis and Palestinians. The Bid Writer will work in our Business Development Team, planning, developing and writing high quality bid submissions that convey the organisation’s mission, values and expertise to commissioners and funders.
You will be responsible for coordinating strong tender submissions, resulting in successful outcomes. You will help ensure Cranstoun retains all existing contracts and wins new business, in line with the organisation’s strategic plans and targets for growth.
Within this role, you will work collaboratively with a variety of internal stakeholders, using exceptional writing and interpersonal skills to capture and convey Cranstoun’s approach to delivering services across a variety of areas.
We are seeking a confident self-starter, with demonstrable experience of high quality writing and clear evidence of successful outcomes in a business development context (70% success rate). To provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited with a specific focus on those who are homeless. The women we support require intensive practical and emotional support as well as support navigating health and other social care or criminal justice systems. The women will have poor mental or physical health, experience with homelessness and of the criminal justice system, are often victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse and many are homeless. This post specifically will offer support through the Housing First approach, offering access to a home, alongside intensive support. Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalized supported will help women to access other services making appropriate referrals for women who wish to make changes, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including where necessary challenging stigma and judgement women face. This post will work in close partnership with the Tenancy Management Support worker employed by Turning Lives Around.
Our services in Leeds provide support to adult women (and those identifying as women/non- binary) involved in all aspects of the sex industry or who are experiencing exploitation. The postholder will provide support to women identified as requiring or accessing intensive support. The team work to Basis’ organisational values, taking a rights-based approach and provide evidence-based services to enable and empower women to make informed choices. The team have an established reputation for providing high quality, effective safety advice, information and support, enabling safer working practices. Services are provided within the community, on evening outreach and at venues as women determine.
