The Research and Impact Lead role brings scope for dynamic collaboration across the organization, and creativity in applying research and evaluation expertise to a range of opportunities. The Research and Impact Lead will shape, drive and deliver a range of learning activities. They will be a voice for evidence-based decision making within BookTrust, ensuring that we put the needs of children, families, and our delivery partners at the heart of our work.

In this role we are looking for an experienced mixed methods researcher to oversee our MEL approach, develop and deliver new learning and funding partnerships and contribute to our portfolio of cross departmental learning activities – working to deliver research activities or supporting our team of in-house researchers through providing steer and quality assurance.

To lead the development and delivery of Rewilding Britain's digital communications output, to inform, engage and activate audiences in support of our charitable aims.

Objectives of the role: 

Social media

• In line with our organisational objectives, lead on building our profile, reputation and engagement on social media with key audiences.

• Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals, and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members. 

• Ensure that Rewilding Britain is using the best possible tools and techniques, by drawing on your own knowledge of the digital landscape and trends and staying up to date with changing trends.

• Guide colleagues across the organisation to capture and create social content in order to maximise opportunities to engage others with rewilding

• Take responsibility for monitoring social media and community building, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to social media enquiries.

Email marketing

• Develop and deliver a schedule of email marketing for the organisation, including for fundraising and political engagement campaigns.

• Optimise email marketing by A/B testing content regularly to maximise performance and by making design and content improvements as the digital landscape evolves. 

• Use audience segmentation in support of campaigns, drawing on data from our CRM.
   

Website content & maintenance

• Work with the Content Manager and other team members to create new and updated web content in line with the Content Strategy, that is engaging, accurate and on-brand.

• Ensure web content is optimised for SEO and usability, advising and training staff on best practice.

• Contribute to team efforts to enhance the website as an engagement tool, including liaising with agencies where relevant. 

Other

• Track, monitor and report on digital activity to prove impact and maximise effectiveness. 

• Oversee/brief colleagues and freelancers, where relevant, to deliver discrete pieces of digital content for Rewilding Britain's channels.

Experience

• At least three years' experience in a digital management role in a comparable organisation, overseeing digital communications to further organisational objectives. 

• Proven experience in managing social media channels in a professional role.

• Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital monitoring tools.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This role is as maternity cover (9 months with possibility of extension).

This is a full time 5 day (35 hour) a week position, but we are open to a conversation with candidates who are seeking a role of 28-35 hours a week.

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
• Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.

The post holder will help to champion and manage the PAPYRUS brand and support the delivery of our projects and services through developing engaging and targeted content. They will act as the day-to-day lead on our social media planning and scheduling, as well as blog writing and storytelling.

What you will do:

Lead on the PAPYRUS social media planning and scheduling, utilising a social media management suite such as Hootsuite, or similar.

Support the day to day running of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube), using these to promote our services, increase brand awareness and drive engagement with our audiences;

Lead on maintaining and creating content for the PAPYRUS website and blog, collating stories from people with lived experience of suicide, as well as other charity staff and stakeholders.

Develop the charity’s online presence by exploring new opportunities and channels to appeal to different audiences;

Produce creative designs and artwork for print and digital requirements, utilising in-house design tools and software (including Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva);

To be successful in this role you will have:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Social media marketing campaign experience

A natural flair for storytelling, with the ability to create compelling, informative written content promoting the voices of lived experience.

Good project management skills and ability to manage reactive and planned work

We are looking for an Interim External Affairs Manager to help lead our communications activities from 24 June 2024 to 31 December, while our permanent External Affairs Manager is on sabbatical. Compliance Officer

We’re looking for a dynamic and a highly motivated individual to join a new role in our Compliance and Data Protection team.

The Role

Reporting to the Compliance Lead, the Compliance Officer will drive the development of an improved Compliance culture throughout the charity whilst ensuring that we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Acting as a knowledge expert on compliance and promoting a culture of compliance within the charity in relation to data protection, fundraising and the provision of support services, by the provision of advice, guidance, internal communications and training.

· Assist in the development of new training materials and communications relating to Data Protection and Compliance including overseeing the relevant intranet pages.

· Help to review existing processes and policies and assist in the updating/development of these, along with tracking changes in the external environment that may have an impact on these policies and procedures.

· Overseeing, managing and responding to queries from the departments different inboxes including those for Data Protection, individual data rights requests and data breaches.

· Project managing a number of key actions from an external review of the organisation’s Data Protection practices.

· Assist the Compliance Lead and Associate Director of Legal and Governance in producing ad hoc and annual compliance reports along with any annual submissions to regulators, 3rd parties or external bodies.
