Job Title: Peer Support Mentor

Location: This role is based based in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), the service is a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access. 

Salary: £27,000 (Full Time Equivalent) 

Shift Pattern: This is a 25 hour per week role, worked Monday to Friday on a rota basis. You will work three shifts per week: two shifts between 09:00 - 17:00 or 10:00 - 18:00, and one longer shift between 09:00 - 20:00 or 10:00 - 21:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and participant requirements. 

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Mentor to join our team based in RBKC to support our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You will support in providing our residents with the support needed to help them overcome their personal barriers, and achieve their goals in a person centred approach. You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service. The role includes:

Some key responsibilities include:

• Supporting residents with daily tasks
• Placing residents needs at the centre of all support provided and using trauma informed practice to guide care and support.
• Drawing on your own lived experience (such as substance misuse, offending, homelessness, or other relevant experiences) to support and relate to residents with multiple and complex needs.
• Plan and deliver activities within the Complex Needs Hub working with the activities team, including monthly activities with risk assessments and adjustments for clients.
• Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to their needs
• Carry out regular welfare checks, safeguarding checks, and general living checks
• Encourage residents to take part in activities and events
• Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary
• Carry out general housing management support

The Role

Your Key Responsibilities

Manage School Relationships:

• Support on the recruitment of state schools and partners across the UK to participate in all training programmes including all “Speak Out Challenge” programmes;
• Support schools to engage with our resources;
• Maintain and build school and teacher relationships;

• Follow up with schools after workshop delivery;

Liaise With Freelance Delivery Team:

• Liaise with trainers to match availability to workshop dates;

• Ensure trainer team has adequate resources and supplies to deliver their training;
• Assist in trainer team administration including invoicing and feedback.

Coordinate Events:

• Support the delivery of regional events such as competitions, launches, promotional and networking events;
• Manage competition entries across programmes- ensuring we have all relevant information and permissions including parental consent;
• Liaise with freelance staff delivering events and external event teams, ensuring they have all the correct resources and information required;
• Help implement quality assessment protocols as agreed with funders.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Translations Editor (French) to join our Communication for Development team. This role ensures the quality and delivery of Tearfund's French translations for audiences primarily in Francophone Africa.

You will manage translation workflows for a wide range of content—from publications and training materials to digital and multimedia resources—working with a network of freelance translators and proofreaders. You will also contribute to strengthening Tearfund's translation standards and digital processes, including the use of our translation software management and AI tools.

• Native-level proficiency in French and strong command of English (spoken and written)

We are seeking a Community Engagement Officer to provide vital administrative support to our policy & campaigns function and across the organisation, facilitating strong engagement with our community of dementia carers. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for enquiries around our carer engagement projects, and will assist with the coordination and administration of policy and campaign activities.  You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we build on our successes and continue to grow our reach and impact to make a difference for dementia carers.

What we do at Dementia Carers Count

We support, advocate and campaign for dementia carers so that no-one feels isolated, invisible or alone.

Key responsibilities of the role

• Be the first point of contact for enquiries, managing incoming phone calls and generic inboxes for policy and campaigns, ensuring that enquiries are escalated efficiently and calls transferred to appropriate DCC team members.
• Record carer details and interactions on the database.
• Support the recruitment and ongoing management of the dementia carer community, including working across DCC teams to facilitate the promotion and ongoing coordination of a range of engagement opportunities.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of campaigns and community engagement activities.
• Support communication with and management of the Carers’ Advisory Panel, including scheduling meetings, maintaining attendance records, and facilitating communication among members.
• Provide support for carer engagement, as required, to other teams in DCC.

We are looking for the following experience:

• Managing incoming enquiries via phone and email, with the ability to efficiently triage and escalate as needed.

• Using databases to record and manage personal information

• Coordinating appointments, meetings, or events.

Job Description

Part of our Philanthropy and Partnerships department, our Trusts and Foundations team plays a crucial role in supporting our mission by raising significant funding from grant-making organisations, trusts, foundations and major donors. As our new Trusts and Foundations Executive, you will join a top performing team, identify and engage with prospective donors, build long-term relationships, generate donations, coordinate events and steward our supporters. You will be responsible for:   

• Identify, cultivate and manage a portfolio of trust prospects and supporters, generating donations ranging between £5.000-50.000.  

• Manage a calendar of virtual and face to face approaches and donor interactions, in line with donor requirements and deadlines.  

• Produce and present project proposals and briefing in writing or in person as needed.  

• Ensure all donations are4 processes and recorded following agreed processes.  

Key Criteria: 

• Previous experience in a sales role.  

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence in dealing with people at all levels, demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy.   

• Proactive adaptable self-starter comfortable with taking initiative and working autonomously.

As an Independent Living Advisor, you will empower individuals facing challenges with daily living, mobility, or self-care, as well as their carers, by providing tailored advice and support. You’ll conduct holistic assessments, working with health and social care professionals, to guide individuals on accessing support services, funding, and resources.

You’ll manage a varied caseload, addressing care needs, grants, adaptations, and funding options, delivering advice through phone, email, meetings, and home visits. By coordinating with other RBL services, you’ll ensure a fully integrated, person-centred approach that helps individuals regain control over their lives.

A DBS check is required for this role.

About the team

This role sits within the Income Generation directorate within the Retail team at Shelter. You will work alongside and report into the Area Manager, along with the Community Shop Managers of the shops you will be helping to oversee.

You'll have experience in general administrative roles with strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. You'll be proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), reliable, proactive, and able to work independently whilst being a supportive team player. Experience with Salesforce is desirable but not essential.
