About the role: 

As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health. 

About you:

• Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation 
• Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise. 
• Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people. 
• Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.

You will conduct assessments and manage referrals, build and maintain relationships, as well as promote the service, both internally and externally. Development and Volunteer Coordinator Lead

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (Initial 12 month Contract until March 2025 with the possibility of extension)

The Role

This is a new and exciting role based in Lewisham for a Development and Volunteer coordinator lead. The role entails managing a team of volunteers and Peer mentors to deliver a service to Lewisham residents who are experiencing Drug and/or alcohol use and support Peer mentors to distribute Naloxone to the local community.

They are looking for an innovative and creative person to develop and implement a buddying system and a telephone helpline which will be staffed by a team of volunteers.

They are based in Forest Hill SE23 which is 20 mins from London Bridge mainline station. The contract is for one year (with the possibility of an extension) and they welcome applicants who have lived experience of drugs, alcohol, homelessness or mental health challenges. The role is for 37 hours per week but they are willing to consider part time applicants or a job share.

Skills and Qualifications

· Experienced working in a lead or supervisory role would be beneficial.

· Experience working with IT packages such as Microsoft word and excel.

· Be able to undertake basic administrative tasks.

· Great communication skills are essential.

· Be able to have an empathetic approach when dealing with service users.

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, gig buddy, travel buddy scheme, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.

We are now looking for a committed individual to join our Professional Services team. The role holder will help to coordinate projects to increase skills, improve health, and build confidence and independence for our members with a learning disability. The role will involve project coordination of our exciting new Pioneering Good Health project and our award-winning Digital Inclusion project.  Please note that this role does not require an IT technician/specialist; a basic, every day, standard, all round understanding of using a laptop/device will suffice.

The role

As National Support Coordinator you will provide support to our members living with a rare neuromuscular condition, myasthenia, their families, and carers. Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness.

Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) Peer Mentor Advert

About the Peer Mentor Service

Shelter is delivering a Peer Mentor Service in partnership with the Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) within Birmingham and Solihull’s Mental Health Foundation Trust. The FIRST service is a comprehensive recovery focussed multi-disciplinary team addressing the individual needs of our service users through tailored packages of care. It includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, Peer Mentors, Substance Use workers and Social Workers. Each service user will have an allocated Care Coordinator and Responsible Clinician who monitor, and review care and support needs and interventions.

The Peer Mentor role will engage with clients on the ward and within the community - with a primary focus on supporting clients with their transition away from staying on the ward to living in the community. The Peer Mentor service’s aim is to help people with multiple and complex needs to enhance the support available through the FIRST Pathway.

We’re looking for people who have had mental health issues, are ex-offenders or who have been through the criminal justice system. You’ll need to have been stable for at least 18 months and be willing to share details of your successful journey with others to help them. You will be looking to go into a career supporting vulnerable adults and this will be a great opportunity to gain experience. Basic computer skills will be needed, as well as the interest to develop and learn new skills.

We are recruiting a part-time (2 days per week) Carer Support Coordinator to join our supportive team who are committed to making life better for Manchester’s unpaid carers. The community engagement coordinator will work as part of a team of new community engagement service working across East, West and South London. The key aims of this new service are to build relationships with specialist providers across south, west, and east London, where our services are clustered, to develop a menu of enhanced support opportunities to meet survivors’ social, health and financial needs.

This is a very important role in Refuge, which will make a real difference to the lives of the women and children that Refuge supports every day. Together as a team, you will create pathways to decrease social inclusion, increase participation in community activities, employment, education and training. You will be skilled at working with a diverse range of audiences and will be adept at creating and developing new partnerships and pathways that improve the lives of survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence.

As a Digital Communications Coordinator you will work across the UK assisting the Activist Engagement team with digital support to improve the engagement of our active members throughout the four countries. You’ll be working closely with members and RCN staff coordinating the digital tools and platforms needed to develop and enhance peer to peer communication for our active members, strengthening activist communities and building power.

It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from member participation using digital technology; data management; to scoping the market for new and innovative technology to support member participation.

In this role you will be working to across two main areas of priority: digital tools and data management. You’re day-to-day will be coordinating all the digital engagement tools and platforms. This may include supporting member to member participation through existing platforms to scoping the technology market for new innovative ways to increase member engagement. With support from the Lead for Activist communities you will also manage all aspects of digital engagement data and work closely with the Data and IT teams to ensure data protection.

We’re looking for someone who is technology savvy and is comfortable working with numbers. Someone who pays attention to detail and who can work as part of a team while hitting individual targets. Who is a go-getter and can follow the direction set by the Lead for Activist Communities, the Head of Activist Engagement, and the over-all strategic direction of the Activism Academy. It is important you can build professional relationships with members and staff by promoting a working atmosphere where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Most importantly you will have a commitment to grow a deeper understanding of building activism which will help to shape the RCN’s activist engagement.

You have recent experience in the mental health field, or working with vulnerable adults, and a good understanding of service user development. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Befriending Coordinator.

Our friendly team in Hammersmith help people living with mental health problems to develop a sense of independence, purpose and fulfilment and gain the skills they need to return to work or simply live a more fulfilling life. But, we need your help.

As a Befriending Coordinator, you will support individuals with lived experience of mental health issues one on one through befriending to help reform and improve their lives. You will also help recruit, support and match volunteers to work with our clients and develop befriending networks that will empower service users to improve and sustain their mental health and wellbeing. Along the way you might support other areas of our service such as peer support groups, workshops and social events for local clients.

To succeed, you’ll need:

• Communication skills, written and verbal, to confidently consult, liaise and work effectively with clients, volunteers, colleagues and a wide range of organisations.
• Self-motivation and professional integrity.
• Time management skills, prioritising and planning work.
• Problem solving and decision making skills.
• A genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to travel locally within Hammersmith and Fulham (though this is a Hybrid role so 1-2 days in the office/community per week)

It would be a great bonus if you have:

• Experience of recruiting and/or supervising volunteers
• An understanding of holistic support for people with mental health issues
• Relevant IT skills (General Microsoft Office use, client record management system experience and an ability to utilise Zoom and schedule befriending matches to meet remotely)
• Some flexibility over working hours may be helpful to accommodate befriending sessions out of hours.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.
