About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and organised Education Officer who will play a vital role in inspiring children and families to connect with nature through engaging outdoor learning experiences. They will deliver a dynamic annual programme of curriculum-linked environmental education sessions and wild play activities across the region, with a particular focus on Birmingham. This role supports the development of lifelong connections to nature by bringing learning to life in local green spaces and nature reserves. to support the planning and delivery of events and engagement activities across our sites and communities. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

This post is based at EcoPark, 258a Hobmoor Road, Small Heath, B10 9HH, with flexibility to work from home as required. This role will require regular travel regionally – a company pool vehicle will be provided for travel in between sites.

Senior Social Worker

Reports to: Service Manager (Social Work)

Our client is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.

They are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to be based in their office in Pontefract to lead the service delivery within the Yorkshire and North East region, managing a team of office based and home-based Social Work Assistants providing advice and support to former Miners and their dependents.

Role Purpose

Responsibility for the professional leadership and management of service delivery within the regional personal welfare team. The role also involves promoting the service locally and developing partnerships with other agencies for the benefit of the client group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the personal welfare team for the Yorkshire and North East region to provide a high quality, professional, outcomes focused service for former Miners and their dependents.
• Ensure the effective management of casework across the team including case allocation and management.
• Manage a small caseload of clients, when necessary, with a variety of needs, by carrying out high quality assessments and providing a range of appropriate interventions in response to assessed needs of the clients e.g. welfare benefits advice, advocacy, emotional support and practical advice.
• Drive service performance and improvement, monitoring efficiency and effectiveness and taking action to address performance or practice issues should they arise.
• Support the team through supervision, appraisal, case reviews and observations.
• Act as safeguarding lead for the region, advising and supporting team members to take appropriate action, ensuring adherence to the organisations safeguarding policy.
• Manage the delivery of a range of interventions predominantly through a home visiting service, including welfare benefits advice, support with mobility, social isolation and financial issues etc.
• Keep updated with relevant legislation and good practice and share such information across the team and wider organisation.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with other professionals and partner agencies to ensure integrated, holistic and multidisciplinary approach.
• Represent the organisation at events and meetings as required and co-ordinate publicity and marketing of services in the region in co-operation with head office to promote and advertise the service.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration.
• Experience of leading / managing a team in a social care setting with the ability to manage and effectively prioritise caseloads, work with integrity and professionalism and work under pressure.
• Experience of community based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services.
• Experience of implementing systems and processes and facilitating change.
• Experience of contributing to the development and updating of policies and practice in line with legislative changes and good practice.
• Good working knowledge of welfare benefits system.
• Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their Carers within the community setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly in relation to older people, mental health and disability.
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Flexibility to travel across a wide geographic area with occasional overnight stays.

Desirable:

• Experience of social work practice teaching and/or practice teacher status or working towards.
• Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing former mineworkers and mining communities.

This role will require a satisfactory DBS check.

The Role

As Warehouse Asssistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of Yorkshire Cancer Research’s warehouse.  Supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will focus on accurately picking, packing and preparing donated stock for distribution to retail outlets or beneficiaries. 

This role provides an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting the flow of goods that ultimately attracts the funds needed to deliver life-saving research and services across Yorkshire.

Specifically, you will:

• Accurately pick stock from order lists that are sent to the Warehouse.
• Pack goods securely and appropriately for transport to Shops, Beneficiaries or Head Office.
• Pick, prepare and ship parcels for dispatch.
• Accept and put away deliveries from both external suppliers and our Donation Centre. 
• Ensure stock is organised and accessible at all times.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
• Safely and efficiently load vans at the end of each day with the required stock.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Use equipment (eg. Trolleys, pallet jacks) safely and responsibly and in line with the training provided.
• Work collaboratively with other warehouse employees and volunteers.
• Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Operations Manager regarding stock levels and issues.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be Ideally educated to GCSE or equivalent, or able to demonstrate experience in a similar role at a similar level.
• To be familiar with Microsoft Office and the use of technology.
• To have experience of working across teams and supporting multiple stakeholders.
• The role includes manual handling duties, and therefore, you must be able to safely and confidently conduct manual handling up to the limits specified by the HSE.
• To be highly organised with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.

The role

The Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our Council funded Adult Bereavement Service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This service aims to provide accessible, accessible, empathetic and effective support for adults affected by bereavement, particularly sudden or drug/alcohol-related deaths. The Project Delivery Officer will work collaboratively as part of the local and regional volunteer and staff team. Coram Voice is a leading children’s rights organisation. We champion the rights of children. We get young voices heard in decisions that matter to them and work to improve the lives of children in care, care leavers and others who depend upon the help of the state.

We provide:

• Advocacy services direct to children and young people in care, in need, in custody and to care leavers and children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems. Advocates around the country support children and young people to get their voice heard in decisions about their lives. This may be through the telephone helpline or through an advocate working directly with a child, for instance, to support them at a review meeting or to help them make a complaint about their care. Coram Voice provides visiting advocacy services to most of the secure units nationally, to Secure Training Centres, Juvenile Young Offender Institutions, psychiatric hospitals, residential special schools and children’s homes.
• Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) to advocate for young people as qualifying patients under the Mental Health Act, in order to fully support them to get their views heard in matters relating to their mental health.
• Independent Visitor services offers a child or young person in care an adult volunteer who provides independent, one-to-one visiting, advice and befriending support. Our independent visitors can become the only long-term, consistent source of support throughout a young person's time in care.
• Independent services provide independent person services for complaints by children and for reviewing whether children should be locked up in secure units on welfare grounds.
• Policy and campaigning to create a better system for all children and young people looked after by the state, for their care to be more child-centred and to give young people a greater say in decisions about their lives.
  • Participation services to ensure children and young people have a voice in the development and delivery of services and campaigns, and through the process, provide the opportunity to develop relevant skills which will be of benefit to them in their future lives.
  • Training, development and information for young people, advocates and child care workers, offering courses in advocacy, children’s rights and child-centred practice across a range of areas including the National Advocacy Qualification.

About the Role

You will co-ordinate and deliver a statutory independent visitor service to children and young people in care or care leavers of Coventry & Warwickshire.

You will recruit, assess and train volunteers to become independent visitors, who are volunteer befrienders to children and young people looked after or care leavers. You will manage a cash flow to fund suitable activities for independent visitors to enjoy with the young person. You will manage data and reporting for this statutory service so that service leads and other stakeholders can understand the activity in the service.

We are a child led service, you will not act outside of the young person’s instructions (except in matters of child protection and safety.)You will build strong relationships with the child or young person, independent visitors and other significant adults, you will support Independent Visitors to develop long term, meaningful friendships with the young person.

You will work in partnership with other parts of the service, organisation and external agencies and professionals. This is to ensure there are pathways to attract and retain Independent Visitors in the area and sometimes out of area.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative team that delivers high-quality training, conferences, and events for mental health professionals. You’ll play a key part in coordinating sessions, supporting trainers and participants, and keeping our operations running smoothly so that every event feels seamless and well organised

• You’ll coordinate and schedule training, conferences and events (online, in-person and hybrid), liaising with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure smooth delivery.
• You’ll support delivery days by facilitating sessions, handling AV/IT setup, and assisting with any troubleshooting needed during the event.
• As the Training Conferences and Events Officer, you’ll act as the administrative lead for allocated programmes, managing systems, processing bookings and applications, sending invoices, monitoring payments, and ensuring attendee viability.
• You will provide high-quality administrative support to trainers and speakers, including preparing documents, arranging travel within budget, offering Zoom guidance, and organising team meetings with agendas and minutes.
• As the Training Conferences and Events Officer, you’ll maintain accurate data across our systems, manage a high volume of email and phone enquiries, and nurture strong relationships with trainers, supervisors and commissioners to help plan and deliver programmes effectively

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-centred environment, bringing strong organisation, calm under pressure, and proven experience in coordinating training or events while delivering an excellent experience for everyone involved.

• Experience coordinating projects or events in a busy, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities confidently.

Key details

Hours: Part-time (17.5hrs) ideally Monday to Friday 09:00 - 12:30, flexibility to support training, conferences and events outside of these hours required

Salary: £31,366 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, either at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) or our Northern Hub (Huckletree, The Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester M4 5AD).

We’re looking for a dynamic Head of Governance & Business Administration to play a pivotal role in ensuring our organisation runs with integrity, transparency, and impact. In this role, you’ll lead on governance, risk management, and compliance, acting as Company Secretary and Data Protection Officer. JOB SUMMARY

To ensure that efficient governance, operational systems and controls are in place to manage Factory International’s Governance and Business Administration function.

This includes governance and acting as Company secretariat, data protection and acting as Data Protection Officer, accountable for Business Plan Reporting, internal communication, oversight of Legal & Compliance, Risk Management, Insurance, Policies & Procedures and Procurement

The key responsibilities for the Head of Governance & Business Administration include;

Governance & Risk

• Ensure robust governance frameworks and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and distribution of papers
• Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely filing of returns and documents with regulatory bodies
• Support FI Executive and Board in proactively managing risk, and accurately reflecting via the Company Risk register, working closely with Directors to ensure quarterly updates are shared with the Executive Leadership and Board of Trustees (including relevant sub-committees)
• Maintain consistency and compliance for all internal communication channels

Business Planning & Reporting

• Act as the organisational lead for Business Plan Reporting, ensuring alignment across all key grant funding agreements and business plan KPIs
• Oversee the annual cycle of statutory reporting to both public sector funders and trustees including all ad-hoc reporting requests across the business
• Attend key external stakeholder meetings with the Executive Director (e.g. MCC, ACE, GMCA) relating to reporting against grant agreements etc
• Work closely with key Directors, Commercial Leads (including the Trusts & Foundations Manager) on funding bids ensuring that commitments are consistent with our agreed internal Business Plan targets and objectives

Legal, Insurance, Data Protection & Compliance

• Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance in all systems and procedures around business administration
• Acting as lead organisational contact and budget holder for external legal support ensuring consistent processes are followed and value for money is achieved to meet the strategic needs of the business
• Ensure adequate data protection in place, devise and implement any additional process and/or training, and act as DPO, accessing external advice as appropriate
• Where required, support the achievement of essential consents such as Planning, Licence variations, Building Control, etc
• Manage the relationship with FI’s insurance broker, working with the Executive Director and Finance Director to ensure appropriate cover and regularly review policies. Overseeing the appropriate claiming of all losses

Procurement

• Acting as lead organisational contact for all Procurement Activity – working closely with the Executive Director to ensure consistent processes are followed and value for money is achieved to meet the strategic needs of the business
• Maintain oversight of the register of planned Procurement as well as responding to un-planned procurement requirements – working closely with relevant Directors and Executives

Policies & Procedures

• Overall responsibility for control and oversight of the organisation’s suite of policies and procedures, including requests for new procedures
• Ensure that key policies are updated by business owners and renewed as per the agreed schedule – ensuring a consistency of tone, content and that relevant checks/approvals have been managed at the appropriate level (Exec, Trustees etc)

Caudwell Youth exists to level the playing field for young people at risk.

They may be care experienced, have mental health challenges, be neurodivergent or be at risk of exploitation or offending.

Caudwell Youth is a dynamic new charity which has just celebrated its third birthday.

What we do 

Caudwell Youth shapes young people’s futures by providing person-centred support to at risk 11 to 24-year-olds through volunteer-led mentoring for up to 18-months, alongside a targeted intervention programme.

Our vision is to help every young person at-risk in the UK. We give young people the time, trust and support they need to shape a positive future, no matter their starting point. 

Our mentoring service is designed to ensure every young person feels safe, heard and supported. Each young person gains a trusted adult (a trained volunteer) who meets with them once a week to support them as they take steps towards a more positive future.  

This year, we have supported more than 400 young people.

Our fundraising 

We have a compelling fundraising proposition. We were founded by billionaire philanthropist John Caudwell, who has pledged to match all donations and fundraising at 33%.

Our mentoring service is delivering exceptional outcomes for young people, and we are ambitious for the future.

This is a crucial time for Caudwell Youth’s fundraising function, as we are set to embark on a new strategy for national growth in the new year. For the financial year just gone, grant income accounted for around 28% of our fundraising revenue.

Our aim is to grow our charity sustainably, while continuing to meet the evolving needs of at-risk young people in ways that are effective and life-changing. This role will be a key part of that journey.

We are looking for an experienced grants, trusts and foundations fundraiser who can hit the ground running, both in solidifying and owning our valuable relationships with existing grant and trust fundrers and in exploring new opportunities.

You will also lead on the evaluation of our service impact across the organisation, gathering, analysing and presenting data to illustrate the valuable outcomes our services have for at-risk young people.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to support the Head of PR, Communications and Celebrity Engagement and work collaboratively with Charity and hospital colleagues to highlight the impact our supporters and fundraisers make to cancer patients.

You will be equally at home pitching a story to a national journalist, working with a senior consultant or scientist to draft a new Charity funded research story, briefing photographers, liaising with fundraisers to tell their story, writing newsletter and marketing copy or devising a communications plan.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive the very best care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres, to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.
