Are you passionate about storytelling and media relations? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to use your skills to make a meaningful impact?

Charity People are looking for a Press & PR Officer to join a charity communications team to help drive positive media coverage that supports their mission. You will work closely with the Press & PR Manager to deliver both reactive and proactive media work, from drafting press materials and managing press enquiries to support campaigns and source compelling stories.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact comms, and help bring powerful stories to life with their media coverage.

A significant part of the role involves working with their regional partners across the UK to identify compelling local stories, case studies, and spokespeople that highlight their impact. You will help ensure their stories are communicated clearly, consistently, and effectively across national and regional media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to media enquiries professionally and promptly
  • Draft press releases, reactive statements, and media content
  • Maintain media inbox, coverage logs, and media lists
  • Support media opportunities across the UK, including travel when required
  • Develop press kits and briefing documents
  • Source human-interest stories and case studies
  • Assist with PR campaigns and media logistics
  • Monitor press coverage and compile reports
  • Track seasonal hooks and news agendas for campaign planning

You will bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a press office, PR agency, or media team
  • Confident in drafting press materials and media content
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Strong interest in media and current affairs
  • Highly organised, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Passion for social impact and community-focused work

This role is set to start asap, so please do not hesitate to send your CV over asap.

Charity People is a forward thinking, inclusive organisation that actively and deliberately promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. We know organisations thrive when inclusion is at the forefront.
