We have a new role for a Service Development Manager. You will be creative and independent thinker who can work across a range of disciplines to increase our community presence, drive improvement in areas of our business performance, and build participation from volunteers, clients and their families in shaping the charity's sustainability.

Key Responsibilities for this role

• To lead the development and delivery of operations, new initiatives, partnerships in our community and volunteer services.

• To lead the development of volunteer capacity across the charity, particularly our horticulture and day opportunities services.

• To manage staff at our horticultural service and promote our nursey and community garden to drive its development and sustainability.

• To work with the leadership team to identify and apply for grants, partnerships and other financial support options to drive service development and income growth.

• To support the charity’s drive toward values-based recruitment and leadership of its staff, volunteers and those using its services.

• Work to ensure that the business priorities and targets associated with the corporate strategy are being met for their service portfolio and the staff working with.

• To draft bids and grant applications (or to support others in doing so) that underpin new areas of work or investment to support existing service provision.

This post is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and progressive team, working within an international federation that supports children and young people across the world. Reporting to the Head of Programme Funding, you will work across the fundraising team, supporting programme set up and reporting, in line with key funding criteria and SOS Children’s Villages monitoring frameworks. You will work with colleagues in SOS Children’s Villages UK and internationally, building capacity in programme design, monitoring and reporting. This includes working with colleagues in multiple countries, collaborating on best practice MEAL work whilst being guided by local knowledge and expertise.

You will hold oversight of the portfolio of programmes being funded by SOS Children’s Villages UK, ensuring the UK based team have the tools, resources and processes to monitor programmes, in partnership with our international colleagues. You will manage reporting timelines, supporting your colleagues to ensure effective delivery of programme reporting, according to the needs of SOS Children’s Villages UK and external donors. You will provide hands on support for the monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting of programmes, taking a lead role in the development of frameworks that will ensure effective capture of data enabling excellent reporting.

We are embarking on ambitious work around data analysis and research, and any experience you have in these fields will be highly valuable, and the appetite to explore them is essential.

You will be an active participant in networks, both globally and within the UK, contributing to our organisational knowledge on how to better monitor and analyse key areas such as gender and inclusivity within our programmes.

This is a home-based role, with regular travel within the UK as well as some international travel which you must be able to undertake.

We are looking for someone with comprehensive knowledge of MEAL systems and processes, and with at least four years of experience in a monitoring, evaluation and/or impact assessment role.

Citizens UK and the NRPF Partnership

Citizens UK

We are Citizens UK. We’re working together to make change on the issues that matter, from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign.

NRPF Partnership

The NRPF partnership was set up in 2023 and is being developed by Citizens UK, Migration Exchange, and Praxis. We are working to build the necessary infrastructure for collaboration across a range of organisations, amplify their work, and build power to win change against the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) condition. Each partner contributes staff capacity and will work closely with the appointed person to ensure a positive, professional and supportive culture. The Partnership centres around: 

1)  Placing decision-making power and strategic vision in the hands of people doing the work 

(frontline staff and people with lived experience), via a steering group and working groups.

2) Establishing a strategic pooled fund so that the steering group has sufficient budget to guide the collaboration, act, identify and seize political opportunities, and facilitate active participation of everyone involved.

3) Expanding the movement and building power, using incremental wins to build towards broader change towards the goal of ending NRPF.

The Person and the Role

100,000s people in our communities have put down roots in the UK but are denied access to the welfare safety net (No Recourse to Public Funds).

Citizens UK has worked with Migration Exchange and Praxis to raise over £2m to develop a 5 year partnership to enable the movement to end NRPF.

This Senior Project role will be a core part of the support to the steering group of the partnership to make sure it runs effectively and achieves its potential.

We are looking for a values-driven and experienced person with exceptional skills and knowledge in project management, relationship-building, and community organising. This role will lead and coordinate all project management and tactical activities necessary to support the day-to-day functioning of the NRPF Partnership. The right person will be highly motivated by joining the distinctive ethos of Citizens UK and the shared values of the NRPF Partnership, where local leaders and people experiencing injustice are in the lead, and where grassroots community organising is combined with strategies for social change.

• Building and maintaining relationships and communication – maintaining excellent working relationships and effective communications with the Coordination Backbone Group (CBG), Steering Group, working groups, wider community partners involved in the NRPF partnership, and the Citizens UK Migration Team 

• Managing and coordinating capacity-building and leadership development in support of the shared strategy set by the steering group– developing and maintaining the effectiveness of a capacity-building and leadership development inputs that enables everyone in the Partnership, especially those with expertise by lived experience, to fully participate across all levels of the Partnership

• Project managing all partnership implementation logistics and follow-up – managing meeting logistics from planning to scheduling to outreach to follow-up to ensure seamless participation of Steering Group and Working Group members and ensure that planned activities take place effectively in support of the goals and values of the Partnership

  The role will be reporting to Assistant Director, Migrant and Refugee Organising.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to X with  oversight from the NRPF Partnership CBG, the post holder will be expected to manage their own independent workload, as well as support the broader CBG. The main responsibilities are outlined below:

Working with the NRPF Partnership’s key stakeholders

• Developing and maintaining relationships with Partnership stakeholders 

• Working with the CBG to update outreach strategy as new needs emerge

• Building and maintaining trust and relationships across the whole Partnership and more widely (within and across sectors from migration to anti-poverty to children’s rights, etc.)

• Supporting with the facilitation of Working Group meetings

• Develop and implement ideas for action that are consistent with the goals of the project

Strategic coherence

• Supporting the coordination of activities with partners to align strategies and actions and minimise duplication

• Working with the CBG to coordinate with other related projects and coalitions to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities

• Maintaining understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them in dialogue with partners

• Developing, maintaining, and monitoring political opportunities to support Working Groups to develop and execute on their action plans

• In partnership with the CBG and steering group, providing support to partner organisations to coordinate and collaborate on joint initiatives

Communications

Build leadership development offer for the Partnership

• Working alongside CBG and the CUK Migration team, refine community organising and leadership development support for all members of the NRPF partnership especially those with lived experience of NRPF

• Ensuring that everyone in the group can contribute to the best of their ability by managing a training and external facilitation budget to build skills, confidence and trust

Fundraising and reporting 

• Working with the CBG to develop and support fundraising bids and support reporting requirements and funder relationships

• Contributing to the budgeting process and the effective management of financial resources in the project working closely with Global Dialogue who will hold pooled funds on behalf of the partnership

Managing meeting/event logistics 

• Planning and managing the logistics of all Partnership meetings and gatherings of the Steering Group, working groups and CBG (e.g., dial-in, attendance, cancellations, etc.)

• Consolidating Working Group updates for Steering Group, including summarising meeting notes and highlighting key outputs and decisions so they can be easily shared with others across the Partnership

The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards, advising and supporting on the delivery of IPD's programme capacity enhancement strategy. About the Role:

As an experienced WASH professional and systems thinker, you will provide strategic leadership to the WASH Systems and Programme Partnerships team, aiming to maximise the value that the individuals and the wider Programme Support and Knowledge team brings in contributing to effective approaches to WASH systems strengthening and effective programme partnerships for collective action, as part of WaterAid's strategy.

The WASH Systems and Programme Partnerships Senior Manager is a senior leadership role within the Programme Support and Knowledge (PSK) team that sits within the International Programmes Department of WaterAid (UK). You will be a member of the PSK senior leadership team.

In this role, you will provide the vision and the steer to the team in providing high quality and impactful WASH systems advisory support, guide the development and refreshment of the organisational framing, guidance and standards materials. The role will also provide leadership in steering and convening the organisational best practice in developing and shaping strategically focused programme partnerships and alliances for effective collective action. This includes guiding our work on the relative roles of the public and private sector in WASH, particularly evolving our work on Sanitation and Water Operator Partnerships (SWOPs).

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.

We are looking for an experienced and creative partnerships officer, to join our high performing and fast paced team at an incredibly exciting time. You will be managing and supporting a varied and interesting range of partnerships including existing and brand-new partnerships.

The Corporate Partnerships team consists of Partnerships Management, Planning and Development and New Partnerships team. This role reports into a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer.

As a skilled relationship officer, you'll work with your manager to provide first-rate partnership management, developing creative fundraising and engagement plans to excite and inspire your team. Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships based in the UK, you will work closely with the teams in our dual headquarters (Toronto, Canada and London, UK), as well as programme and fundraising teams across Africa, Asia, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. You will be responsible for coordinating a variety of functions that support Right To Play’s (RTP’s) global business development and grant management strategy, supporting proposal development for new funding opportunities and grant management for existing donor partnerships. The role will also include internal support for different fundraising offices globally, to ensure joined up approaches are undertaken to secure and manage grant funding across RTP.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

#1. Funding Identification (15% of Time)

• Lead global prospecting for new business development by tracking funding opportunities, and researching suitable new funding opportunities from governments, private organizations, and foundations in line with RTP’s theory of change and organizational priorities.
• Research and understand the current funding strategies of institutional donors and philanthropic giving organisations to support strategic decision-making on new business development. This will include a focus on regional, country, and sectoral funding trends relevant to RTP’s geographic and thematic areas.
• Monitor funding opportunities and ‘calls’, ensuring that the relevant departments globally within RTP are informed in a timely manner with tailored information.

#2. Proposal Development and Grant Management Support (30% of Time)

• Work in conjunction with relevant departments across RTP (including Global Programs, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and Communications departments), to lead the development of different thematic and programme funding materials that will support new donor acquisition and strong donor stewardship.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of specific materials to assist in new business development and equip fundraisers to seek relevant funding opportunities.
• Support the development of proposals in response to specific funding opportunities as required by the Global Partnerships team and occasionally the Country Office teams, in some cases this will be leading on certain proposals.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of project narrative and financial reports, to ensure high standards of reporting and donor stewardship are maintained. In some cases, this will be leading on certain reports.
• Provide additional ad-hoc support to fundraising activities, personnel and offices across the organisation globally as required across the programme funding cycle to ensure strong proposal development and grant management practices are maintained. 
• Participate in, and represent, RTP in external meetings and networks as required.

#3. Data Management, System Compliance and Coordination (40% of Time)

• Track funding applications, pipelines and reports across all fundraising departments globally, using RTP’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform and other tracking tools as required.
• Work closely with fundraising offices across the organisation to ensure timely and accurate use of RTP’s CRM platform so accurate fundraising data is maintained in the system.
• Support quarterly reporting and analysis of global funding progress, funding pipelines, funding priorities, tracking against targets/objectives, and disseminate the information globally to all relevant staff.
• Support the preparation of materials (including presentations) on organisational funding performance for the senior Executive Management Teams.
• Manage internal information databases and Microsoft SharePoint sites ensuring documents related to proposals, donor reports, fundraising materials etc. are stored according to agreed protocols and disseminated across the fundraising and program delivery offices.
• Work closely with the Global Fundraising Operations Manager and Global Business Analyst to ensure the platform remains an accurate and effective database of donor information and responding to ad-hoc tasks as necessary.
• Lead on the preparation and coordination of various monthly procedures as required.

#4. Global Partnerships Team Support (10% of Time)

• Contribute to strategic discussions within the team to support planning and priorities.
• Support the planning and implementation of internal meetings and/or conferences.
• Keep up to date with the major issues pertaining to children, child rights and development, as well as the donor environment and developments within RTP.

The role

Main areas of responsibility

This is a key senior role within the Fundraising Directorate, collaborating closely with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business the Fundraising Leadership Team to grow income and awareness from corporate sources.

The key focus of the role will be:

• Successfully lead the Corporate Partnerships account team to develop and deliver on our ambitious growth strategy across existing partnerships.
• Working collaboratively with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to deliver a seamless strategy, focussing on the transition of partners through business planning and maximising lifetime value.
• Being accountable for excellent stewardship and account growth plans specifically deepening of engagement to maximise ROI and longer term strategic partnerships.
• Using data, insight and innovation techniques to implement diversify income streams from existing partners.
• An active member of the Fundraising Leadership Team, managing key cross organisational projects on behalf of the whole fundraising directorate.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to maximise immediate potential with existing partners and generate a more diverse portfolio of strategic and sustained income over time.
• Maintain oversight of our partnerships portfolio and pipeline and work with the Senior Corporate Manager – New Business to ensure a cohesive and collaborative transition of new partners into account management.
• Manage forecasting and expenditure for the Corporate Partnerships team providing updates, mitigation plans and horizon scanning for income opportunities. .
• Lead the team to develop and deliver cultivation and stewardship programmes for partners with clear growth targets
• Lead Corporate Fundraising representation across the organisation, to deliver projects and build new opportunities to help the FareShare deliver on its strategy.
• Establish effective and impactful relationships with current partners to ensure appropriate relationships are in place and effectively managed at all levels.
• Oversee account allocation across the team to maximise account growth and optimise return on investment.
• In collaboration with FareShare’s Operations Team ensure accurate monitoring and project progress on restricted funding.
• Provide inspiring and motivating leadership and coaching of direct line reports
• Work with the Senior Managers across fundraising to maximise cross selling opportunities, from employees to Major Donor prospects.
• Develop, monitor and maintain systems and processes including Salesforce database, financial accounting, account management plans, contracts and due diligence
• Work within legal and charity guidelines
• Manage and work within FareShare’s IT systems and data guidelines
• Undertake training and skills development and keep up to date with the changing requirements of the role
• Undertake other duties as required
• Lead the development of new corporate engagement and income generating opportunities to enhance partnerships, deepen relationships and provide value to the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable experience of delivering six-figure partnerships at scale in either a charity or commercial environment
• Experience of providing excellent relationship management and stewardship resulting in increased levels of financial support from partners
• Experience of managing multi-faceted strategic partnerships that deliver both financial and non-financial impact to an organisation
• Experience of using data and insight to inform business planning and decision making
• Ability to develop strategy and translate into an operational delivery plan
• Experience of leading a team and people management
• Target driven, proactive and creative in meeting the needs of complex multi-faceted partners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability influence and negotiate at all levels internally and externally
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex and compelling funding proposals
• Exceptional project management skills, capable of leading the delivery of multiple complex projects on time and to budget
• Proven experience of financial forecasting and managing financial risks and opportunities
• Experience of working in a third sector environment
• Evidence of an up to date understanding of charity legislation, best practice and regulatory requirements, including large scale CRM campaigns
