Job Title: Training Facilitator

Location: Our central office in Islington, just a 10 minute walk from Highbury & Islington station. We work in a hybrid way, with a minimum of two days a week spent in the office or at one of our services, along with regular travel to various sites across both inner and outer London. About the role

We have an exiting opportunity for a Training Facilitator to join our Talent Development team, part of the wider People and Culture team here at SIG! In this role, you’ll oversee and deliver our specialised training programmes for our staff, residents, participants, and external parties. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leading People Operations: embedding excellent policies and processes, and advisory support

· Provide leadership of the the day-to-day People and Culture team at the Charity, including direct management of the People and Culture Manager, Volunteer Development Manager, and Learning and Engagement Manager.

· Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging Champions Groups e.g. EDI Champions, to make The Charity a great place to work

· Provide senior leadership advisory support to Heads of Teams peers and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we have the right skills and culture to enable our strategic priorities

· Provide advice, guidance and support to leaders and manager on employment law, people policies and practices, and manage complex employee relations matters as required

· Oversee the management of people operations suppliers, including with payroll and pensions, and setting and tracking the People and Culture budget in support of our people priorities

· Work with the People and Culture Manager to develop and deliver innovative recruitment plans that attract talented and diverse candidates, and inclusive selection and onboarding processes

· Work with the support of the People and Culture Manager to collect and report meaningful people data to inform decision-making, supporting retention and engagement.

· Work with the People and Culture Manager to evaluate, develop and manage wellbeing programmes that support the physical, mental, and emotional health of The Charity team

· Work with the Learning and Engagement Manager to develop a career framework that rewards and recognises strong performance and provides meaningful career development opportunities

· Work with the Learning and Engagement Manager to embed a culture of listening at The Charity, where people’s ideas and concerns are sought, listened to, and responded to. This includes overseeing strong internal communication.

Leading and delivering people and culture projects

· Support the Director of People and Culture to lead and deliver projects and initiatives in support of The Charity’s EDI plan, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within The Charity, and working to ensure that our team reflects the diverse communities that we serve.

About the role

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist. 

You will:

• Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
• Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
• Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
• Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
• Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
• Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
• Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.  

About you

We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.

The CEO is excited to welcome a proactive, purpose-driven, and resourceful Communications and Engagement Lead to join their small and purposeful team and support the next phase in their journey.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.

You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.

While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.

Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.

Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.

A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).
