Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Advocacy Service Manager to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHA) working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

The role is ideal for an experienced Advocate, who is passionate about promoting the rights of people who are experiencing poor mental health, in sometimes challenging conditions, but who is also committed to nurture the next generation of future advocates, as a key part of the role will involve supervising and supporting a current trainee in addition to a qualified IMHA, providing guidance, support, and skills development on casework and advocacy.

In December 2024 the team was awarded the Quality Performance Mark in Advocacy, a testament to their quality of service providing safe and life-changing support.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

Cancer Research UK's Cancer Intelligence (CI) team is part of our Evidence & Implementation (E&I) department within the Policy, Information and Communications directorate. The E&I department is integral in driving impact for people affected by cancer and improving patient outcomes by placing evidence at the heart of the charity's work. Through robust research, the department shapes and drives improvements to cancer policy and practice across prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, inequalities, and innovation.

What will I be doing?

• Managing the analysis and interpretation of statistical information related to cancer prevention, to inform the charity's policy, information and influencing functions

• Ensuring insights are generated in a timely fashion

• Overseeing delivery of analytical projects from development to completion

• Line managing analysts/senior analysts, ensuring direct reports are coached and supported in their roles to deliver projects and seek out opportunities for learning and development

• Project managing analysts/senior analysts matrix working on prevention and agreeing ways of working with their line manager(s)

• Overseeing the development and quality assurance of prevention statistics messaging for external and/or internal use, taking responsibility for review and final sign-off. Contributing to sign-off on general statistics and press enquiries, meeting tight deadlines as needed.

• Developing and maintaining knowledge of PIC's strategic priorities, contributing to ideas for data/analysis projects that align with our strategic priorities and/or evidence gaps.

• Ensuring that statistical information is adapted/communicated for a range of audiences (including to non-statistical teams) as appropriate

• Attending/chairing CRUK working groups and other appropriate forums to become a recognised expert within and beyond CRUK, and to obtain insights on emerging priorities shared by other teams and organisations

• Compiling regular progress reports against project plans for key stakeholders, managing stakeholder engagement and communication and ensuring decisions can be made at key milestones.

 Your remit will be to work with the HR Officer to provide responsive, problem solving and supportive HR service to managers across the organisation and to work alongside, support and advise the Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver a strong HR strategy embedding best practice and continuing to build a positive, inclusive and high- performing culture strongly aligned with Liberty’s values.

We’re seeking a proactive and collaborative marketing professional to join the growing and dynamic Brand & Marketing Team. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work with channel owners to develop and execute communications plans and projects
• Act as the marketing lead/link between the marketing team and the wider charity, ensuring projects are briefed in and delivered on time and to budget
• Work with internal content team and external freelancers to ensure assets are created to brief and delivered on time
• Monitor the communications inbox, ensuring messages reach their intended destination
• Support the Brand & Marketing Team in implementing a new account management process within the wider marketing team
• Play a leading role in developing the marketing team’s internal communications, ensuring the wider team is represented and the Charity is informed of updates, projects and trends
• Develop our approach to micro-fundraising awareness days, working with the digital and creative teams to implement and execute opportunities
• Support the Brand & Marketing team to deliver and monitor key projects, including the brand development programme
• Act as a brand guardian and ambassador, ensuring assets and output are compliant with brand guidelines
• Develop key relationships with stakeholders across The Charity
• Support with brand tracking and monitoring, including scoping tools and key metrics

You'll be responsible for:

• Responding to associate enquiries via phone, email, and post in a timely, warm, and professional manner, with empathy and attention to detail throughout.
• Listening and responding to the needs of each supporter, understanding their motivations and experiences to foster long-term relationships.
• Developing a programme to regularly thank donors for their support.
• Ensuring supporters feel valued and appreciated.
• Maintaining accurate supporter records on our CRM system, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
• Working closely with the Head of Development to ensure consistent messaging and supporter journeys.

Location

The role is home-based with regular travel required to visit supporters and to supporter events across the UK.

Please note, it's a requirement of the role that you have a UK driving licence and access to a car.

About You

We’re looking for a compassionate and highly organised individual who excels in building meaningful relationships and delivering exceptional supporter care. You will have experience of working with supporters, or in a donor relations role, and be an excellent communicator.

Job Title: Housing Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Housing IGVA)

The Housing Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) will be embedded within borough housing teams to facilitate the dual working that will ensure that survivors’ safety and housing needs are met. This includes:

· Close working relationships with Housing colleagues 

· Provision of specialist knowledge relating to DA for Housing Officers and Homelessness Teams to draw on 

· Specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis 

· Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation 

· Ongoing support from the IGVA from wider DA service, including access to group clinical supervision, casework management meetings, reflective practice sessions, one-to-one supervision from service manager 

The Housing IGVA will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children. The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence).

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal, housing and practical options that might increase their safety. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support especially around complex housing needs.

The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

We are working to increase access to mental health support for care leavers. Working in collaboration with Manchester City Council, this role will be part of the Staying Close team, developing a service for young people age 16-25 who are stepping across from residential homes and/or released from custody, developing their pathway to independence. The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

· A relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or Youth & Community Work (at graduate level).

· At least two years’ experience working with young people aged 16-25 in the care system and/or youth work. (ESSENTIAL)

· Experience in providing effective short-term and long-term support to young people who are under stress/have mental health difficulties.

· Ability to engage with young people individually using creative and imaginative methods and processes.

· Ability to work collaboratively and to create kind relationships with colleagues, partners, volunteers, staff and young people that lead to people feeling accepted, understood and able to contribute.
