Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. Full time (35 hours per week) although flexible hours may be considered; the role may require occasional evening and weekend work  

Working location: Home based. The post holder should expect to come into the office a minimum of two days per month, with the possibility of up to five days per month being routinely required.

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships 

You’ll be ambitious to take the next step and we are on hand to support and offer you training and a positive working environment to allow you to gain confidence and knowledge in the role at a steady pace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.  
• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

The role

The Head of Practice leads on best practice and practice development across Business Disability Forum. This includes leading and overseeing the work of the Advice Service to support our members and Partners and acting as the primary referral point for complex queries, collating and sharing best practice from within our membership and the impact of BDF best practice advice. They will also lead the delivery of the BDF internal upskilling programme to ensure that all Member and Partner facing teams are at the forefront of best practice in delivering high quality advice and support.

They will also work closely with the Content Team to ensure that BDF’s resources reflect the latest best practice and with the Policy Team to ensure BDF’s advice and resources reflect the latest policy and research thinking and to maintain our position as thought leaders.

The requirement

• Experience of leading and managing experts on diversity and inclusion related situations and of motivating.
• A demonstrable track record of relationship building at a senior level leading to tangible results.
• Experience of providing consultancy, training and advice on disability related issues.
• Experience of presenting to senior management and the board.
• Experience of working in human resources, talent management, or organisation development to at least adviser level.
• High level of understanding and knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and recent disability related case law in the UK and Globally.
• Knowledge of disability best practice, topical issues within disability rights and policy and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Head of Wellbeing and Grants – The Solicitors’ Charity

We’re looking for a Head of Wellbeing and Grants to provide collaborative leadership to the Wellbeing and Grants Team and its operations, which are the centre of the Charity’s core charitable activities. As well as running a personal caseload, you’ll work with the team to develop a systematic approach/methodology to case management practice and review, rooted in case management best practice.

Salary c£56,500 to c£63,500 rising to c£57,500 to £64,500 after a 6-month probationary period. The point on these salary ranges at which you will be paid is dependent on your location.

Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings, largely in central London. Most staff work from home, though we also have an office in southwest London (SW12).

The Head of Wellbeing and Grants role

We have recently agreed our strategy for 2024-2026 and one of the focus areas will be, with the CEO and others, to ensure the successful implementation of the 3-year Strategy, focussing on the Wellbeing and Grants aspects of the strategic aims.

As holder of this senior role, you will lead in collaboratively designing and implementing a consistent methodology for, and systematic approach to, new and existing clients contacting the Charity. You’ll also ensure that the tools and technology used to do this are in place, used consistently and reviewed regularly. As well as management oversight of the Wellbeing and Grants Team, you will also hold a personal caseload and be expected to support Case Managers with particularly challenging cases.

We’re looking for someone with at least 10 years’ experience in casework practice in a client support or advice setting dealing with conversations with people with complex needs and sometimes in distress.  And with at least 3-5 years’ experience in leading/managing a client support function like casework or grants/awards team.

Other key demonstrable skills and experience include having completed other relevant qualifications/training and courses in the sphere of advice and support work e.g. counselling, case management practice, therapeutic approaches et al.

About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English language classes (ESOL) for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 500 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through trainings, research and partnerships.

Role Outline and Purpose

On behalf of the trustees and accountable to them for providing strategic direction and day to day leadership and management of the foodbank. 

This will be achieved by leading by example in upholding our values, ethos and culture by motivating staff and our wonderful volunteers, along with the Churches and others as strategic partners in successfully implementing the strategy to achieve our vision.

The role also entails leadership with building high-performing partnerships with all those able and willing to support the vision to end the need for foodbanks in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

·To develop and deliver Greenwich Foodbank’s strategic vision as a pathfinding foodbank working to eliminate food poverty in the borough and ensuring alignment with our vision, values and strategy

·Be accountable to the Greenwich Foodbank Board and work with staff, volunteers and all the key stakeholders to create the right culture and practices to uphold our values and achieve our vision

·Engage staff, volunteers, those we exist to serve and the board to translate the Greenwich Foodbank vision into operational strategies, demonstrating clear thinking and inspiring leadership and focussed on continuous improvement

·Ensure there is a an effective performance monitoring system in place to measure progress

Essential Experience

• Significant proven record of achievement in a senior position within a charity/not for profit organisation.
• Experience of managing staff and working with volunteers

• Financial management skills, including budgeting and delivery of cost and income targets
• Evidence of having a robust approach to governance with experience of risk management
• Evidence of having fostered senior level relationships with partner organisations

Desirable Experience

This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closely with our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions. 

The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&P function is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. The A&C function aims to build political and public understanding of and support for making participation and deliberation an everyday, integral part of our democracy. 

This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and data sectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful, but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics. 

Involve achieves its impacts by growing expertise in sector-specific areas where public engagement is important. Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital and where public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedback loops. Technological advancement, including AI, presents risks and opportunities and will be an ongoing priority for government with five critical technologies likely to be central to UK policy for at least the next Government.

Involve has a significant pedigree and is well networked in the area of public engagement in science. Over the last 20 years we have been thought leaders in this space, in particular running the government’s science and tech engagement programme, Sciencewise. We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building.

As Engagement Lead you will play a central role in leading Involve’s work, and building out our strategy, on public engagement in the science, technology and data field. The job will involve leading on our Sciencewise programme of public dialogue as well as supporting, growing and communicating our science and tech public engagement in general. You will be a proven project leader and strategic thinker looking to make your next move and develop your leadership and profile in this interesting and important area of public engagement in decision-making.

Specialism: This role will primarily lead in our engagement and ongoing development of our regular giving programme. (This includes products like Poppy Supporter as well as other forms of regular donations.)

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development and Advisory Manager to join our committed team, who will hit the ground running.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• You will manage and grow Stronger Together’s business relations in a variety of sectors, both in the UK and globally to generate funding and drive impact. This includes taking the lead in developing project proposals for clients.

• You will deliver interactive training workshops and deliver premium quality services to businesses to support them to embed responsible recruitment and fair work and tackle modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.

• You will project manage all client projects from start to finish.

The role is diverse with opportunities to generate new funding to drive impact, project manage and implement training and activity with a variety of businesses, and to try out new ideas. You will work remotely, but in close cooperation with the Head of Business Development, and rest of our growing team across the world. 

Who you are:

• An experienced professional with an in-depth understanding of and subject matter expertise on working with businesses on responsible recruitment, ethical labour practices and modern slavery, and significant experience in business engagement/developing and managing senior management corporate sponsor relations (min. 5 years’ experience).

• The ideal candidate should have experience in a business development role, a track record in building and developing business relations, and strong experience of giving presentations, delivering pitches and closing deals.

• Experienced in maintaining and developing corporate sponsor relations including writing client and grant proposals.

• An excellent trainer, with experience of delivering training to businesses.

• A strong project manager and great organiser, with the ability to set and meet demanding targets and deadlines, and to hold others accountable to those.

• A professional who has worked with or within the construction, manufacturing, consumer goods, apparel, finance or care sector on responsible business behaviour.

• An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with experience of developing and building new successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders, as well as confidence in representing the organisation professionally at a variety of events.

• A motivated and enthusiastic worker, able to work independently and with remote colleagues/stakeholders.

• Someone with a good eye for detail, whilst retaining sight of the bigger picture.
