Job description

About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide assessments and a range of evidence-based treatments to a caseload of patients with mild to moderate symptoms such as worry and low mood whilst attending the University of Southampton to become a Qualified PWP.

Hours: 37 hours per week (including part time university course).

Location: Either Gosport, Eastleigh, or Basingstoke combined with home working.

About you

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for helping people who is looking to start a career within NHS Talking Therapies. You will need to be enthusiastic about supporting people with empathy and have a strong understanding of mental health. We especially value those with personal experience of mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience supporting people with low mood or anxiety, in a professional or voluntary environment.
  • Knowledge of the NHS Talking Therapies services and the stepped care model.
  • Ability to self-reflect and respond well to feedback to learn and develop skills.

The NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire service is provided in partnership by Solent Mind and the Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Psychological wellbeing practitioners are employed by Solent Mind to deliver low intensity support at step 2 of the stepped care model.
