This is a leadership role within User Voice’s London team, managing two of our new flagship programmes focused on mentoring, volunteering, and community engagement for people with convictions. The Project Manager will lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of these initiatives, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and deliver meaningful impact for participants and stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone with lived experience of the criminal justice system who is ready to take the next step in their career or is already leading complex projects and managing teams and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of two new flagship programmes, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with User Voice’s mission.
• Build and maintain relationships with prisons, probation services, community organizations, and research partners.
• Lead on the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers, ensuring their meaningful involvement in project delivery.
• Lead on data collection, analysis, and reporting to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement.

You will be instrumental in the quality and impactful implementation, delivery and retention of our sites. You will oversee the delivery of exceptional outcomes in support of the charity's mission. You will work as part of a Regional/Country team to deliver outstanding programmes across your geography, establishing and leading partnerships throughout the life of a programme.    

Regular travel throughout your geographical location will be required, with occasional travel to other areas of the UK, NI and Iberia.  Please stipulate which role you are applying for (North of England or Nationwide).

 In addition, occasional international travel may be required, for example to the annual conference in the United States.  

You will report to either Regional/Country Lead within the Delivery & Partnerships team or the Associate Director of Business Development (depending on the scope of your role).

About the Role

As Service Manager you will oversee a group of supported accommodation services across Lambeth, Twickenham and Greenwich. The service supports young people aged 16 to 25, including those at risk of homelessness and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

You will manage five properties and lead a team of Progression Coaches, Night Progression Coaches, a Senior Coach, a Floating Support Worker, an Apprentice and volunteers. Working closely with Lambeth commissioners and the Leaving Care Team, you will ensure high-quality, safe and responsive services.

We are looking for a candidate with strong budget oversight and organisational skills to join our small team and be our lead for Camden's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, a national programme funded by the Department for Education. With the support of YCF's Head of Partnerships & Grants and CEO, you will oversee and manage a significant budget, and all project management aspects of the programme, to ensure excellent, high-quality provision for Camden's Free School Meal eligible children and young people. 

In August 2025, the programme was extended nationally by the DfE for an additional three years, and we await confirmation as to the exact allocation for Camden, which would hopefully enable us to extend this role to a three year contract to 2029. 

About the HAF programme in Camden and this role

Young Camden Foundation has been Camden Council’s delivery partner for the national, Department for Education funded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme since its inception in 2021. The programme distributes around £800,000 per year to support Free School Meal eligible children and young people in the borough across the main holidays of Spring, Summer and Winter.

You will lead all project management, from budget stewardship to overseeing programme delivery, with the support of the team. You will oversee a complex budget of around £800,000 ensuring its effective use throughout the year. You will ensure that each HAF programme in Camden offers young participants a diverse and enjoyable range of activities provided by respected organisations, operating at the highest levels of safety, quality, and in alignment with the Department for Education’s funding requirements. You will lead on all reporting, data processing, overseeing of invoicing, and communications of the programme.

About the role

Broadening our community of supporters and growing our income is vital to achieving this strategy and the role of Events Manager is critical to this growth.

This role would suit an energetic and ambitious events professional, who is able to bring a structured and collaborative approach to deliver a demanding programme of events to the highest standard. With the support and guidance of the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Board of Trustees, this is an exciting opportunity to take on a career defining role in an exceptionally well regarded and well run charity.

Job Description

Purpose:

• Overall responsibility for the delivery of Chance to Shine’s events, ensuring each event is executed to the highest standard.
• To lead the planning, budgeting, sales and delivery of fundraising events at Chance to Shine ensuring each event maximises income and profit for the charity.
• To develop an events strategy to maximise income from fundraising challenge events.
• To build positive relationships with charity VIPs and ambassadors, ensuring they are fully briefed at each event.
• To manage the Events Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Event Management

• Project management of a full programme of events including cultivation dinners, annual awards receptions, and major fundraising events.
• Lead on selling Chance to Shine events to new and existing supporters, maximising income through ticket/table sales, auction and raffle income, and sponsorships.

Event Planning

• Lead on the concept and design of new fundraising events.
• To develop and regularly review an organisational events strategy focused on maximising income and return on investment for the charity.

· To develop annual budgets, forecasts and plans for all event income to feed into the wider fundraising budget. 

· To have specific responsibility for the events budget within Chance to Shine Enterprises (CTSE), the trading subsidiary. 

Relationship Management

• Broaden supporter networks and build a community of event supporters through networking, introductions, and working with the wider fundraising team to cross sell events and maximise income.
• Build relationships with existing and new event partners including; charity ambassadors and event hosts, venues, auctioneers, auction/raffle supporters, silent auction partners, and value-in-kind partners/sponsors. 
• To lead on supplier relationships.
• To work with and manage senior volunteers to develop, plan and deliver major fundraising events.

Beneficiary and challenge events

• To build relationships with high value event partners and supporters who are raising funds on behalf of Chance to Shine, providing support as needed.
• To provide guidance to the Events Officer to maximise income from challenge events and community/third-party events.
• To work with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to integrate fundraising challenge events into our corporate partnership offer.
• To develop and implement a strategy to grow income from challenge events.

Line Management

· To line manage the Events Officer.  

Other

· To engage Trustees, SMT and colleagues to support partnership opportunities where appropriate.

· To maintain up to date Raisers Edge records relating to event attendees and partners.

· To represent the charity at external events as appropriate.

· To assist with other fundraising tasks as required. 

· To lead on the contracts process for event partnerships, liaising with the Director of Finance & Resources and external legal support as required.

· To ensure fundraising events are delivered in a safe and professional manner including responsibility for risk assessments relating to fundraising activity and events.

· To ensure all areas of events fundraising comply with sector and charity regulations and best practice

Person Specification

Essential experiences and competencies:

· Educated to a degree level or equivalent

· Minimum five years’ experience in an events or fundraising team

· Experience of developing and managing budgets

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong inter-personal skills

· Line Management experience

· A demonstrable passion and connection to  the mission of Chance to Shine

The Director, Central Team, will develop and oversee programmes across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, playing a key role in realising our vision of building the Freshwater Network.
