This year marks 10 years since Makan was established as an independent organisation providing transformative education to strengthen the movement for Palestinian liberation. At Makan, we have seen this reflected in the extraordinary growth of our programmes. Over the last three years, demand for our educational workshops has risen by 300% and in 2025 alone we worked with over 3,500 people across the globe – with artists, trade unions, students, educators, journalists, community organisers, and human rights networks, people whose voices shape public understanding of Palestine. Through our trainings, educational resources, and long term partnerships, we help people deepen their understanding of how settler colonialism, apartheid and displacement shapes the lives of Palestinians, and how these forces connect to broader global struggles for freedom and justice.

We are looking for an experienced Director/Co-directors to drive the organisation forward at this critical moment for our work. You’ll provide leadership and direction in delivering Makan’s strategic vision and objectives, furthering the charity’s programmes and communications; and overseeing its organisational growth and development, in line with its values and ethos.

You will be responsible for the overall impact, performance and collaborative culture of Makan; confident in representing the charity to a variety of stakeholders, including partners, media, major donors and other supporters; and able to provide effective support to the Board to ensure the organisation has the infrastructure, governance and resources in place to secure long term sustainable funding, develop the resilience of the charity, and deliver high-quality, impactful educational programmes.

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Head of Research to oversee the delivery of our research funding programme. You will ensure our funding is delivered strategically with the greatest impact possible for people affected by MND. You will manage our research team to oversee the development and delivery of effective funding schemes, partnerships and initiatives, whilst ensuring the outputs of our research are monitored and evaluated, to communicate our impact and inform our future activities.

This is a key role in our small, agile organisation that will involve close working across the charity, and the research community. We are looking for someone with strong experience in research and people management, working experience in drug discovery, with excellent communication skills and strong motivation to make a difference for people affected by MND. 

Team Structure: 

You will report to the Director of Research and manage a team of four: three Research Programme Managers and a Research Officer. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Have day-to-day responsibility for distribution of the charity’s research funding, developing detailed annual plans and delivering against time and budget; 

• Be responsible for overseeing governance and compliance for all research funding activities, including adherence to standards set by the Association of Medical Research Charities; 

• Identify opportunities for improvements to grant management systems, processes and documentation and work closely with the research team to ensure they are implemented; 

• Maintain oversight of the research programme budget, working closely with the research and finance teams to plan, monitor and forecast; 

• Oversee the development and implementation of new funding schemes and research initiatives to ensure our funds are delivered for maximum impact and address gaps in the research landscape; 

• Oversee the setup and delivery of large collaborative research programmes including managing relationships with joint funders and other partner organisations; 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with the research community, including members of our review committees and grant holders; 

• Oversee the development and implementation of a robust impact evaluation framework to monitor, report and evaluate the impact of the research we fund and use this information to inform our future funding activities; 

• Ensure the outputs of our research funding activities inform the work of the charity, working with the research and communication teams to create and disseminate compelling and engaging scientific content to engage supporters and drive income; 

• Maintain a strong understanding of the MND research landscape, using those insights to inform our research activities; 

• Develop a high performing team, ensuring team members are supported and developed to contribute to their full potential in the achievement of the charity’s aims; 

• Oversee the delivery of research events e.g. annual meetings to bring together our researchers; 

• Support the development and implementation of future research strategies, working closely with the Director of Research; 

• Represent the Foundation at external meetings including international conferences; 

• Deputise for the Director of Research as required; 

• Undertake other appropriate work as required by the Director of Research. 

Skills and experience required: 

• Educated to postgraduate level, or with similar experience in a relevant biomedical science subject e.g. biochemistry, molecular sciences, neuroscience, pharmacology; 

• Working experience of drug discovery, gained either in the bio-pharmaceutical industry or an academic setting; 

• Significant experience in research management, ideally within a charity or government funding organisation; 

• Proven leadership and people management skills with direct line management experience; 

• The ability to think strategically, navigate uncertainty and adapt to evolving environments; 

• A great communicator, with excellent written and oral skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; 

• Motivated to make a real difference for those living with MND and future generations.

The Acquisition Marketing Manager attracts new UK supporters and generates income for Mary’s Meals’ school meals programme through effective and inspiring marketing across online and offline channels. This is a fast paced and hands on role for someone who loves to collaborate, problem solve and drive growth while keeping focused on our mission to feed hungry children. 

The role primarily raises income (but also awareness) through multi-channel marketing activity with a clear focus on maximising ROI and delivering supporter growth at scale. The focus of the role is on online marketing opportunities and includes managing our organic and paid social channels, overseeing social media influencer strategy and identifying emerging digital channels. The Manager works closely with the Mary’s Meals International team and its agency to deliver Google and Bing Paid Search, Google Grant, Display, and YouTube.

The role will also identify and manage the most effective offline marketing opportunities to maximise ROI from small budgets and pro bono opportunities, such as TV, Radio and OOH advertising. The Manager will ensure online and offline marketing opportunities complement each other (and link seamlessly to our retention strategies) as part of an integrated multi-channel marketing strategy.

The Acquisition Marketing Manager works side-by-side with colleagues from across the Supporter Experience and Communications directorate, ensuring a joined-up approach to all communications activities, through the integration of strong storytelling, marketing expertise and supporter engagement. PURPOSE OF ROLE

As part of Caudwell Youth’s five-year strategy to Go National, this role will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s first online mentoring service.

The Project Manager for Online Services will oversee the pilot, implementation and ongoing management of the programme, ensuring safe, accessible and high-quality support for young people. Working closely with the Deputy CEO and internal teams, the role will shape the future of Caudwell Youth’s digital support offer.

Key Duties

• Lead the pilot and implementation of Caudwell Youth’s national online mentoring programme.
• Manage the digital platform where the online mentoring will take place, ensuring it operates effectively and provides a user-friendly service.
• Working in conjunction with internal teams to develop evaluation and evidence outcomes of the pilot.
• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the online mentoring programme, ensuring safe, consistent and effective support for young people.
• Understand and analyse user journeys, using the data and insight to shape current programmes and ensure continuous improvement of online services.
• Identify opportunities to expand reach and accessibility for young people who may face barriers to in-person support.

Sabre Education is an international NGO which, since 2004, has been providing children in Ghana with the best possible early childhood education by partnering with government to implement play-based learning at scale. Sabre focuses on:

This is a senior strategic position within the organisation, sitting on the senior leadership team, reporting to the CEO and working closely with colleagues across the UK and Ghana.

About the Role

As Member Network Account Manager, you will be the main contact for several Member Networks. You’ll support and guide volunteers across multiple committees, helping them deliver activity for their members confidently and effectively. This includes advising on governance, finance, volunteer recruitment, events and wider activity planning. You will also build strong relationships, coordinate events, and work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to ensure Member Networks are supported effectively and can achieve their objectives.

A day in the life may include:

• Advising and guiding volunteers on governance, finance, awards, planning and compliance matters
• Supporting Networks to deliver their activity plans by monitoring progress, managing timelines and helping ensure activities remain within agreed budgets and objectives
• Coordinating events and projects that drive member engagement, including budget creation, venue liaison and travel bookings
• Managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries with clear advice and signposting
• Attending meetings, recording actions and following up to ensure progress
• Sharing best practice and encouraging collaboration to support continuous improvement
• Maintaining accurate records on our CRM and documents in Google Workspace, including budgets, reports and committee lists.
• Delivering volunteer training on new processes, systems or ways of working.
• Coordinating awards and grants, updating web content and communicating with applicants
• Managing committee recruitment, posting roles and handling applications
• Working with internal teams such as Membership and Marketing to provide seamless support.

As Director for Supporters, you will provide pivotal fundraising leadership to build long-term support through regular giving and legacies while valuing donors deeply. Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with:

• Significant experience of applied quantitative research, including survey design, research methods, data analysis and reporting.
• Experience of managing complex research or survey programmes involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, including planning resources, monitoring progress and driving successful delivery.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience of working effectively with clients, partners and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate findings clearly to a range of audiences.
• A degree (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant discipline.

Experience of healthcare, social care or charity-sector research, alongside knowledge of software such as SPSS, Qualtrics or ClickUp, would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will help increase our capacity to engage with more young people, provide high-quality support, and ensure the continued delivery of our core youth services while contributing to the development of new opportunities for young people. This role is fully remote, full time with a four day working week (32 hours).
